Partitions in a wooden house with their own hands: a solid version, frame-panel, plasterboard and block structures. Interior partitions in a wooden house Installation of a wooden partition

We buy a house, and we see rooms in it that are not planned the way we need. The area of the combined rooms is not the same, the partition is not located there. Uncomfortable...
That we should demolish the existing internal brick wall and build another?

We are hindered by local conditions. It is impossible to build masonry in a new place, on a wooden floor, for this you need to remove the floor and lay out supports - concrete or brick pedestals that will bear a serious load from a brick wall.

The way out is the construction of a less massive, but no less functional wooden partition. Under it, additional supports are not needed.

Initial data

We broke the existing partition into one brick

and got such a huge space that we will have to divide in our own way:

Technology self erection wooden partition

Nothing complicated, this is the simplest constructor that adults love to play with. The most important thing is to determine the vertical of the wall, and the second most important thing is to set the lower and upper guides.

Guides

We fix the central bar vertically on the wall, which we control frenziedly with the level several times:

In order not to immediately “mow down”, you need to hammer (not completely) into the wall only one nail or wrap one long screw - approximately in the middle of the bar. On it you will rotate and correct the bar in level. After each hammered nail apply the level, checking if the vertical has shifted:

As a result, the bar is fastened tightly to the wall, the distance between the fasteners should be no more than 600 mm. From each edge of the bar, respectively - no more than 300 mm.

Further, strictly observing the vertical, the lower and upper guides from a bar of the same section are installed in the same way. Nail a bar to a private house wooden floor and it will not be difficult for a wooden ceiling, therefore, there is no need to paint events.

If you have such an opportunity that the floor is with a screed (which is unlikely in the living room) and the ceiling is made of concrete floors- well, well, use a puncher and dowel-nails.

And then the choice of material depends on the desired thickness of the wall. I decided that 100 mm would be very enough for me, so I stuffed another small bar of 25 mm on each side onto a 50 mm beam, and I already installed the plates on them.

Plates used chipboard polished. At your choice, you can take unpolished chipboard, plywood, OSB and any other materials. Just think - is it worth paying so much for a similar quality?

Do not be afraid of wood in terms of huge sound transmission. We chose this technology in order to deprive the wooden structure of this great negative quality. Further it will be clear.

Further actions

As you wish!

He'll be inside anyway, you can't see him. Whatever they write and say about typical frame forms, this is your hut. For example, I was reluctant to maintain strict squares and spend extra energy on washing down bars and extra bars, in fact. You need to save money, even though there are a lot of them.

There is no need to achieve supermonoliness and incredible strength of the frame itself from the bars. A wooden plate screwed to it will significantly strengthen the ties, serving as an additional plane and a very strong stiffening rib. And the second plate, on the other hand, will firmly fix the future partition.

Having assembled a timber frame of an arbitrary non-square shape, we attach one bottom plate to it:

This is a view from inside the wall. Pay attention to the location of the guides: inside the wall near the frame, the vertical is not only not respected, but even maliciously violated. Which does not prevent the wall itself from remaining even and vertical, but allows you to seriously save on expensive bars.

And here is the view from the other side:

There are horizontal main guides in the frame, they are located in the middle - to give stability and the ability to “attach” to them by mounting auxiliary ones.

This is a whole slab, I did not even cut or cut around the edges. Fortunately, I have the strength to carry it myself, without assistants. If you are working alone, being a construction hermit, it is recommended to either calculate the forces or saw the slabs to make it easier and more comfortable to carry. But in this case, it is also necessary to prepare the frame accordingly - so that each plate is sufficiently fixed at the ends. And for this you need to take into account the dimensions of the blanks.

Don't forget to check the vertical!

After that, we fix the second whole plate:

Inside view"

View "outside"

There is very little left on top - here you can’t do without measurements and trimmings. As well as at the end of the wall, where you will need to cut out additional elements.

In total, 2 whole slabs on each side, 2 “halves” on each side (sawed strictly in half), plus one for all additional ones, will go to the wall.

A total of seven per wall 4 meters long with a ceiling height of 2.75 m, plan when calculating the cost of materials.

Soundproofing

There is nothing better than having someone take care of you. For example, manufacturers of high-quality mineral wool insulation, which in combination are also soundproofing material.

Such insulation-sound insulators are made taking into account the performance of several functions, so you do not need to look for sound insulation separately. Question in additional convenience- materials sold in rolls are not as convenient to mount as tiled forms. They need to be unwound, cut, and it will not always be possible to observe the thickness of the mineral wool - it delaminates.

Plates of a specific size are more convenient to cut, and the whole assembly is simple.

Inside the finished frame, trying to tightly press the material to the already mounted plates, we lay the heat and sound insulation:

Then we repeat the operations with chipboard on the other side of the wall, and we get an almost completed structure:

When asked about the method of fastening and the number of hardware on chipboard sheet I answer:

1. Fasten with wood screws at least 35 mm long.
2. Be sure to fasten the plate around the edges.
3. The step along the edges must be at least 600 mm.
4. In the center, fix the plates so that it is “strong”. There is no need to look for non-existent technologies, especially since we have already violated them when we mounted a non-standard frame.

Joints and interfaces

All on it?

With a wooden structure - yes. Everything is clear there, but I won’t even talk about how to measure and cut. Measure with a tape measure, cut with a saw. Or an electric saw.

But there is one caveat: the joints particle boards it is better to immediately process, or rather, putty. So that the moisture that does exist in the air does not penetrate into the cuts and does not make them soak and swell. When you will finally finish the partition is still unknown, and you don’t need “swollen” joints at all.

In order to qualitatively and evenly putty the joints and interfaces of plates with walls, you need to use such simple materials as self-adhesive mesh and corners, plastic or aluminum.

Putty mesh

At the end of the work, when the mesh dried up and fixed, I preferred the entire wall, which I highly recommend to you:

As you can see, the joints are almost imperceptible - this is one continuous surface.

Undoubtedly, the tree also has disadvantages, such as instability to the difference in humidity conditions, susceptibility to warping and flammability. However modern technologies have stepped far forward and have long since learned to minimize all these defects of wood. Now there are a lot of antiseptic compounds that help protect wooden structures from adverse external influences, you just need to choose the right compositions and comply with all requirements when applying them.

Arrangement and installation of wooden partitions from one and two rows of boards

1 - board;

2 - soundproof material;

3 - floor covering;

4 - plinth and cornice;

5 - floor beam;

Internal walls of a solid, single type can be made of edged board thickness from 40 to 50 mm and a width of 100 - 200 mm, a wide variety of pine, maple, oak, alder are used, depending on the financial capabilities and taste preferences of the owners. The level can also be taken as the basis of the structure. floor covering(pos.3, fig.1), and floor beam (pos.5, fig.1), there is no significant difference in this, the only difference will be in the sequence installation work.

To begin with, measurements are made of the area where you plan to install the partition. In order to simplify this task, we will first mark the floor, walls, to which the partition will adjoin and the ceiling. The height of the room must be measured at several points in order to eliminate the error of the irregularities of the main structures. Two parallel lines are beaten off with a masking cord, along the entire perimeter of the section of the room, the distance between them should be equal to the thickness of the boards used. Then, along the marked lines, a plinth and a cornice (item 4, Fig. 1) are nailed (screwed, glued), these parts are a rail or beam measuring 30 ... 50x30 ... 50 mm of triangular section. The element configuration can be equal-shelf and with different sizes shelves, everything will depend on the size and weight of the structure that it must fix. As a result, you will get a groove, in which the boards will actually be installed. There is one subtlety, it is worth taking note of, one of the rails should not reach the wall, by the width of the board, plus 100 mm, this will allow you to easily put the parts into the groove and ensure ease of installation. The length of the boards should be equal height premises, minus 10 - 20 mm, the gap to ensure the integrity of the structure during the shrinkage of the house. To give the structure additional rigidity, the boards are fastened together with wooden or metal dowels. To do this, holes are drilled in the side face along the entire length of the board, at a distance of 800 - 1200 mm. The holes are arranged in such a sequence that they are offset relative to each other in each subsequent vertical connection. The diameter of the dowel should be slightly different from the diameter of the hole in order to ensure a clear connection without play or gaps. The straightness of the construction plane is much easier to maintain using an impromptu guideline, which can be made from two cords by attaching them to opposite corners.

If you intend to decorate the surface decorative elements, then they are attached after the installation work is completed. But sometimes part of a solid partition is replaced with patterned fragments that give a special charm. In this case, in places where a carved insert is planned, the boards are fixed with temporary bonds, and the intended part of the partition is sawn out. A frame is inserted into the opening, which will simultaneously serve as a spacer and a frame for the openwork fragment. Do not forget to take into account that the tree is subject to shrinkage, so dimensions the sawn section should be 10 - 15 mm larger than the insert. At the end of the assembly, it is recommended to seal the butt joints with tow, flax or jute, if desired, the fiber can be moistened in gypsum milk.

Surface treatment with various antiseptic compounds and application of the finishing layer are final stage in the installation of an interior partition.

The construction of the inner wall of two rows of boards looks somewhat different, although the general assembly algorithm is preserved. The fundamental difference is that a bar is used instead of a plinth square section with dimensions 40…50x40…50 mm. At the ends of the finished boards, a groove is selected to the height of the beam and a width of half the thickness of the workpiece. This threshold ensures that each piece fits snugly on the main rail. The space between the two rows of boards, if desired, can be filled with soundproofing material, but just an air gap will also play a positive role.

Wooden frame partition

As the name implies, the basis of this type of construction is a wooden frame. It is assembled from racks (bar with a side of 50 ... 70 cm), which are connected into a single structure of the upper and bottom harness(beam with a side of 90 ... 100 cm). The markup is performed similarly to the previous technology. The strapping beam is attached to the floor and ceiling, restrictive strips are nailed to it, which strictly regulate the distance between the racks. In the manufacture of racks, the timber is trimmed, i.e. using a square, markings are applied to ensure its perpendicularity. This will eliminate the distortion of the part in general design. After installing the bar in place and leveling, it is screwed with 90 mm self-tapping screws, both from above and from below. Then the frame is reinforced with transverse bars, creating a kind of honeycomb structure. Horizontal parts are also fastened with self-tapping screws, 70 mm long. After assembling the structure, one side is “sewn up” with the material that you chose initially. It can be a block house, lining, plywood, MDF, OSB, etc. Then the frame cells are filled with soundproofing material, and the second side of the wall is installed.

Wooden partitions mobile (transforming)

1 - mounting option on the corners;

3 - roller mechanisms with fasteners;

4 - lower floor roller;

Partitions - transformers are very popular, when folded they occupy a minimum usable area. Another undoubted advantage of this design is that it can be opened both in full length and in part, which is very convenient, especially in small apartments. Basically, the assembly of such partitions is made from finished parts that are manufactured in the factory. The set consists of several wings resembling a narrow door, fasteners and rail guides. A set of this type of partitions is shown in Fig. 2:

Mobile interior partitions include structures made as part of the interior. It can be a mobile shelf, cabinet or rack. It is not so difficult to make a mobile rack, it is even easier to separate the recreation area with it and there is no need to build walls. It is easy to determine the size, the larger the room, the higher and wider the partition. Optimal Height For small apartment no more than 170 mm, and a width of 80 mm. We saw the boards, so that the ends after the cut remain even, we wrap the material with masking tape. Please note, fasten the parts with self-tapping screws, after a while the rack will loosen, and cracks will appear at the joints. Therefore, it is better to plant boards on wooden dowels. A dowel is a cylindrical rod with rounded ends, with a cross-sectional diameter of 6 to 20 mm, and a length of 15 to 150 mm. Holes for wooden edging are made with a milling cutter, if such a machine is not available, you can use a conventional drill, you just need to drill very carefully. It is necessary to observe the absolute perpendicularity of the main plane. When installing the dowel, you should ideally get a right angle, which will simplify the process of assembling a wooden partition and the design will turn out without distortions. One more thing, we process the surface of the parts with fine-grained sandpaper, preferably zero, then it will be smooth, and you certainly will not catch a splinter. Interior partition - the rack will always have attractive appearance, if you cover it with stain, preferably alcohol, it is suitable for any wood, and it dries much faster than water stain. After applying the composition, the parts must be left to dry, as a rule, it takes only a couple of hours. Now you can start assembling. We fill the holes with wood glue, insert dowels into them and drive them in with a rubber mallet. In the process of connecting the parts, they must be pressed tightly against each other with the help of clamps and let dry adhesive composition. To make the structure easy to move from place to place, we install rollers to its base, in this case it will be appropriate to use self-tapping screws, however, you must first drill a hole, otherwise the bottom of the rack will crack. Then, on one side of the shelves, small metal hooks are screwed in, with their help the panels of the back wall are attached, or you can simply pull on a regular fabric. The service life will increase if one layer of varnish is used as a finishing layer, and preferably two or three.

Internal partitions in a house made of timber are an indispensable part of the building, which will allow you to delimit the space of the rooms in a way that is convenient for the owners of the house. They can be built in several ways, depending on the financial capacity of the owner and the characteristics of the project. It is possible to install partitions in a house from a bar both directly during the construction of walls, and during work on redevelopment of the house. How can this be done, what is needed to build additional walls?

Options for building partitions in a house from a bar

Partitions in log house it is customary to make of wood so that they fit organically into the common space. However, other design solutions. In some cases, the wooden frame is sheathed with plasterboard and other materials, and designer glass partitions can also be used in some interiors.

And yet the most common solution is the interior walls, made of the same material as the house itself - from thin logs or timber. There are several types of partitions:

  • Bar partitions are the ideal solution for wooden house. This is an opportunity to build a solid and dense inner wall, which will have good soundproofing properties. For its manufacture, you can use a beam, the thickness of which is 100 mm, this will allow the wall to withstand the necessary loads.

For example, on such a partition you can attach bookshelf. They look aesthetically pleasing, as the surface of the beam allows you to equip a flat wall.

They can have a planed and non-planed surface, additional finishing can be anyone. Often, shield partitions are additionally finished with GVL to get a perfectly flat wall.

The internal partitions of a house made of timber are designed not only to delimit the space of rooms, but also to prevent the spread of sound. In addition, they act as an additional means of thermal insulation, as they retain heat well.

Bar partition - The best decision, as it will be both strong enough and easy to manufacture. In addition, it looks most organically in the interior of the house.

How to make an interior wall out of timber

The device of partitions in a house made of timber is usually carried out simultaneously with the construction of walls according to the developed project. However, sometimes a five-wall log cabin is erected first, and only then the interior space is delimited by additional walls. It's not that hard to do, but it takes skill. carpentry and experience with tools.

For a partition, it is better to use a dried profiled beam, as it gives minimal deformation during shrinkage, and it will be very easy to assemble the inner wall thanks to the protrusions and grooves on the upper and lower sides of the material. How to make a partition in a timber house? To do this, you need to know a few important nuances:

  1. From the main bearing wall the timber partition is connected using grooves. If the inner wall is thin, the width of the groove is equal to the width of the beam, if it is thick, spikes are made at its ends, which are inserted into the grooves in the walls.
  2. The construction of the partition begins with the lower bar. At the same time, it is desirable that at least the lower part of the wall be made of larch: this material resists moisture, and the wall will not start to rot. Exactly lower crowns houses suffer most from high humidity, so their protection must be given Special attention. If the lower beam is not made of larch, a thin waterproofing gasket is required between it and the subsequent beam.
  3. Between the bars inner wall jute or linen fiber is laid - this material performs a heat and sound insulating role. Its use reduces the audibility, which will make life in the house more comfortable.
  4. Between themselves, the beam of the inner wall is fastened wooden dowels. This ensures the strength of the structure and its strictly vertical arrangement. The dowels are installed in a checkerboard pattern, they must be placed at a distance of 150 mm from each other, the distance from the wall must also be at least 150 mm.
  5. When the partition is assembled, it must be sanded in the same way as the load-bearing wall. After that, it is covered with an antiseptic to protect it from decay and a finish is carried out.

For a frame partition, a square-section beam with a side of 5 cm is used, it begins to be fixed from the sides. The top strut should protrude from the ceiling by about 10 cm, it must be attached with long screws. This is necessary so that the partition does not interfere with the subsequent shrinkage of the timber house.

The frame bars are arranged in increments of 40-50 cm, the first frame bar is attached to the floor with anchor bolts. Under it, it is desirable to lay a jute insulation for soundproofing. Pins are inserted into the lower link, under which recesses are made in the next beam.

When a house is designed from a bar, the partitions are placed in such a way as to provide minimal amount passage rooms. Modern programs allow you to create a three-dimensional model and evaluate how convenient the location of the rooms will be, and where it is better to leave openings for door blocks.

A house made of timber allows you to build the maximum convenient layout. The location of the partitions can be any, which allows you to provide the necessary area of all rooms in the house.

Wooden partitions are a great solution for dividing the space of an apartment or house, making themed zoning. With their help, you can create a niche or make another room. In addition, wood panels can be a good substitute for furniture. When redeveloping a room, it is precisely such structures that allow you to create a comfortable space, you just need to install them correctly.

Frame partitions in a wooden house

Structures can be installed in the premises different types. The lightest are frame partitions made of wood, also modular partitions with glass can be attributed to structures with low weight. If we compare qualities such as ease of installation and functionality, then wooden interior partitions are significantly superior to foam concrete, brick partitions, walls made of shell rock and stone.

Wooden panels can be used where heavy structures cannot be installed. If the house has a weak foundation, the building stands on floating soils, then wooden structures are best suited. Such partitions should be installed on loggias and attics, on built-on floors.

Panels can be used in the interior in several ways. With their help, designers separate the kitchen and living areas, installing panels in studio apartments and loft apartments.

Sliding structures should be used if several rooms need to be combined into one as soon as possible or do zoning. Installation of structures will allow you to separate a small space, for example, equip a dressing room in the bedroom. Using this technique, in the nursery, you can select a separate play area.

Historical reference

If we talk about when wooden partitions appeared, then we can say with confidence that structures for zoning space have been used for a long time. Screens were widely known in antiquity. Yes, at the time ancient egypt in the houses one could find screens made of Nile reeds. They allowed to fence sleeping area from the main room.

During the time of Catherine II, screens covered with Chinese silk could be found in imperial palaces and palaces of aristocrats.

Interior partitions in our time

Today, wooden structures allow you to divide the room into several zones. Panels between rooms can be installed immediately, even at the initial stage of construction, or after its completion, if the installation of structures was not originally planned in the project.

In addition, panels are installed to expand the doorway or move it to another location. The installation of partitions does not take much time.

Before starting the installation, it is worthwhile to study the stages of assembling wood panels well and see a photo of how it should turn out. Well, if a person already has the skills to work with wood, in this case it will be much easier for him to do the job. If you want to make partitions in wooden house, but there is no experience, it is best to invite masters to work.

If we talk about the advantages of wooden partitions, then among the main ones we can name environmental friendliness, ease of installation, processing and repair.

You can mount panels of any configuration. In addition, by combining materials, you can achieve the desired decorative effect, which will decorate the interior, make it modern and stylish. Wooden partitions, if they are deformed, are easily replaced with new ones.

To disadvantages wooden structures It should be attributed that they all need additional processing. We are talking about applying antifungal and refractory agents to the panels. It must also be taken into account that wooden structures cannot provide a high degree soundproofing. It is necessary to take care of high-quality electrical wiring - insulation must be done by professionals.

Installation of partitions in a wooden house

All stationary structures, which are installed indoors with their own hands, should be as stable as possible.

The life of the residents of the house depends on it. Fire resistance and sound insulation of partitions are important. The panel must be free of cracks and the structure must be cleaned and inspected from time to time. It is necessary to ensure that termites and rodents do not appear inside the partition.

If movable partitions are installed in the house, it is very important that they are securely fixed so that they have latches. An important characteristic is the ease of movement of the structure.

Wood can be combined with different elements- plexiglass, transparent and colored plastic. Often used and stained glass- it looks very impressive. Through such transparent walls, a lot of sunlight enters the rooms. The frame is often made of pine, ash, beech or maple.

To build a simple partition, you need to purchase boards of 40-50 mm. If we talk about the length, then they should be a centimeter shorter than the height from floor to ceiling. When performing installation, it is necessary to use a plumb line.

Nail two sticks to the floor in such a way that you get a groove. At the ceiling it is necessary to nail a triangular bar. After that, you should place the panel in the lower groove, press it against the wall and nail it to the upper bar. Gaps can be filled with filler. The second triangular bar should fix the panel, after pressing the boards tightly. The wall can be finished with drywall or simply plastered.

Summarizing

In the rooms, you can install partitions of different types. It can be mobile and folding structures, stationary and combined partitions. Also, collapsible structures are made in the premises.

If you want to install a mobile partition, you need to buy a hinged mechanism. In addition, you will need to install guides. The design is made according to a previously developed design.

Sometimes massive interior walls are not suitable for a small wooden house. The material of the walls from which the house is built, the foundation determine the choice of materials for interior partitions. Any building should be safe first and foremost.

What you need to know about the interior walls of a wooden house?

Any design of the inner wall is self-supporting, it is necessary for the formation of the interior, space zoning. The partition is erected in compliance with building codes and requirements for:

  • sound insulation;
  • thermal conductivity;
  • fire resistance;
  • hygroscopicity;
  • environmental friendliness,

applicable to the entire structure of the house. The partition is not a bearing support; floor supports cannot be placed on it. They are not always included in the project of the house, they are installed, guided by the need to create separate rooms for one purpose or another.

Important! A properly erected partition should be easily dismantled if necessary, for which appropriate fasteners are used. Correct design one that can be rearranged to another place in the process of redevelopment of the house.

The difference between walls and partitions

When redevelopment, it often becomes necessary to change the configuration of the space. Walls cannot be moved, but partitions can. Walls are a load-bearing element of the structure, their function is to transfer the load of floors and roofs, as well as their own weight to the base or foundation. The wall differs from it in that it enters the floor pie, cutting it. The partition, as well as the wall, covers the height from floor to ceiling, but does not have a bearing function.

Partitions have different requirements than walls, they may be lighter and not as strong as walls.

Interior walls rest on the floor and rise to the ceiling, their density and mass should not exceed those of the load-bearing walls. All partitions are installed after shrinkage of a wooden house. Premature installation can lead to unpleasant consequences.

The load-bearing walls in the process of shrinking the house sag over time, while the partitions are not subject to this phenomenon or dry out more slowly, sinking as a result of the overlap, deforming them.

Partition wall material

For zoning a wooden house, there are many options for choosing a material.

Brick, cinder blocks, building stone are materials that cannot be used to build partitions in a wooden house. They need a separate foundation, a separate design, which is extremely inappropriate.

The most reasonable would be to use materials such as:

  • bar:
  • board;
  • drywall;
  • frame and panel materials, fiberboard, chipboard, plywood, OSB;

Each material has its own advantages, purpose and application possibilities.

A partition made of timber is not a cheap pleasure. However, among the advantages one can note an extremely attractive appearance, high performance characteristics, timber holds heat well, does not let noise through. Installation of this design does not require special insulation, especially in the case of using profiled timber, which is also easy to install.

Installation of the partition takes little time, is considered the fastest of all options. A bar 100x100mm should be used, in extreme cases, 150x150mm.

It should be said that any wooden structures are most consistent with the stylistic meaning of the interior, as well as the environmental performance of a wooden structure. In addition, they are convenient to use, easy to nail the hanger, mirror, picture. They can be finished in different ways, and plaster, and wallpaper and decorative coating, varnish, stain. Partitions made of wood in any case should be treated with an antiseptic to exclude the possibility of the appearance of fungus, mold, decay and flame retardants, fire-fighting impregnations.

Sometimes a solid partition is made of boards, this is a heavy construction, when using boards from 50mm, an additional lag is required for support to compensate for the weight. The boards are placed vertically, a gap of 2 mm is required from above.

Plasterboard partitions

Plasterboard structures are inexpensive, quite easy to install, quickly erected, have good performance sound insulation, heat saving, if equipped with an insulating layer. inside a metal or wooden frame it is possible to lay engineering networks and communications.

As a rule, a 50x50 beam is used for the frame, if increased sound insulation is required - 50x100, metallic profile standard. Modern moisture resistant drywall can be used even in rooms with high humidity. The material is considered environmentally friendly.

Frame-panel partitions

It is clear that these are structures involving the construction of a frame made of timber. Sheathing of the frame can be made:

  1. plywood, an environmentally friendly material made from wood veneer as a result of peeling wood, birch, other hardwood, as well as coniferous trees, plywood can warp from moisture, swell and delaminate; disadvantages include uncomfortable sheet sizes of 1525x1525;
  2. Fiberboard, fibreboard or hardboard are produced by hot pressing of cellulose, synthetic polymer materials, it may contain paraffin, rosin, resins, as a rule, the material includes fire retardants, antiseptics, so the environmental friendliness of the material raises some doubts, however, as well as strength, it is better to choose fiberboard of the TSN-40 brand, which is the hardest and most durable;
  3. Chipboard, chipboard is made from wood chips, shavings and sawdust by pressing on impact high temperature, the composition includes formaldehydes, phenols, resins with a total mass of up to 18%, this inexpensive material not considered harmless due to the presence of harmful volatile compounds, the use of the material requires airing the regular change of furniture, chipboard material not quite practical for everyday use, the reason for this is the low ability to hold fasteners, after the dismantling of which there are recesses and dents that are unpleasant to the eye.
  4. OSB, oriented strand board, is a relatively new material, easy to use, durable and reliable, as it is made from large wood chips 25 mm long, 4 mm thick by pressing using adhesives, material is light, with low thermal conductivity, high sound insulation, resistant to severe mechanical stress, however, just like plywood does not like a humid environment, it is susceptible to fungi and other bio-influences, has poor fire-fighting properties, the environmental safety of the material also raises questions.

Whatever material the partitions are made of, their purpose is to zone the space, therefore, when choosing a material, you should think about the weight of the material, its effect on health, fire safety and sanitary and hygienic compliance with residential premises.

Often design structures are made in wooden houses, for which plastic, forged metal, fabrics, and glass are used. The scope for creativity is not limited. Partitions in two-story buildings require the calculation of the support on which they will be placed.

The device of the frame-shield partition

Design features

The design features of the partitions can be presented in three versions, each of which is applicable in a wooden structure. The most common type constructive solution considered to be frame-shield. The frame is made of timber, as already noted above 50x50 or 50x100, the interior space is laid with material for insulation and sound insulation. The frame racks are placed at a distance of 50 cm, the vertical racks are reinforced with a transverse strapping. Rigidity is achieved with triangular-shaped fasteners or a tenon-groove system. The frame is sheathed with plywood or other materials.

It is preferable to use mineral wool, pave vapor barrier film inside the frame.
