Natural protection against pests. Solutions for pre-winter spraying

How, besides epin, zircon, HB-101, you can cheer up your green pets? It turns out that in home arsenal there are many products that can successfully replace newfangled preparations that can not only facilitate plant care, but also completely replace microfertilizers or growth and flowering stimulants. Moreover, they are good not only for indoor, but also for seedlings of vegetable and garden plants, strawberries.

The most elementary , and does not require any tricks - hot shower! Hot water (not boiling water, of course), but with a temperature of about +50 o C will not only prevent pests, but good stimulant growth.

Before the procedure itself, all indoor plants should be well watered, after 1-2 hours put in the bath and turn on the shower.

Temperature hot water should be such that the hand endures. Water the plants with a hot stream for one to two minutes. Hot water that has fallen into the pot will help in the fight against soil pests (if they are wound up). After showering, plants should be left in the tub overnight to dry out excess water from glass pots. A hot shower can be done with almost all indoor flowers, except for saintpaulias. Such procedures begin to be done in February and continue throughout the season. The results will not be long in coming, they can be seen in a week.

Sugar. For top dressing, it is enough to pour one teaspoon of granulated sugar on the surface of the soil in a pot before watering, or water it with sweet water once a week. Two teaspoons of granulated sugar are taken for one glass of water. Cacti adore top dressing with granulated sugar.

Castor oil. Castor oil top dressings are good for stimulating flowering and fruit formation. One teaspoon of castor oil is enough for one liter of water. Shake the solution well before use.

Plain brilliant green(brilliant green solution), as well as fucorcin(red liquid), which have a powerful antifungal effect, will help in the fight against fungal diseases. Bulbs of hyacinths, lilies, tulips and other bulbous and bulbous plants in places of damage, as well as scratches and damage to the stems of roses, especially after winter, can be smeared with brilliant green or fucorcin. Scratches and damage, heal and do not rot.

Boric acid. Solution boric acid It is also a stimulant for the formation of buds, ovaries. Boric acid can easily replace the well-known "Ovary" in the garden to stimulate flowering and fruit formation in vegetable crops, for example, in tomatoes, cucumbers, as well as during the formation of heads on cabbage, and even all fruit bushes and trees. Working solution - dilute a sachet of boric acid in two liters of water. Spray the plants with this solution several times per season: before flowering, immediately after flowering, two weeks after flowering, so that the ovary does not fall off.

An effective stimulator of growth and root formation is considered aloe juice. It is good for soaking or germinating seeds.

Honey, to be exact. honey solution, is also a powerful biostimulant. It can be successfully used for soaking and germinating seeds, rooting cuttings. Honey solution can be used in the garden during flowering for better pollination and ovary formation.

It is good to use honey solution in bucket traps hung on fruit trees to keep fruits from pests.

fresh apples. One kilogram of chopped apples insist in five liters of water for two days, and top dressing for all plants is ready. An infusion of fresh apples is especially adored by such plants as Schlumbergera, Zygocactus, Ripsalidopsis.

Milk. For variegated and ornamental leafy plants, regular milk can be used as a top dressing. Working solution: 100 ml of milk is diluted in one liter of water. Such watering is very fond of ferns. Watering with milk water is alternated after 2-3 waterings with plain water.

Vitamins of group B (B 1, B 6, B 12), as well as vitamin C, can be used for rooting cuttings, soaking seeds, and developing the root system. For a working solution, just a few drops per liter of water are enough.

yeast solution can with great success replace such a root stimulator as heteroauxin. Preparation of a working solution: 100 mg of yeast must be dissolved in one liter of water. In this solution for a day, place the cuttings prepared for rooting. After that, the cuttings must be removed from the yeast solution, rinsed with water and placed for rooting in a mini-greenhouse or a container of water. If you put the cutting into the water to take root, then do not forget to put it there small piece charcoal.

Yeast solution can also be used in the garden. In the spring, when planting, they can water all plants, including roses.

Decoction onion peel is perceived by all plants without exception as a complete fertilizer. With a decoction, you can not only water the ground, but also sprinkle the entire plant for prevention from pests. Preparation of a working solution: pour one or two handfuls of onion peel with one liter of boiling water, boil for 3-5 minutes, let cool. After that, strain the broth and you can use it! It is advisable to use all the cooked decoction of onion peel at a time.

Excellent fertilizer for indoor plants - aquarium water. There are many substances in aquarium water that stimulate plant growth. It is recommended to use aquarium water as top dressing only in spring and early summer, when new shoots and leaves are actively growing. In the second half of summer, when young shoots and seeds are already ripening, as well as for feeding slowly growing cacti and succulents aquarium water better not to use.

Potato broth can also be used as a top dressing for all plants. Cool the water in which the potatoes were boiled, strain and then dilute it strongly. I tested, it works! Of course, at first I was very afraid, I thought that suddenly the earth in the pots would immediately turn sour, then, nevertheless, I took a chance. Satisfied with the result.

Water used to wash raw meat, can be used as a top dressing for all plants. To feed indoor plants, it is recommended to insist this water for two weeks so that it ferments and becomes suitable for irrigation. I watered the plants in the garden with such water without insisting. Dahlias, which often got water after washing their meat, bloomed much earlier than the others, the bushes were gorgeous, and the buds were dark. So that's checked too.

Decoctions and infusions from other plants are the best suited not only for feeding, but also help to cope with pests.

Infusion of wormwood increases the immunity of plants, helps to cope with rust on the leaves of pelargonium, stock roses, lavaters, roses, and is also used in the fight against aphids, various caterpillars and other leaf-eating insects. Preparation of working solution: wormwood can be used in dry and fresh, pour cold water and let stand for 1-3 days. Used without dilution. This infusion is very effective in the spring.

You can hold the infusion of wormwood for two weeks, let it wander. Such an infusion is recommended to be diluted ten times. It can be used for watering and spraying indoor and garden plants.

As has long been observed, some garden plants possess not only healing power, but also restrain the onslaught of pests. For example, gypsophila and lavender prevent the attack of aphids and ants on neighboring plants, marigolds and calendula protect neighboring plants from nematodes and other underground pests, garlic kills fungal and viral diseases, including powdery mildew. Therefore, infusions and decoctions of these plants have exactly the same power and can be used with great success as biological pest and disease control agents.

Nettle infusion increases the immunity of plants and is also used as a complete top dressing for all plants. Nettle infusion is prepared according to the same principle as wormwood infusion. You can insist nettles in water for a day or three and water the plants with this infusion, or you can wait until fermentation begins. In order not to stink so much, you can add a little borax to this infusion. After fermentation, strain the nettle infusion, dilute with water at a concentration of 1:10. Such herbal infusions are good to do outdoors in summer. And the herbs are in abundance, and the house does not smell. To combat aphids, you can spray the plants with undiluted nettle infusion.

Nettle infusion is a natural and versatile complex with micro- and macroelements, which surpasses all chemical growth stimulants in its effect on plants.

Infusion comfrey can be used as top dressing in the second half of summer, when plants need a lot of potassium to prepare for winter.

Making an infusion of comfrey is similar to making an infusion of wormwood or nettle. Comfrey infusion can be used for all plants, but it is especially useful for plants that need a lot of potassium and a little nitrogen for full development. Spraying with comfrey infusion over the leaves very quickly removes the signs of potassium starvation. In the infusion of comfrey, the main nutrients - nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium are in such a proportion of 3:1:7.

A decoction of horsetail it will help not only strengthen plant tissues, it will help to cope with rust on leaves, powdery mildew, spider mites. Horsetail can be used both fresh and dried. Preparation of the working solution: Pour the grass with cold water and leave for a day. After that, boil the infusion with horsetail, let it cool, strain into a glass or plastic dish. A decoction of horsetail can be sprayed on both indoor and garden plants. A decoction of horsetail can be added to water for irrigation. Against spider mite for a lasting effect, it is necessary to carry out repeated spraying with a decoction of horsetail.

Valerian juice. Grind fresh valerian herb, add a little boiled or rain water, squeeze. The resulting valerian extract, pour into a glass container and store in the refrigerator. The container with valerian extract must be shaken well before use. It is enough to add only 30 drops of such an extract to a bucket of water. It is recommended to water and spray all plants, including orchids. They say that this is truly a "magic remedy". Why not HB-101, which is sold for big money?

Such extracts, infusions, decoctions can be made from almost any plant and in any combination.

Receipt bountiful harvest impossible without seasonal gardening activities.

Among the methods used for spraying, has proven itself well folk way how to treat a garden with solar oil.

Like other pest control products, diesel fuel is used twice a year - in spring and autumn.

It is necessary to use the oil product with extreme caution: the wrong concentration can damage the plants and cause them to burn.

To prevent the death of trees, treat the garden with diesel fuel in spring period recommended before the formation of the first buds and leaves.

What's the use?

Destroys viruses, fungal formations and insect larvae. The sprayed solution forms an oily film on the surface of the tree, making it impossible for the larvae to breathe.

Eliminates adult insects. Spraying with an oil product prevents the reproduction of pests and does not allow them to lay eggs. Leaves treated with a solution become unfit for food and cannot provide insects with the necessary supplies.

Processing the garden with solar oil is very effective remedy in the fight against such dangerous pest like a bark beetle.

The insect prefers to settle in the bark fruit trees, pears, apples and plums, and thus finds itself in a safe place where they do not penetrate chemicals. This rids the trees of the bark beetle until the next spray.

Recipes

The treatment of the garden with diesel fuel can be carried out not only in the recommended seasons of spring and summer, but also throughout the entire flowering time of the trees.

Spraying methods according to the following recipes have become widespread among the people:

  1. Iron vitriol is bred in water in a ratio of 1 to 10. 10 parts of 10% slaked lime and 20 parts of an oil product are added to the mixture. The concentration of the resulting solution is 50% and is suitable for treatment before the start of bud formation in the spring and after the leaves are shed by the trees in the fall.
  2. Mix 20 parts of diesel fuel with 5 parts of clay and the same amount of water. The mixture is obtained with the same concentration as in the previous recipe, but does not contain iron sulphate, which is a chemical, so the solution should be used correctly both during the flowering period and during the formation of fruits.
  3. Connect 10 parts of diesel fuel with 9 parts of water with the addition of 1 part laundry soap. The concentration of the recipe is 50%.

Processing technology

How to spray trees with diesel fuel? Processing consists of several stages:

  1. Preparing for the process. Prepare solution and spray pump. Wear protective clothing. Be sure to use goggles, a respirator and rubber gloves.
  2. spraying. Spray the agent on the plants: the preparation should fall on the surface of the trees in small drops.
  3. The final stage. It is also recommended to rinse the devices used during the procedure and the pump with water.
Incorrect dilution of diesel fuel and a high concentration of the active substance pose a threat to plants.

For this one branch is sprayed with a solution and after 2 days look at the results. If there is no negative reaction, then you can safely use the remedy.

In order for indoor plants to delight with beautiful greenery and bloom luxuriantly, it is very important to follow the basic rules for spraying them. What do you need to know? Are there house flowers that are undesirable to spray?

Most indoor plants feel most comfortable with a relative humidity of 70-80%. However, in our homes this figure is usually much lower (in summer - about 50-55%, in winter - about 30%).

You can control the level of humidity in the room with the help of a household humidifier. More simple and affordable way- spraying with a spray gun.

Spraying allows not only to humidify the air in the room, but also to reduce the amount of water evaporated from the surface of the leaves of indoor plants and the substrate, as well as to keep the flowers clean.

In the heat of plants with delicate leaves, it is better to spray them before 9 a.m. or in the afternoon, and take care of the flowers that are placed on north side apartments are still better when the air temperature is maximum.

Regular spraying of plants does not replace watering them. And regularly watering does not mean that manipulations with the spray gun should be abandoned. In the matter of moisturizing indoor flowers there must be a middle ground.

We invite you to familiarize yourself with basic rules for spraying houseplants.

Rule 1 It is imperative to spray from the upper and lower sides of plants with hard and shiny leaves (cypress, azalea, arrowroot) and inhabitants flora tropics (orchid, philodendron, bromeliad).

Orchids can be sprayed several times a day

But plants with velvety (gloxinia), thin (pelargonium), transparent (caladium) leaves do not tolerate high humidity and subject to decay.

In the cold season, watering these plants should be limited as much as possible.

For supporting optimal level moisture, you can spray the space around them or place vessels with water next to them.

Rule 2 So that after spraying there are no stains on the furniture, and the window sill and window do not have to be wiped every time, it is better to carry out water procedures In bathroom.

Rule 3 Ideally, spraying should be done twice a day - in the morning and in the evening. However, the main thing here is not to overdo it. After all, the water that glass over the leaves into the substrate stagnates. And excessive moisture, as you know, can harm the plant, causing its disease.

Therefore, it is very important to set the atomizer to minimum atomization.

Rule 4 flowering plants it is worth moistening in such a way that water droplets do not fall on the inflorescences. Otherwise, the flowers will quickly wither.

Rule 5 First, the plant should be watered and only after that it can be sprayed.

If you do not follow this rule, you can easily water one flower twice, and not water the other at all. Indeed, after spraying, the substrate is darker, and it is impossible to determine by eye whether the plant is moistened or not.

Rule 6 When spraying plants in the warm season, it is still not necessary to carry out the procedure when the flowerpot is in direct sunlight.

Flowers standing in the sun should not be sprayed

To avoid burns on the leaves, it makes sense to rearrange the flower or wait until the sun "leaves" the room.

Following these simple rules for spraying houseplants, you will be able to grow on your windowsill beautiful garden, which will delight you and your loved ones with lush color almost all year round.

How to put down a night glutton?

We are all a bit of a glutton. Show at least one person who does not like to eat delicious food or just treat...

Almost all flower growers are faced with pests, or plant diseases. Usually, chemicals are considered the most effective to combat them. But, like antibiotics on a person, chemicals act radically on the microflora of a plant! And, although pest control with folk remedies requires a lot of effort, it has a much more gentle effect.

1. Citrus peels

Dried citrus peels repel many insects! They can be laid out in a closet from moths, as well as in flower pots to fight midges and podura. For this, peels of any citrus fruits are suitable - lemon, orange, tangerine, lime, grapefruit. Spread them on the surface of the soil, or grind and sprinkle the earth into flower pot. It is better to do this the next day after watering, or 4-5 days before watering.

To combat a more serious pest - aphids, scale insects and mealybugs, in addition, spraying with infusion on citrus peel. For this 100 gr. dry or fresh raw materials pour a liter warm water and leave in a dark place for 4 days.

2. Garlic and onion

An infusion of garlic will help to cope with the whitefly, worm, tick and scale insects. To do this, chopped garlic is poured with boiling water at the rate of 1 head per liter of water. The “potion” that has been infused for 7 days is used for spraying. For 10 l. only 50 ml of water is enough. such a solution.

Garlic infusion helps with many "plant" diseases - spotting, rust, late blight. Moreover, garlic can be used together with the husk, or you can infuse the husk alone at the rate of 100 gr. husks per 10 liters of water (soak for a day).

Onion has a similar effect, its smell repels aphids, thrips, other sucking pests and mites, and is also a preventive measure for bacterial and fungal diseases. Fresh onions are grated, or chopped in a blender and poured with water in a ratio of 1: 1. The "fragrant" mixture is left in a closed jar for 8 days, then used for spraying at the rate of 20 ml. infusion for 10 liters of water.

Onion peel is also used in medicinal purposes as well as for the prevention of diseases and pests. For this 150 gr. husks pour 10 liters. boiling water, insist for a day and use in pure form. Such folk remedies for pests are used for garden and indoor plants in summer period so that you can ventilate the room, or carry out the procedure on the balcony :-). It is impossible to store infusions, it is advisable to use them immediately!

3. Soap green and laundry

pests leave invisible traces, which subsequently become the soil for the development of fungal diseases. 'Cause a soapy shower is useful procedure in the early stages of pest control! Using a soft sponge, the leaves and stems of the plant are wiped with soapy water and then rinsed with hot water. A solution of laundry soap in its pure form is used to combat aphids, scale insects, mites, scale insects. For this purpose, 200 gr. soap (can be grated) is dissolved in 10 liters. clean hot water and use for spraying.

Laundry soap, including used to increase the viscosity of medicinal infusions and insecticides. So that the solution settles on the leaves and is better absorbed, and not drained from them, a little soap is rubbed into the finished infusion.

Among natural preparations, green soap has gained recognition - an oil-based herbal remedy that can be purchased at any specialized store. The spectrum of its effects includes: aphids, worms, mites, scale insects, powdery mildew, rot, spotting, late blight. Norms of application and dosage are indicated on the package. This drug is good because it is completely harmless to humans, animals and beneficial insects.

4. Tobacco-shag and ash

Tobacco and ashes are used to remove biting and sucking insects: aphids, ticks, thrips, beetles, caterpillars, worms, etc. They also get rid of the flower midge. But it is pure tobacco that is suitable for plants, without impurities and flavorings, preferably as strong as possible! Moreover, fresh raw materials will also fit - tobacco leaves, or shag and even tobacco dust. An infusion is made on them: they are poured with hot water (at the rate of 1:10) and left for a day. The finished solution is diluted with water 2 times, for greater viscosity, laundry soap is added - 40 gr. for 10 l. The resulting mixture is carefully sprayed with plants.

A similar recipe is suitable for wood ash. However, it is worth considering that only pure materials - paper, wood - should serve as raw materials for medicinal ash. With dry tobacco and ash, you can lightly sprinkle the soil of potted flowers. Such a folk remedy for plant protection repels insects, including midges. Among other things, ash is a valuable fertilizer.

5. Potassium permanganate, furatsilin and soda

Manganese, as a trace element, is necessary for flowers. It improves growth, increases defenses, strengthens root system! Plants are watered with a weak solution of potassium permanganate, together with the solution they get useful element, and soil pests (root scale insects, caterpillars, bugs) - a dose of poison. At the same time, this procedure disinfects the soil for fungus and bacteria that cause diseases of the root system. However, in order not to burn the roots of the plant, the manganese solution must be made barely pink, just a few specks per 10 liters. water! It is easier to add a few drops of a pre-diluted manganese solution to the water for irrigation. This solution is also sprayed with flowers from aphids, mites, whiteflies.

Plain baking soda helps to deal with powdery mildew, fungal infections of the leaves, and also drives the weevil away. For this 30-40 gr. soda must be dissolved in 10 liters. water. To improve efficiency, you can add laundry soap. Plants are sprayed with the solution.

A solution of furacilin has a similar effect (tablets are cheap, sold at any pharmacy). For 1 liter hot water you need 2 crushed tablets. Plants are sprayed with a cool solution. Such products are safe for garden and indoor flowers.

6. Infusions and decoctions: celandine, dandelion, horsetail, nettle, wormwood, comfrey

Nettle is an excellent immunomodulator for decorative flowers. This wild healer is applicable as regular feeding! The infusion is watered under the root and sprayed to prevent almost all diseases and pests. To prepare the infusion 700 gr. fresh herbs pour 5 liters. hot water, cover and leave in a warm place. After a while, the solution will begin to ferment, it must be stirred regularly. Of course, it is easier to prepare such a “drug” in the country, or in own house. After all, he smells quite pronounced! The fermented mixture (usually on day 5) can be filtered and applied. For root dressings, the infusion is diluted 1:10 with water, and for foliar dressings, 1:20.

Similarly, in the summer, an infusion of comfrey, horsetail, or wormwood is prepared. Infusion of comfrey in composition can replace complex fertilizer: It is a valuable source of potassium and nitrogen. Wormwood also improves the immunity of flowers, is an excellent help in the fight against bacterial diseases, aphids, leaf-eating and sucking insects.

Horsetail is used for the prevention of diseases and pests. It strengthens the tissues of the plant, increases the immunity of flowers!

Such folk remedies for plants can also be used in dry form at the rate of 150 gr. dry raw materials per 10 liters. water. Infuse grass in cold water during the day, then bring to a boil in a water bath. Such an infusion is not diluted, it is used in its pure form for watering and spraying.

Among plants, celandine and dandelion are also famous for mutual assistance! Infusion of celandine is sprayed, or the plants are wiped from scale insects, mealybugs and thrips. For this 100 gr. dry grass is poured with a liter of boiling water and insisted for 2 days. The properties of dandelion are similar, plus it neutralizes the tick! It is better to use fresh raw materials - 50g. leaves and roots pour 1 liter. hot water and insist for 5 hours, after which it can be used for sheet processing.

7. Fragrant flowers: lavender, gypsophila, nasturtium, mateola, spices, marigolds and calendula

There are plants that, adjacent to other flowers, are able to create a barrier against pests and diseases. These are the so-called volatile plants! These include gypsophila, lavender, bicorn matiola, nasturtium, as well as spicy fragrant herbs- basil, coriander, mint, sage, thyme, lemon balm, even the usual dill and parsley, as well as the previously mentioned wormwood.

Why not grow a small garden, or a fragrant mini-garden on the balcony? The smell of such plants will scare away pests. Thus, once on the balcony, indoor flowers will be protected by natural flavors! And by planting fragrant plants and herbs on garden plot, you will not only decorate the flower bed, but also protect the flowers from the invasion " uninvited guests". Double benefit!

Important Rules

If you have diagnosed a pet with a disease, or found a pest on it, you should immediately take the following:

Place it in quarantine, isolated from other brethren, in order to avoid infection;

With a soft sponge and a solution of laundry soap, or a cotton pad moistened with calendula tincture, remove visible insects or plaque from the leaves;

Give the flower a warm shower, if possible, covering the ground in a pot with a bag;

Do not expose the patient to the sun, place him in a warm and bright place;

After foliar and root processing, fix the date in order to repeat the procedure after 7-10 days (all of the above recipes can be applied systematically);

Keep in mind that pests do not like humidity, so spray the plant more often, and if there is a fungal infection, on the contrary, reduce the humidity in the room so as not to aggravate the situation;

Carry out preventive measures - root and foliar top dressing herbal infusions every 10 days (read above) to stimulate the plant's immunity;

Regularly examine the wards so as not to "miss" a relapse.

Neem (Azadirachta indica) is a large evergreen tree originally from India. It thrives in hot dry climates. Neem oil is used as a natural pesticide. It is extracted from the seeds or kernels of the tree, although it can also be obtained from flowers, bark or leaves. Neem in India is called the "divine tree" or "village pharmacy". And indeed it is. Products made from it have proven their medicinal properties. Neem is used to make drugs that are antifungal, antibacterial, anthelmintic, antiviral and sedative. It also prevents the formation of dandruff. The trunk, roots and bark of the tree have astringent, tonic, antimalarial properties.

In Ayurvedic medicine, remedies prepared from this tree are considered as the main components in skin diseases. They are also used to heal boils and various ulcers. Neem is used in the production of face creams, toothpaste, soaps, shampoos, and other cosmetic products.

Neem oil is used as a biopesticide. It is used to control over 400 species of insects, including scale insects, false scale insects, cabbage worms, moth larvae and whiteflies. What is very important, unlike other pesticides, Neem oil is safe for human health.

Neem insecticidal oil

Azadirachtin (Azadirachtin) - the active ingredient in Neem oil disrupts the activity life cycle insects, preventing the development of larvae to the adult stage. Some data from scientists confirm that Neem oil is a powerful pesticide.

It also helps to strengthen plants and stimulate the production of chlorophyll.

In addition to azadirachtone, the oil contains solanine - Chemical substance, which is a strong pesticide. It is far more effective than the well-known synthetically created diethyltoluamide found in most artificial pesticides on the market.

How to apply

Neem oil can be sold neat or as special liquid, depending on this, the dosage for dilution in water changes.

Pure Neem oil (about 30 ml) is mixed with 3-3.5 liters of warm water (or room temperature), and also add 1 tbsp. l. soap so that the pesticide adheres better to the leaves of the plants.

The resulting solution is sprayed with all the plants in the garden several times for 2-3 weeks, every 3-7 days. After spraying, insects and pests will not sit on plants and eat them.

This natural pesticide deprives insects of the opportunity to reproduce, kills larvae and matured individuals.

Neem Oil Precautions:

1. It is best, of course, to nip pests in the bud, that is, to destroy insects at the stage of development than when they multiply and severely infect plants. Neem oil works best when the weather is warm, but when the insect population is not yet mature - April, May depending on the region when it is produced. Neem oil breaks down in the sun within a few days and is easily washed off in rainy weather. For one application, the effect may not be achieved, but constant pest control will bring the long-awaited deliverance from them.

Try not to spray during flowering, so as not to scare away the bees.

2. Read the instructions before buying the drug. First, you must clearly define what pests you are going to fight against. After all, sometimes, some gardeners buy all the preparations for the future in a row. Remember that some types of insecticides are effective against some insects and not others.

3. Always use gloves when working with insecticidal preparations contact with sensitive skin may cause dermatitis or inflammation.

Neem oil diluted in water is NOT stored, so use the entire solution at one time.
