Capacity storage water heater can range from 10 to 500 liters. To select the required volume, you should take into account that if the tank volume is 10–15 liters, then this device is only enough to wash your face and wash your hands. A shower requires a water heating device with a capacity of at least 50 liters, but its dimensions will no longer be compact. For hot bath a tank with a volume of 80–150 liters is required. Therefore, it is better to coordinate the selection of displacement with specialists, taking into account individual needs.

There are water heaters that can operate from multiple energy sources. They are in great demand among cottage owners, country houses and dachas where there is a centralized and autonomous heating system.

According to their design, electric storage water heaters come in both horizontal and vertical versions for convenient placement in the apartment.

Almost all water heaters have a regulator that allows you to set the maximum water heating temperature. It is also possible to install minimum temperature, which prevents water in the system from freezing.

The price largely depends on the quality of thermal insulation. Sometimes heaters of the same volume differ significantly in external dimensions. In high-quality heaters, a lot of space is occupied by thermal insulation, due to which the water maintains its temperature for a long time. This not only saves energy, but also leads to less frequent switching on/off of the automation, which in turn increases its service life. The price is also affected by the quality of the material from which the tank is made. It must have good anti-corrosion properties. The inner surface of small-volume tanks is made of polypropylene or copper. But more often the tanks are made of steel, and the inner surface is covered with a protective layer of enamel that is resistant to high temperatures, to influence chemicals, non-toxic.

Without a cold water filter, the EWH will quickly fail

An electric water heater is used to heat water to the temperature required for a person and maintain it in this state. long time. The main and basic element of all devices is a heating element with a water container. If in gas boilers serves as a heating element gas burner, then in electric heaters there is a heating element made of metal. To determine the best EWH, it is necessary to determine what requirements it must meet and how they differ from each other.

What is an instantaneous electric water heater?

Electric waters have the following properties:

  • Requires little space for installation.
  • A small volume of water quickly heats up to operating temperature.
  • The heating speed depends on the power of the heating elements (up to 30 kW).
  • The heating element is sensitive to air pockets.
  • They work to heat water only during washing.

Instantaneous water heaters have the following structural elements providing fast heating of water:

  • Durable outer metal frame.
  • Heating element for heating.
  • Air lock sensor.
  • Temperature switch.
  • Cold water input.
  • Hot water release.

Models may vary additional accessories, but the basic composition of the elements remains the same for everyone.

For any apartment you can choose an electric water heater

According to the principle of operation, flow-through EWHs are divided into pressure and non-pressure.

Pressure water heaters involve inserting directly into the pipe. This causes such devices to experience pressure water supply network, this happens regardless of whether the heater is used or not. In this type of heater, the material and strength of the container where the water is heated is very important.

Additionally, the pressure devices are equipped with a safety system, which includes a fuse, a pressure reducer and check valve. With the help of these devices, uninterrupted operation of the water heater is ensured.

Non-pressure water heaters They are not built into the water supply system, but are cut off from it using shut-off valves. A standard tap must be installed in front of flow devices. If this is a storage heater, then a special mixer is required for its installation. In such devices, as a rule, no high pressure. Therefore, they can be used for operation plastic tanks. Their advantage is not only that they are cheap, but also that they are not subject to corrosion and hold heat relatively well. Among the disadvantages, one can note their small volume, which is limited to 30 liters.

Main characteristics of electric instantaneous water heaters

EWH connection diagram

When choosing heaters, it is necessary to compare according to several characteristics. Initially selected by overall dimensions installation locations. Select several samples of water heaters (pressure or non-pressure). In this case, each sample must be optimally connected to the electrical and water supply networks. It must have free access for maintenance (control). Then a heater is determined that will provide the required performance when operating under specific conditions. The necessary need depends on the size of the family, on the expected water procedures(hand washing 3 l/min; dishwashing 5 l/min; bath 8 l/min).

It must be taken into account that heating 1 liter consumes approximately the same amount of electricity in modern European heater models. Consequently, this characteristic will be approximately the same for all selected samples. Price may vary only when used different materials during the manufacture of the tank and heating element, provided that all heaters have safety devices. Having selected several samples with the same characteristics, it is necessary to resolve the design issue.

The appearance of the selected electric instantaneous water heaters must fit into the interior of the room. For the durability of the heater, the material of the tank, the design of the heaters (dry or wet) and the control system of the heating elements (mechanical or electronic) are important.

Electric instantaneous non-pressure water heaters

Optimal location for EWH installation

The compact shape of the heater makes it possible to install the unit in cramped conditions modern apartment. Such heaters are storage (capacitive). The choice of sizes and shapes is carried out according to specific premises apartments. The composition includes a tank with a capacity of 65-100 liters. The heating elements heat the water to a temperature of 70 degrees, previously set on the rheostat. Using hot water mixed with cold, we obtain a mixture with a temperature of 30 degrees. Cold water through internal domestic water supply pipes (well with deep well pump or city water supply) ends up in a tank with heating elements.

Having filled the tank to the top with water, the shut-off valve is activated. When the water in the tank warms up to set temperature, the rheostat is triggered, cutting off the power supply to the heating elements. By opening a hot water tap, the level in the tank decreases and the valve automatically opens cold water, the heating elements turn on. By turning on (off) the hot water tap, you can regulate the temperature in the water heater. To drain water from the tank during cleaning, it is necessary to provide a valve with a hose on the through tee in the cold water supply system. Knowing the quality of water (rarely meets GOST standards), it is necessary to provide for the installation of a filter.

Instantaneous pressure water heater

Pressure EWH in the bathroom

The principle diagram of the operation of a pressure flow-through EWH is the need to obtain hot water of a certain temperature without a time limit (shower stall). If you choose a heater with a capacity of 8 l/min and set the temperature controller to 40 degrees, then the whole family will wash in the cabin without additional operations with water or electricity. Automation will perform all operations.

What you need to pay attention to when choosing a water heater:

  • Name + price.
  • Country of manufacture + warranty period.
  • Availability of a water filter.
  • Heating element material and capacity in l/min.
  • How temperature and heating power are regulated, power consumption.
  • Option for installing and connecting pipes (horizontally or vertically).
  • Overall dimensions and own weight. Inlet pressure. Required voltage (220 V) and diameter of pipes.

Pressure or non-pressure water heater: advantages and disadvantages

EWH next to the shower stall

From the point of view that it is easier to operate a pressure or non-pressure water heater, best option– pressure. To start, you just need to open the hot water tap, set the temperature regulator to 40 (for a shower) degrees and start using it. There is no need to turn on the electricity - it is already connected. The water tank is always full and corresponds to the operating pressure in the network. All operations with adjustments work in automatic mode. If it is necessary to simultaneously use two or more points (shower and dishwashing) while maintaining a constant temperature, a pressure flow heater will the best option for a large family.

The selection of an electric flow-through heater is based on the total volume of hot water consumption per minute. If the necessary conditions for pressure operation are not available, it is necessary to use a non-pressure flow-through heater. By choosing a non-pressure water heater, we get a device that is easy to operate, but requires several additional operations. Turn on the cold water tap and fill the tank with 100 liters. Then we turn on the electrical network and set the hot water temperature to 70 degrees. We turn on the heating elements. We're waiting for a while. The thermostat should turn off the water heating. Open the tap with hot (diluted with cold) water. After washing, perform all operations in reverse order.

When comparing the qualities of a pressure flow heater with a non-pressure flow heater, it is difficult to choose the best one. The difference between them is small.

If the electrical network is not designed for more power consumers, it is preferable to choose a non-pressure flow-through heater.

Non-pressure EWH in the bathroom

If the water supply system has weak, unstable operating pressure with frequent shutdowns and dirty water, then the use of a pressure heater is not recommended.

The heater must have dry heating elements. When supplying water from local sources to an insulated storage tank in the attic, only a non-pressure instantaneous water heater with dry heating elements is recommended.

Having all the necessary conditions and significant restrictions in cash you can choose a pressure flow heater (6 kW, 3 l/min) for 3.5 thousand rubles.

Budget version of pressure EWH

This power allows you to abandon centralized hot water and use only cold water supply. The heater must be grounded or grounded. It is obligatory to install a disconnecting protective device for the electrical network. It is better if the water heater is installed by a professional electrician in compliance with all the rules.

Agree, it’s great when the tap always flows hot water regardless of its supply by the city utility company. The problem of interruptions will be solved by installing an instantaneous water heater. But the variety of offers on the market is amazing, and you want to buy best model and don't know which one to choose?

We will tell you how to choose an instantaneous water heater that has the necessary technical characteristics. We'll tell you how to choose it taking into account operating conditions. Let us indicate what capabilities the equipment should be equipped with to meet the individual needs of users.

The article discusses the main selection criteria optimal model, the rating of the most popular water heaters is given. Attached are photographic materials and useful video recommendations that will help you decide on the best flow machine.

The design of an instantaneous water heater is not complicated: a small water tank is enclosed in a metal or plastic case, equipped with heating elements or a spiral.

Budget appliances most often have 1-2 heating elements, which have a weak point: the heating elements quickly become overgrown with scale. The good news is that they are easy to replace.

Less scale is formed in devices with a spiral enclosed inside a copper tube. The disadvantage of such a device is a negative reaction to bubbles and air pockets. If the equipment fails, replacement will be expensive.

Image gallery

The heating principle is simple: cold water enters the tank, comes into contact with hot elements, heats up and comes out with the required temperature parameters (on average from + 40 °C to + 60 °C).

To install compact equipment, you need a mounting kit, water supply and electrical cable.

Schematic representation of a household flow-through electrical device with an electronic control unit, in which water is heated using a copper heating element

Powerful equipment designed for several water points requires good flow and high pressure. Non-pressure devices operating at low pressure can sufficiently serve only one tap.

For this reason, they are initially equipped with “custom” devices - a gooseneck or a flexible hose with a diffuser.

The heating process occurs instantly, so there is no need to wait for the accumulation a certain amount hot water. Electricity is only consumed when the device is operating.

Unlike its storage counterpart, a instantaneous water heater takes up minimal space. Usually it is fixed on the wall near the water point (sink or shower) in a vertical position

If we compare flow models with storage models, we can highlight the following advantages:

  • space saving, compact size (important for rooms with limited free space);
  • the possibility of installation both near the tap (minimizing heat loss) and in a separate room (applies to powerful appliances);
  • the amount of water consumed is not limited;
  • interval power consumption (only during the active period);
  • beautiful laconic design;
  • low cost.

The disadvantages include regular costs for paying for electricity: the more often the water heater is turned on (respectively, the larger the family), the higher the electricity bill.

Installation diagram of one device on two mixers. When choosing, you should focus on the power rating of the device. If it is not enough, the device can serve only one tap at a time (maximum – tap and shower)

Another disadvantage concerns the installation conditions. For water heaters with a power of 7-8 kW and above, a reliable three-phase electrical network, high-quality copper wiring and appropriate protection are required.

The presence of built-in furniture in the room makes it possible to hide the wall duct in one of the wall cabinets. A prerequisite is easy access to the housing, control unit and significant components for maintenance

Why is an electric model better than a gas model?

In city apartments there is no need to choose between two types of devices, since they usually use electric, safer models.

The exception is apartments in which geysers were installed during the process of equipping the premises upon delivery of the house. This applies to “Khrushchev”, “Stalin” and some types panel houses, built in the 60-70s of the last century.

Diagram of the gas water heater. Prerequisite for its operation - water pressure is at least 0.25-0.33 atm (approximately 1.5-2 l/min), otherwise the heating elements will not turn on

IN country houses Water is heated more often using a powerful floor-standing boiler, but some people prefer to use a gas water heater out of habit.

Its use is appropriate when stove heating or in warm climates that do not require the installation of heating equipment.

They are considered safer, although their operation is more expensive than use geysers. In addition, when heating with gas, exhaust hood and reliable ventilation are required, otherwise there will be a risk of poisoning carbon monoxide. Savings are considered a plus, since gas prices are lower than electricity.

In old houses, it is not possible to use a powerful electric appliance (above 3.5 kW), so you will have to make do with either a weak water heater or. Thus, if there is a choice, consider the state of electrical networks and ventilation, water pressure, and the cost of fuel (gas or electricity).

Features of wall mounting

Instantaneous water heaters are installed in a place convenient for control, most often on the wall near the sink or shower. For attachment to concrete panels or for brick walls use dowels, for drywall (not recommended) - special “mole” type devices. The product should be positioned according to the instructions; it should not be rotated.

If you plan to install the water heating device near the water point, that is, in the bathroom or in a combined toilet, make sure that the degree of protection is not lower than IPX4

Connection to the electrical network must be made through, especially if the manufacturer does not provide a protective automatic shutdown function.

A three-core copper cable is pulled from a common grounding panel, then either a differential switch or a circuit breaker is installed.

Installation diagram for instantaneous water heater: 1 – pipe with cold water; 2 – tap (mixer); 3 – shut-off valves; 4 – check valve + filter set; 5 – RCD; 6 – electrical panel

It is better to equip the supply pipes for a pressure water heater with ball valves - for ease of installation/dismantling. Remember that a free-flow device has only one pipe - for connecting cold water.

If you have any questions, please contact your sales consultants and carefully study the instructions.

If there is no other way to heat water other than electricity, you will have to choose a suitable electric water heater. In this article we will give comparative review popular models, we’ll tell you about the differences different types, we will give recommendations for installation and maintenance.

There are two main types of electric water heaters. Some have a cylindrical container with water, the water in which is heated by a regular heating element. They serve for a long time and are relatively easy to repair, but are quite cumbersome.

More compact are instantaneous heaters in which water is heated in a narrow heat exchanger using heating elements or a non-insulated coil. Such devices are difficult (and sometimes impossible) to repair at home. Their use is often temporary, especially for residents who are familiar first-hand with the problems of a temporary lack of hot water supply. Instantaneous water heaters are a little cheaper and more economical than storage water heaters, but due to their high power they require a serious approach to organizing the power supply network.

Features of the design of instantaneous water heaters

Management in instantaneous water heaters can be performed by a mechanical regulator or an electronic unit. In the first case, the power levels of the heating elements are switched, which is acceptable if the water heater is located near the water collection point. But this is completely inconvenient if the device supplies water to several points in the house; in such cases, electronic control is used. The unit regulates the temperature literally on the fly; some models have preset functions temperature conditions or, for example, control from a remote control.

Inexpensive heaters have one or more heating elements that are placed inside a small metal or plastic flask. The scourge of this design is the abundant formation of scale on the heating element. However, it can be replaced quite easily.

In flow tubes with an open spiral, the latter is placed inside a sealed copper tube. Heating of water in them is a little faster, scale does not form on the spiral. But such a heating element is very sensitive to air pockets and bubbles. In the event of a breakdown, this unit is replaced entirely, and it is by no means cheap.

Powerful heaters require high pressure and flow to keep the heating element from overheating. But there are also open (non-pressure) type flowers that can operate at low pressure. They are capable of providing water to only one water point, so they are immediately equipped with a shower diffuser with a flexible hose or gander.

Closed water heaters have a pressure relief valve and can be used to supply multiple water points. They cost more, so only for shower or kitchen sink buy non-pressure models.

Comparison of instantaneous water heater models

Pressure or non-pressure water heater - differences and advantages, disadvantages. Which water heaters are better: instantaneous or storage?

There are several types of devices that heat water for domestic needs: electric, gas, solid fuel, indirect heating of hot water from the coolant of the heating system (they are often called “water-to-water”). Water heaters are also divided into instantaneous and storage.

The most common are gas and electric water heaters.

Gas water heaters

Modern devices of this type are not at all similar to traditional geysers, which can sometimes still be found in homes old building. New generation gas heaters are distinguished by high performance, compactness and stylish design. They are equipped automatic system ignition and allow you to smoothly regulate the heating. A constant temperature is ensured even with pressure changes, and when the water supply stops, the heater automatically turns off. Gas water heaters are much more profitable than electric ones and their higher price pays off during operation, since the cost of gas is several times less than the cost of electricity.

Gas water heaters vary in power. If there is no need to use a shower and, for example, wash dishes in the kitchen at the same time, then a water heater with a capacity of 18-19 kW is quite suitable, but if you would like to use both a shower and a sink in the kitchen at the same time, then the required water heater power will be 24 kW.

If we consider electric water heaters, they come in two types: instantaneous and storage.

Electric instantaneous water heater

Water is heated as it moves past heat transfer elements (electric heating elements, copper pipes, plate heat exchangers) of high power (power from 6 to 27 kW). On the other hand, an instantaneous water heater can produce an unlimited amount of hot water and does not require regular maintenance and replacement of elements. They are less susceptible to lime deposits than storage devices. They have more power compared to storage heaters, although the total electricity consumption, for example, per month, is less. True, and maximum temperature Their water heating is lower than that of storage ones. They dispense warm water, not hot water, and cannot provide warm water to several points at the same time.

Depending on what you want to use your electric instantaneous water heater for, you will need different amounts of warm water. So, to wash dishes you will need about 4-6 kW - that's 2-3 l/min; for a shower you need at least 8 kW - that's 4 l/min. If you want to take a bath, then you will need a water heater with a power of at least 13 kW; power supply for it will already require a three-phase power supply with a voltage of 380 V. Due to the higher power consumption, you will need to supply a separate electric cable from the electrical panel to the water heater. If you want to install a powerful instantaneous water heater, then it is necessary that the stove is electric and not gas. In an apartment with a gas stove, only an instantaneous water heater is suitable low power. The simplest option is a small instantaneous water heater with a power of 3-8 kW, which operates from a conventional 220 V network. Only in this case, the power of the electrical wiring that is supplied to the apartment and located in the entrance is sufficient to install such a water heater. There are two types of such devices - pressure and non-pressure. Pressure ones are built into the riser; with their help you can take a bath, brush your teeth, and wash all the dirty dishes. If suddenly the water stops flowing, the automatic fuse trips and the heater turns off. Non-pressure instantaneous water heaters can only serve a shower, which is why they come with a fine-jet shower head.

A high-quality instantaneous water heater will provide you with stable hot water supply and safe operation combined with reliability and long service life.

Electric storage water heater (boiler)

Heats water to 55-75 degrees, after which it maintains its temperature automatically. The water in storage water heaters cools very slowly, like in a thermos. For high-quality devices, the temperature drop does not exceed 0.25-0.5 degrees per hour. Since heating occurs gradually, such a device does not require a large electrical power and most often can be connected to a standard electrical outlet. Even 150-liter boilers generally consume no more than 1.5-2 kW. It is the low power consumption, which makes it possible to install a storage water heater in almost any room, that ensures the high demand for these devices. Water can be consumed by several water points at the same time, that is, you can turn on the shower and wash dishes in the kitchen at the same time. The disadvantages of boilers include the dimensions of the water heater. However, more advanced models are now being produced that do not take up much space. If desired, you can place such a device even under the sink. Disadvantages also include the need for periodic maintenance: replacing the magnesium anode, cleaning heating elements from scale. It should also be taken into account that the volume of hot water is limited by the capacity of the water heater tank, and it will take time to heat the next “portion”.

Fundamental differences between storage water heaters

Unlike instantaneous water heaters, storage water heaters have a simpler design. They have tanks from stainless steel, sometimes coated with ceramic or silver coating. In compact boilers there are several tanks and they are installed in a row to reduce the depth dimensions. Tall but narrow tanks are specially designed for installation in the corner of the bathroom or in the bathroom cabinet.

The tank has thermal insulation made of polyurethane foam or more innovative materials. If it is of high quality, the water temperature is maintained for up to two days.

The tanks use ordinary heating elements with an insulated spiral. The heating element can be placed in a flask filled with quartz sand. Such heating elements are called dry, they last longer than usual.

Cold water is introduced at the bottom of the tank; a bowl-shaped diffuser prevents mixing. Hot water is drawn from the top. The location of the tank can be either vertical or horizontal. Also on the market are pressure storage water heaters with top water supply.

Almost all heaters have a magnesium or titanium anode, the purpose of which is to prevent the formation of scale on the heating element and, by taking on the effects of salts contained in the water, to protect the tank from corrosion. The service life of the anode is from six months to three years.

The heating temperature is controlled by a mechanical thermostat or electronics, the latter having higher accuracy and additional functions.

Like instantaneous water heaters, tanks can be open or closed. The first ones are less common; only one water point can be connected to them. The main advantage of this design is the ability to drain water even in the absence of pressure in the supply line.

Installation of instantaneous water heaters

Flow heaters are attached to a stone wall with dowels quick installation, and on a gypsum board wall - with a “mole” type mounting element. Strictly follow the recommended installation direction; most heaters must not be rotated. Only heaters with a shell protection degree of at least IPX4 can be installed directly in a bathtub or shower stall.

The electrical connection must be made through an RCD, if protective shutdown is not provided by the manufacturer. Connect the device with a three-wire copper cable directly from the introductory apartment panel, and if it’s not brought into the apartment protective conductor- from floor board with mandatory grounding to a metal frame. Connection via a plug connector is not allowed; for switching, a circuit breaker with tripping characteristic “B” or a differential switch is used.

Gravity heaters have only one connection available for connection - the cold water supply. On pressure heaters, the pipes are marked with blue (cold water) and red (hot water) colors, or inscriptions. For ease of dismantling, it is recommended to equip the supply pipes with ball valves.

Installation of storage water heaters

Storage water heaters wall mounting need reliable fastening. In durable concrete and brick walls their role is played by metal expansion anchors. Walls made of cinder block or shell rock do not have sufficient density, so when attaching to them you need to use through studs or staples. Fastening tanks to gypsum plasterboard walls is allowed only through through fastening and only with a reinforced profile frame.

The electrical connection of the boiler is made through a difavtomat or RCD; the basic requirements are the same as for a flow-through heater: a solid cable and grounding. As with instantaneous water heaters, the connection is made on the terminal block to contacts L - phase, N - neutral conductor, PE - protective conductor.

The boiler requires the installation of a valve overpressure. To drain water from closed boilers without pressure, both pipes are equipped with three-way taps or additional outlets with shut-off valves.

The difference between a water heater and a water heater or what is the difference between a boiler and a water heater?

The man of our time has become accustomed to convenience. The expression of comfort in the yard has already become a joke, and people strive to surround themselves with comfort, to arrange the space around them in such a way that they feel very comfortable in an apartment or house.
One of the main requirements for convenience is the constant presence warm water. In addition to the centralized supply, burdened a large number cons, hot water can be obtained from a water heater or water heater.

The water heater should be placed in a wide area that is very easily accessible.

What is a water heater?

It is a container filled with water heated by a heat source.

In other words, this is a storage type water heater; in other words, accumulated water is heated, not running water.

Different options for water heaters that exist today

Important types according to water heating option:

Installation diagram of instantaneous water heater.

  • electro;
  • gas: with an open combustion chamber (using natural draft); with a closed combustion chamber (using forced draft);
  • indirect heating (those that use boiler power);
  • combined - using gas and electricity.

According to the water supply option:

  • pressure;
  • non-pressure (used when there is no water line).

According to the installation method:

  • floor;
  • mounted (divided into horizontal and vertical).

According to the shape of the tank:

  • round (cylindrical);
  • rounded (in the shape of a rounded rectangle);
  • other forms.

Diagram of an indirect heating water heater.

An electric water heater consists of an iron tank, a heating element (thermal electric heater), a thermostat and a magnesium anode. The magnesium anode works to save the rust in the middle of the tank. The outside surface of the tank is covered with a layer of heat-insulating material. Depending on the model, additional parts may be found.

Operating principle: A heating element located in the middle of the tank heats the water. Cold water is supplied from below, hot water is discharged from above. The pressure in the water supply system pushes out the heated water, and it flows to the points of use. The thermostat controls the water temperature (the user sets this indicator himself, changing if necessary), heating the water to the set value and maintaining the temperature by turning the heating element on and off.

The advantages of an electric water heater are: more low price, ease of installation, no requirement for a chimney, the ability to install anywhere it is convenient, even under the ceiling (mounted horizontal water heaters are designed specifically for this).

An electric water heater is connected to the home electrical network, and therefore it is convenient to use it in the house, indoors, outdoors. summer cottage, in small companies for home purposes.

Gas water heater. The principle of operation is the same as that of an electric one, only the water is heated from a gas burner.

Electrical diagram for connecting a water heater.

To install it, it is necessary to make an auxiliary exit into the chimney, and this complicates installation and affects the location of the device. A water heater with a closed combustion chamber (using forced draft) can be installed against a wall outside with combustion products discharged through a special hole in it.

Pros: when setting the cost and purchasing more gas water heater will cost less during operation, because the cost of gas is much less than electrical energy. Another advantage is that the power is not low compared to electric. This makes it possible to quickly heat the water to the required temperature, and therefore purchase a water heater with a slightly smaller capacity for the same needs. Bad qualities: the location is unrealistically free, additional documentation is required for installation, and the main thing is that gas is not available everywhere.

Indirect heating water heater. It is an addition to a single-circuit boiler. The cylinder-shaped container can be placed vertically or horizontally, depending on the model. In the middle of the tank, a radiator pipe is installed, which has a complex shape (often serpentine). A heat carrier moves through this pipe, which heats the water.

There are models without radiator tubes. This water heater consists of two vessels inserted one into the other. The inner vessel contains heated water, and the heat carrier moves in the outer vessel.

Operating principle: cold water enters the water heater tank through the inlet; the coolant fluid, heated by the heating boiler, moves in the radiator coil or between the double walls of the housing. It heats the incoming water in the boiler and maintains it at an eternal temperature. Any indirectly heated water heater has input and output pipes that connect it to the heating boiler, and hot water is supplied to the buyer through the output pipe.

  • greater productivity;
  • The coolant fluid is intentionally ready, thereby reducing its negative influence to the radiator;
  • you can use different sources of heat energy, and also switch from one to another if necessary (there are models of water heaters with a built-in heating element).

Bad qualities:

  • high cost of equipment and installation (you need to invite professionals);
  • when heating a large volume of water, less heat is supplied for heating;
  • installation must be carried out in a specialized room (boiler room).

Instantaneous water heaters - columns

The design and principle of operation of these devices differs slightly from storage devices. In flow-type heaters, water is heated not in a container, but by flowing through a heating element. The heating element is usually a gas burner, a heating element or a non-insulated coil. It is clear that the water heats up very quickly, and its volume is not limited by the capacity of the tank. As soon as the tap opens at the water intake point, the water heater automatically turns on and water heating begins.

Such water heaters can be open (non-pressure) or closed type(pressure). Non-pressure ones, as a rule, will work only with an outlet to one mixer, and pressure ones - for several water flow points.

Gravity water heaters must be equipped with specialized mixers, but their installation is very simple, and the same normal dismantling is possible. Good quality- low price. And therefore it is better to use them as a seasonal water heating device or in adapted premises, for example, in a summer cottage.

The difference between a storage water heater and a flow-through one

During operation, the instantaneous water heater has a number of positive qualities, and specifically:

  1. Relatively weight and small size.
  2. There is no contraindication for the volume of heated water.
  3. Energy savings (consumption only for heating, and not for temperature support).

But there are also a number of inconveniences:

  1. When you open a hot water tap, you need to drain the cold water that was in the column before heating began. Temperature adjustment is not carried out immediately, and hot water may splash out of the tap. And so on any time the tap is opened. In other words, while saving energy, water is wasted.
  2. The temperature of the water changes with changes in use, and also with changes in pressure in the water supply. In fact, this is dangerous in situations where, while taking an ordinary shower, you find yourself under the opposite. But in case the bathtub fills, it will not be noticeable.
  3. Power. For electric speakers need a new, reliable electrical wiring with specialized fuses, and stronger models require a three-phase electrical network.

In fact, choosing a storage water heater provides high comfort. And fans of simplicity love speakers. From the variety of types and models of water heating devices provided by the trade sector, you can only choose the most optimal one for your home and family, for the conditions and your needs.
