Wallpapering ceilings and walls, technology for preparing walls for wallpapering. Technology for wallpapering the ceiling Technology for preparing walls for wallpapering, wallpapering on uneven walls and corners

When it comes to finishing the ceiling surface, people in most cases consider only three options: installation stretch ceiling, installation suspended structure and painting. It would seem that there is not much to choose from, but there is a fourth option, which has been used for decades, but today for some reason it is becoming a thing of the past. We are now talking about wallpapering. Ceiling wallpaper was not always glued, mainly because gluing it is quite difficult and inconvenient. This article was written so that even a beginner can understand how to hang wallpaper on the ceiling.

To begin with, this finishing option has always been original, because it gave wide design possibilities. Wallpaper allows you to create unique interiors that you won’t find in other houses or apartments.

As for other advantages of this method, these include:

  • no need to frequently paint the ceiling if it fades over time;
  • no need for significant financial costs associated with the arrangement of tension/suspended structures.

In other words, wallpaper is the best option according to several criteria at once. However, it should be remembered that the choice of material must be approached with all responsibility (this is especially true for rooms with high humidity).

Now let's look at the gluing process itself. This procedure, as noted above, is extremely inconvenient: it’s not easy to glue wallpaper onto walls, but here all the work is done overhead.

For which rooms is wallpapering suitable?

It is not suitable for every room. Embossed colored ceilings are known to visually make a room smaller, so this method is suitable for large rooms - say, a living room, where you can not only experiment using different textures, but also hide imperfections in the finishing. The fact is that the latter are less noticeable in large rooms than in small ones.

The ceiling, covered with wallpaper, also has a large set of visual effects. With its help, for example, you can both make a room more comfortable and divide it into several zones. It is quite obvious that the ability to delimit rooms is especially important in one-room apartments, where one room serves as an office, a living room, and a bedroom. Finally, the porosity of the wallpaper also provides additional sound insulation.

Stage one. Deciding on the type of wallpaper

First, you need to familiarize yourself with the features of some types of wallpaper, and also find out which option is more suitable for finishing the ceiling.

  1. Paper. The most common type of material, characterized by low cost. Good choice in case of cosmetic repairs.
  2. Liquid. Who doesn’t know, such wallpaper is a special liquid mixture that, after application, gives a seamless and perfectly smooth surface.
  3. Vinyl. Very popular today, they are distinguished by durability, strength and moisture resistance.
  4. Non-woven. Such wallpapers are especially durable, elastic, and abrasion-resistant.
  5. Textile. They consist of two layers - a paper (or non-woven) base and a textile fabric.

We have not considered all types of wallpaper present on the current market, and this is of no use. Instead, let's return to the main topic, namely wallpapering the ceiling with your own hands.

GOST 30834-2002. Wallpaper. Definitions and graphic symbols. File for download.

Stage two. We prepare everything you need

As for the wallpaper itself, there are no restrictions in terms of their choice - you can use any of the options listed above. For example, the starry sky is very original method ceiling surface design.

Note! Wallpapering for painting deserves special attention. Modern models the material can be painted up to 15 times, which means that if you are tired of the color, then it is not at all necessary to remove the previous finish - instead, you can simply repaint it.

If the ceiling in the room is low, then it is preferable to use wallpaper light colors, and always with small and dim drawings. This will visually raise the ceiling, and light wallpaper suitable for almost any interior. In order to reduce the height of the ceiling, you need, on the contrary, to use dark colors. However, this is a matter of taste, so no one can stop you from using the option that you personally like for gluing.

You will also need the following tools:

  • stepladder (or durable table, sawhorses);
  • brushes;
  • bucket;
  • rags;
  • a construction mixer (in extreme cases, you can use a regular wooden stick) to stir the glue;
  • pencil;
  • roulette;
  • roller (the handle should be long and the length of the pile should be medium);
  • a special tray for the roller (thanks to it the glue will be distributed evenly).

Note! The strips must be laid parallel to the window. With natural light coming from the window, the joints will be less noticeable. For this reason, trimming wallpaper should be done taking into account the longitudinal size of the room.

And one more thing: it’s better to do the gluing together. One will glue the wallpaper, and the other will hold the edges of the strips and make sure that the installation is done correctly. Although this can be done independently (by folding the canvas into an “accordion”), but only if you have a lot of experience.

Stage three. Preparing the ceiling

One of the main advantages of wallpapering is that it is not necessary to remove the old covering from the ceiling. But if there is whitewash, then it is advisable to remove it and then putty the surface twice. If there was already wallpaper on the ceiling before, they also need to be torn off.

If work surface uneven or has significant slopes, then it needs to be leveled (in particularly serious cases, drywall is used for leveling). However, this again depends on your budget, as well as what kind of renovations you will be doing.

Prices for putty

putty

If wallpapering will be done on a puttied surface, then before starting work it must be properly treated. You can use an acrylic primer for these purposes, applying it to the ceiling with a regular brush.

When the primer layer dries (and this will happen quite quickly), you can begin directly gluing the wallpaper. Let us also note that priming the ceiling is an optional procedure, but wallpaper on a primed surface, which has been repeatedly proven, sticks, sticks and dries much better.

dried primer in mandatory sand it down. Also, the treated surface must be marked in such a way that the strips of material are glued at an angle of 90 degrees relative to one of the walls of the room. Seal the area where the chandelier will be hung using masking tape. Don't forget to turn off the electricity before gluing.

Stage four. Cutting the wallpaper correctly

It's no secret that to hang wallpaper, you first need to cut it according to the required sizes. For this reason, you should definitely know how to cut without ruining the material. Below is an algorithm of necessary actions.

First, take the roll and place it so that the front side “looks” down.

Using a tape measure, measure the appropriate length, then mark the location with a pencil.

Wallpaper glue prices

wallpaper glue

Where we put the mark, we bend the material (the front part should be on top) and smooth out the resulting bend.

At the end, we take a stationery knife and cut the strip along the bend (more precisely, along inside the latter).

Stage five. Draw a line for the first strip

When the ceiling is properly prepared and the wallpaper is cut into strips of the required length, we need to mark a line along which we will glue the first sheet of wallpaper.

To make the line as even as possible, we hammer in a couple of nails along the width next to the ceiling on opposite walls. We tie and pull the rope tightly between these nails, having previously rubbed it with chalk. Next, we pull back and sharply lower the rope - as a result, a white line will remain on the ceiling, along which we will glue the first strip.

Pay attention! The line must be marked before the actual wallpapering begins.

Stage six. Let's start wallpapering

Here, a lot depends on the type of wallpaper chosen for the room. If we are talking about, say, vinyl or paper, then the glue should be applied directly to the wallpaper sheets themselves. If non-woven wallpaper is used, the adhesive mixture should be applied to the ceiling surface. The adhesive that was applied to non-woven wallpaper must be kept for several minutes, while for paper wallpaper this is unacceptable - the material should be laid on the ceiling immediately after applying the adhesive.

Let us add that the strips of material must be laid parallel to the window opening, as was already mentioned at the beginning of the article. Thanks to this, the joints will be practically invisible. When everything is ready, we get to work. For the convenience of visitors, the instructions are presented in table form.

Table. Pasting ceiling wallpaper.

Steps, no.Brief description

Stir the glue. It must be very thick to securely fix the wallpaper.

Take the first strip and apply the adhesive mixture to it, spreading it from the center to the edges. It is important that the glue never gets on the front of the wallpaper.

It all depends on how many people are doing the pasting. If you do this alone, then fold the glue-coated strip into an accordion shape, then glue along the previously marked line, gradually straightening the material. As you glue, smooth the material with a roller or a special smoothing brush. If two people are working, then one must climb onto the trestle, holding the edge of the strip. The second one at this time should hold the second edge and monitor the process.

Now we squeeze out the remaining adhesive solution and air from under the wallpaper strip. For this purpose, we take a clean roller and roll it, moving from the center to the edges. To remove excess glue, use a sponge or rag.

We perform similar actions with the remaining wallpaper strips. Difficulties here can arise only with the adjustment of the adjacent strip to the already glued one. We do this end-to-end, without overlap. If there is some kind of pattern on the wallpaper, then we need to combine adjacent stripes (we need to take care of this at the stage of cutting the material).

Pay attention! There should be no drafts in the room during gluing. It is recommended not to open windows and doors for several days after completion of work.

If you work alone, you can make your own convenient device, designed to support the strips, from a plasterboard profile, connecting it with the letter “T”. The video below clearly shows how to wallpaper a ceiling yourself.

To seal joints you can use ceiling plinth.

Common mistakes when gluing

The most common defect is material lag. This can happen after gluing it to old and peeling plaster. To avoid this defect, you must first remove the layer of plaster or paint. This is especially true in the case of lime or chalk whitewash. After removing the old coating, the surface must be treated with fixing paint.

When gluing, it is advisable to apply glue both to the ceiling and to the wallpaper. As a rule, special adhesive solutions for heavy types are used for this. of this material. Moreover, it is recommended to dilute the glue somewhat thicker than indicated in the manufacturer's instructions. Samu ceiling surface should be processed, and the smaller the thickness of the wallpaper sheets, the more careful the alignment should be. If thick textured wallpaper is used, then leveling can be done less carefully, since small defects will not be noticeable. Sanding and priming, as noted earlier, will help improve grip.

Prices for suspended ceilings

suspended ceiling

Please pay special attention on air bubbles under the material, because they will be especially noticeable when the lighting is on.

Finally, to avoid getting wet through, you should not soak the wallpaper for too long, and the glue layer should not be too thick.

Rules of care

To extend the life of the wallpaper, you can coat it with varnish. Most paintable wallpaper can easily withstand at least several stains, so this finishing option is extremely economical. And if the wallpaper comes off, coat the fallen edges with glue and press them to the surface with a clean roller.

As for embossed wallpaper, they are distinguished by the fact that they absorb dust well and unpleasant odors. For this reason, such material needs periodic cleaning, for which you can use a vacuum cleaner, dry cloth or brush. Moisture-resistant wallpaper can be wiped with damp cloths.

Summing up

Actually, we can end here. We found out that gluing ceiling wallpaper is quite a difficult task, but if you wish, you can handle everything on your own. The main difficulty of the process is that you need to complete all the steps listed and described above. If you strictly follow the instructions, there should be no problems.

There are a number of requirements for preparing the basis for wallpapering walls and ceilings, compliance with which will make the work easy, and the wallpaper will last a long time and reliably. You will find out in the article what it is technology for preparing walls for wallpapering.

The requirements for preparing the base for gluing are the same for both walls and ceilings.

The base everywhere should be smooth, even, and as flat as possible. All corners, and the area of walls near the corners a meter and a half to the side, must be perfectly vertical and straight.

Ideally, gluing is carried out on well-sanded and primed plaster or drywall. Professional craftsmen advise priming plaster twice, the first time with a primer deep penetration. It binds dust and strengthens the base well, seeping deep into its pores. And you can prime the second time with wallpaper glue already diluted to the required consistency.

This surface treatment not only guarantees reliable wallpaper adhesion for decades! It makes the pasting process much more convenient. After all, on a double-primed base, the canvas moistened with glue can be adjusted longer.

In this case, it allows you to damage an element of the embossed design with less risk, or tear it accidentally paper wallpaper.

Wallpapering walls, technology for preparing walls for wallpapering

(continuation)

The technology for preparing walls for wallpapering is quite simple and will not pose any difficulties even for novice craftsmen.

Pasting begins with determining the place where the first strip will lie, as well as marking, which consists of drawing a vertical line on the wall, parallel to which the first strip will be glued.

Then they cut it required quantity whole canvases, and glue is applied to 2-3 of them with a roller. Please note that there is a different glue for each type of wallpaper, and it is advisable to cut the wallpaper with a small margin in height, especially if the junction of the wall and the ceiling is not covered with baguettes (ceiling plinth).

To apply the glue, the sheets are laid out on a clean piece of polyethylene, this guarantees that no debris will get into the glue from the floor. After waiting for the time required for the type of wallpaper to be impregnated with glue, glue the first strip onto the wall, aligning the canvas along the applied line, first at the top, then at the bottom.

Then, using a wallpaper roller, carefully iron the entire panel, removing air bubbles from under it. After gluing the second strip, the joint area is smoothed well with a conical wallpaper roller. If you do everything carefully, then later even you will not be able to find the seam!

Technology for preparing walls for wallpapering, wallpapering on uneven walls and corners

Special attention is required when gluing wallpaper on the wall in the corners. Try to ensure that the canvas fits tightly to the entire surface of the corner along its entire length. When moving the canvas to another wall, check with a level that it is vertical so that there is no distortion.

If the level shows unevenness of a wall or corner, it is recommended to cut the canvas along the length and join the two halves together. inner corner. In this way, it will be possible to avoid unevenly glued canvas, which will cause all other canvases to lie unevenly as well.

Continuing to paste the wall from the corner, you should check how evenly it is pasted using a plumb line or level.

Socket covers and switches are removed during pasting, and after the wallpaper glue has dried, holes are carefully cut in the right places.

Wallpapering the ceiling

You have already learned a little about how to properly prepare the walls before wallpapering. But how is wallpapering the ceiling done? Read on!

You can wallpaper the ceiling in almost the same way as you can wallpaper the walls, but there are several additional nuances in this matter.

The wallpaper should be positioned in the direction of the light so that the seams are less noticeable in side sunlight.

Wallpaper on the ceiling is glued only to flat, even and smooth surface, so attention should be paid to preparing the base - removing old paint, leveling the surface and straightening the corners. Before starting work, it is necessary to remove the lamps from the ceiling and insulate the wires.

Wallpapering the ceiling begins with markings. Start by drawing a straight line on the ceiling along the width of the wallpaper, along which it will then be glued. If, when wallpapering a wall, a stepladder was enough, then much longer pieces go to the ceiling, so the work must begin by building a platform for the entire length of the room.

At limited budget one of the most economical options finishing the ceiling is decorating it with ceiling wallpaper. Fortunately, the variety of choice of materials makes it possible to create interesting and original interiors even in conditions disabilities. Planning to make a quick and inexpensive refreshment cosmetic repairs, for many apartment owners, the stumbling block is the question of how to stick wallpaper on the ceiling. Let's look at the main points of this rather complex process at first glance.

Wall and ceiling wallpaper: what is the difference

On construction market ceiling wallpaper, How separate species, do not highlight. To decorate the ceiling, paintable wallpaper, which has many textures, is mainly used.

Wallpaper intended for the ceiling has a two-layer and dense structure. Their surface is in most cases embossed, which allows them to easily hide minor flaws and minor defects in the ceiling. Compared to conventional wall wallpaper, ceiling wallpaper is more durable and thicker.

Ceiling wallpaper can be paper, fabric or synthetic base. Paper and fabric, which are canvases glued together in two layers, are used to decorate dry residential premises. Non-woven wallpaper, consisting of textile and cellulose fibers, is ideal for decorating kitchens and bathrooms.

Most often, manufacturers produce wallpaper intended for ceilings in white shades and light colors

Selection of necessary materials

Flooring arrangement is one of the key points in preparation for work. You will walk along it, straightening and trimming the roll cuts. If you plan to glue wallpaper on the ceiling alone, then it is better to build a longer structure. When working in pairs, it is convenient to make do with two short floorings.

Easiest to use as flooring dining table. You can also build a structure from two stepladders, between which wide boards or scaffolding.

To paste the ceiling wallpaper we will also need:

  • wallpaper and glue;
  • roulette;
  • level;
  • long thread;
  • a simple pencil;
  • scissors and stationery knife;
  • container for mixing glue;
  • wide brush;
  • rubber wallpaper spatula;
  • dry rags.

In addition to scissors and a pencil, you need to purchase a brush for leveling the pasted wallpaper

Preparing the surface for gluing

Surface preparation is a mandatory procedure that should be approached with all responsibility. After all, the quality of adhesion of materials will directly depend on this.

Cleaning the ceiling from old coatings

Remove from the ceiling old whitewash can be done using a spatula. It’s great if you can immediately clean the surface completely dry. If the chalk is difficult to scrape off, you can wet the area to be treated.

Important point: Just don't wet the entire ceiling, otherwise it will harden and make it even harder to clean.

You can make the process of removing old wallpaper easier by soaking it warm water. There are even on sale special liquids, allowing you to speed up the process of preparing the ceiling. Wet wallpaper can be easily removed if you pry it off wide spatula or a regular knife.

It will take a little more effort to remove old paint. To remove from the surface water-based paint, you need to wet it generously with water and leave it for half an hour with the window wide open. The paint that has “inhaled” and flaked during this time will not be difficult to remove with a wide spatula.

To get rid of small grains of chalk on an already cleaned surface, just walk over it with a wet brush

Removing dirt and rust stains

Wallpaper can only be glued to the ceiling, the surface of which is not “decorated” by traces of leaks and mold stains. If you ignore this rule, you should be prepared for the fact that the finish will not last even a few months.

Get rid of rust spots you can wipe them with a 10% solution copper sulfate. There are two ways to eliminate fungus: simply by knocking out the affected area of the surface or by treating it by special means, which can be purchased at any hardware store. When working with chemicals, use safety glasses and gloves.

Crack Treatment

When sealing larger cracks, it is better to use starting putty. To do this, large cracks are first expanded with a narrow spatula, and the resulting voids are filled with the composition.

After the putty has dried, all that remains is to level the surface by sanding it with fine-grained sandpaper.

Small cracks can be easily filled with finishing gypsum putty.

Base primer

It is not necessary to prime the walls before wallpapering. But by covering the surface with a primer, you can not only save time on washing the ceiling, but also significantly facilitate and speed up the process of gluing wallpaper. Acrylic primer dries within an hour. It “breathes” and does not create a greenhouse effect.

Wallpaper technology

The process of wallpapering a ceiling is not much different from wallpapering walls. However, it has certain difficulties. If when gluing walls it is easy to get by and on our own, then when finishing the ceiling without an assistant it will be quite difficult.

Ceiling markings

If you start gluing wallpaper on the walls from the corner, then on the ceiling - in the direction of the incident light, that is, from the window, gradually moving towards the door of the room. This approach allows you to make the joints as invisible as possible.

The panels are placed perpendicular to the window. If it is necessary to complete the finishing in a room without windows, the panels are glued along the length of the ceiling.

We stretch a string parallel to the walls and draw guide lines with a simple pencil.

Expert tip: to simplify the marking process, the lace can be pre-rubbed with colored chalk. The trace of the strip left by the lace on the ceiling will serve as a guide for the placement of the panels.

To mark the ceiling with parallel lines between the walls, on opposite sides we mark a distance equal to the width of the rolls

When calculating the length of the canvases corresponding to the length of the rooms, add 1.5-2 cm on each side to overlap the walls.

Preparation of glue

For different types wallpaper using appropriate types of glue. The heavier the wallpaper, the thicker the solution required for it, providing reliable fixation them on the ceiling.

Properly diluting the glue is an important point in the preparatory process. After all, the tenacity of materials and drying time depend on this. Dilute the adhesive with water strictly in the proportions specified in the instructions for it.

Gluing panels

Lay strips of pre-cut rolls face down on a clean, flat surface. The glue is applied with a wide brush, thoroughly covering the entire cut area, and left to soak for 5-7 minutes. When decorating the ceiling with non-woven wallpaper, there is no need to apply glue to the panels themselves.

It is convenient to fold the glued strip “accordion-style” with wide folds of 30 cm each. This will make the process of gluing the panel easier in the future.

Gradually unfold the accordion, controlling the direction relative to the intended line

With the prepared wallpaper, we climb onto the flooring, grabbing a rubber spatula, scissors and rags. We apply the edge of the strip to the ceiling.

Having aligned the strip, we press it more tightly to the ceiling. To get rid of remaining air bubbles and excess glue, smooth the canvas with a rubber spatula from the middle to the edges. When applying subsequent sheets, pay special attention to aligning the joints.

Video instruction clearly describing the process:

When the canvases are dry, all that remains is to cut off the excess pieces with a stationery knife using a spatula. After completing the work, you can safely attach the ceiling plinth and enjoy contemplating the result.

IN lately renovations are becoming increasingly complex and time-consuming as more and more new materials for wall and ceiling finishing appear with each passing decade. If previously only ordinary paper wallpaper was used, now other types of wallpaper have appeared, and special film coatings have been developed for finishing (linkrust, isoplen, etc.), which are also classified as wallpaper.

Wallpapering the ceiling

1. Before gluing the wallpaper, we will prepare the ceiling in the same way as the walls. The ceiling surface intended for wallpapering will be leveled, dried and cleaned of dust and dirt.

2. Sticking new wallpaper over old ones is allowed if they adhere firmly and do not have swelling. All loose wallpaper and pasting must be removed. This is good for walls, but for ceilings it is better to clean the surface down to the slab (plaster), it’s more reliable.

3. Newly plastered ceilings or cleared of old wallpaper or paint, when pasting them with simple wallpaper, will be cleaned with a flake (a block of wood wrapped in sandpaper) and the ceilings will be covered with paper.

4. The seams between the floor slabs, as well as the damaged areas, will first be puttied, cleaned and covered with sickle tape (or a simple bandage).

5. When wallpapering ceilings previously painted with adhesive, casein or lime paint, we will completely remove the paint and straighten the plaster.

6. In case the ceilings have been painted oil paint, we will remove oil paint if it does not adhere well to the surface. We will correct the cleaned areas. Surfaces painted with oil paint are not required to be glued with paper.

7. Simple wallpaper We will paste overlapping, embossed and other dense wallpapers - end to end on a surface covered with two layers of waste paper. When gluing overlapping wallpaper, the edges of the panels should be facing the light - towards the windows.

8. Upon completion of pasting all the walls and ceilings, we will paste a narrow strip - a border - at the cornice. We run the wallpaper behind the baseboards and trim, rather than cutting it along them. Wallpapering the edges of platbands and baseboards is not allowed (they fall behind quickly).

9. Pasting of surfaces with linkrust is done end-to-end without sticking paper and selecting the panels according to color.

10. It’s better to cover ceilings with three people. Wallpaper glue should be thicker than when gluing walls. Since insufficiently viscous glue is not able to hold wet wallpaper on the ceiling.

11. We will paste pre-cut and sorted wallpaper onto the ceiling in the direction of light from the windows:

First, apply glue to the wallpaper on the floor;

then a place on the ceiling where we will glue the wallpaper;

we will feed the cloth to two people working on top (it is better not to fold the cloth, this way there is less hassle with straightening it);

two people on top press the panel in different places to the ceiling, then from the beginning of the panel, one smoothes the panel, and the other holds those places of the wallpaper that are only stuck to the ceiling, we glue the wallpaper exactly in place and quickly, otherwise they may come off.

28. Wallpapering walls. Pasting walls with textured wallpaper for painting

First, the area of the pasting is calculated by multiplying the perimeter of the room (the sum of the lengths of all walls including doors and window openings) to its height. By multiplying the width of the roll by the length, you can determine its area. After this, you need to divide the area of the pasting by the area of one roll. The result will be the number of rolls that should be purchased.

If you choose wallpaper with a repeating pattern, buy another roll in reserve - for allowances for joining the pattern.

Surface preparation

The walls need to be cleaned, cracks filled, leveled and the surface primed. If there is old wallpaper on the wall, the master will remove it with a spatula. If necessary, it will steam (wet the walls hot water, will leave it soaking for a couple of hours). To get the wallpaper as wet as possible, you can scratch it. If the walls have been painted, you will need sandpaper.

Before pasting, be sure to make sure the wall is dry.

Remove baseboards, rosettes and other decorative items that may interfere with pasting.

Preparation of glue

For gluing, they usually use the type of glue recommended by the manufacturer of this type of wallpaper. To obtain the required proportion of glue, you need to follow the recommendations that are indicated in the instructions for this glue.

As a rule, the heavier the wallpaper, the thicker the glue should be.

When preparing the glue, there should be no lumps left.

Preparing wallpaper and pasting walls

The master cuts the rolls into pieces, the length of which is equal to the height of the wall. Rolls are also cut taking into account the necessary allowances for joining the pattern. Then the finished panels are laid out on the floor face down, on which polyethylene or newspapers are previously laid. The specialist applies the glue evenly with a brush from the middle to the edges. In order for the glue to be absorbed better, the wallpaper is folded as follows: from the bottom to the middle, with coated surfaces inward, or like an accordion. Then you need to leave the wallpaper alone for a few minutes and let the glue absorb. Begin pasting the walls from the window so that the ends of the panels do not cast shadows. The first strip is glued from the corner, and especially carefully smoothed with a rubber spatula or a clean rag from the center to the edges, since all other strips will “dance” from it. The craftsman immediately wipes off any protruding excess glue with a clean damp sponge and then with a dry cloth.

The air temperature in the room should be from +5 to +20 °C. Drafts during work, as well as within 24 hours after finishing the pasting, are unacceptable!

Wallpapering difficult areas

The pipes and part of the wall behind the radiators can be painted with oil paint, similar in color to the wallpaper. The wallpaper should be placed 10-20 cm behind the radiators; the main thing is that the unpasted part of the wall behind the radiator is not noticeable.

In addition, you can wallpaper water and gas pipes directly. In such cases, it is most convenient to use the leftovers after cutting. To do this, mark a strip equal to the diameter of the pipe on a suitable-sized piece of wallpaper. Then the master cuts strips of wallpaper so that they completely cover the pipe and extend onto the wall by 1-1.5 cm.

Door and window openings are covered in the direction of travel. To do this, you need to seal the opening with a single sheet and remove excess glue from under it. Then cut off the excess part of the wallpaper, taking into account the edge of the canvas going under the door casing.
