Drawing of fastening a wheel on a walk-behind tractor trailer. How to make a do-it-yourself trailer for a walk-behind tractor: drawings and assembly recommendations. Trailer manufacturing

Owners personal plots and gardeners often use a walk-behind tractor. You can see it in almost every subsidiary farm. Technology is indispensable and necessary to get the job done. different kind. In addition to soil cultivation, with the help of a mechanized device, it is possible to transport goods (hay, fertilizers, planting materials, firewood and garbage). In the case of purchasing a walk-behind tractor or a snowmobile without a trailer, you should not be upset, because you can make a towing device for a walk-behind tractor with your own hands.

The complete set of the walk-behind tractor can be the most diverse:

  • Hiller.
  • Grouser.
  • Plow.
  • Potato planter.
  • seeder.
  • Rake.
  • Mower.

It is characterized by the carrying capacity of equipment, weight, power and other indicators. Motoblock can be medium, light and heavy (professional). A cultivator is considered an analogue of this technique, but it is made to perform one job - cultivating the land. Sometimes it can be with an additional option.

The constructability of the carts is not complicated. With the usual tools, almost any owner will be able to independently build a cart for a cultivator or a Neva walk-behind tractor. An important part of manufacturing is the correct drawing up of a drawing or sketch. The main work should be started, strictly adhering to the intended dimensions. To simplify the process, you can take as a sample factory model carts. Trailers can be large and small capacity (500 or 100 kg). At the same time, the body is different in size.

For different types motoblocks are selected trolleys with different specifications:

  • For heavy (more than 10 hp), a single-axle or two-axle cart with a body length of up to 1.5 m in width and 3 m in length can be used.
  • For medium (power up to 10 hp), single-axle bogies with a body length of up to 1.5 m and a width of up to 1.4 m are most often used. The carrying capacity of such bogies is approximately 300-500 kg.
  • For light trailers (up to 4.8 hp), single-axle trailers with a body length of about 1.15 m and a width of 1 m are used. The bogies are designed for loads up to 300 kg.

Boards in carts can be up to 40 cm high, and with side rails in powerful trailers - up to 60 cm. To facilitate the process of unloading or loading, the design provides for an opening or removable tailgate. Models with removable side walls can also be produced.

For standard models trailers are characterized by setting the center of gravity to the rear, which makes it easier to tip the cart and unload some cargo. The hydraulic lift cylinder is normally only available on heavy duty models. Such models must be equipped with brakes, since the inertial force of movement will act on steep slopes and it will not be possible to stop the walk-behind tractor.

Pros and cons of a homemade trailer

There are many finished structures offered by tractor manufacturers and third-party manufacturers. Thanks to the cart, the walk-behind tractor will be a full-fledged transport, but in order to make a choice between purchased and homemade model, you need to reconsider their merits:

  • An indispensable tool for gardening.
  • For manufacturing, you can use simple material and technology.
  • During production, money is saved significantly.

When buying, it is not always possible to find a unit suitable for all characteristics, and its quality and technical specifications can be much lower than the price.

Proper design

To prevent multiple reworking of parts during the assembly process, as well as to save material that can be damaged, it is necessary to create a drawing in detail and carefully. It is best to create several drawings of each part from all sides. This is especially true for complex parts.

When making a drawing and preparing sketches, you can miss important nuances. For this reason, the drawing need to be reviewed and studied taking into account the following points:

  • Determine which main or auxiliary unit the trailer needs, as well as find out how to connect. It can be carried out in different ways (welding, bolting or riveting).
  • Movement and connection of stationary rotary parts (on hinges, bushings, bearings or axially).
  • Are parking mechanisms required?
  • The presence of a body tipper.

At the same time, there are many other elements that need to be considered and created depending on your own needs and desires. For example, not everyone will agree to make a swivel joint with their own hands, but many will be able to buy cheaply at scrap metal. In the drawings, if necessary, make clarifications and detailed drawing. Creating a drawing is not an easy process, but after that it is possible to fully and correctly list the necessary spare parts and tools.

Before purchasing materials and creating drawings, you need to examine the available parts, since any hardware can be useful for creating a structure or additional elements.

Light truck development

A rolling cart with a load capacity of up to 350 kg is suitable for any type of walk-behind tractor, and a cart with a higher load capacity will require the development of additional brakes, since it will not be safe to use it (it can be used as a tow truck). To make a light trailer with your own hands, size drawings are easy to find on the Internet. They need to be modified to suit your needs, depending on the availability of blanks and requirements.

The carrying capacity will depend on the choice of dimensions and dimensions of the body itself. To do this, you can use the dimensions of the manufacturers, and the development of the drawing It is recommended to carry out in stages:

  • General view with the dimensions of all components, such as the body, frame, wheels and carrier.
  • Detailed view of a frame made of square or round pipe and connected by welding.
  • Body and its structure. The body can be made of boards or metal.
  • It is desirable to reinforce the carrier with several stiffeners, since the main load will be carried out on it through the swivel assembly and drawbar.
  • Swivel - complex element requiring special attention.

Depending on the choice of material for the manufacture and strengthening of some sections of the structure, the use of a walk-behind tractor cart can be with different loads.

Manufacturing details and materials

To make a trailer you will need:

After preparing the necessary parts and tools, you can begin to work, but it is very important to clean the metal from rust with a grinder and converter before work.

Trailer frame

The best option for creating a frame would be cropped round and square pipes as well as corners. The design is suitable for use on rough roads. The frame can be made using bearings and some pipes. Wheels also need to be installed. A steel bar with a diameter of 30 mm and a length of 1080 mm is suitable for creating an axle on which the wheels will be mounted. Such a rod is welded to the hinge and frame posts.

Motoblock trolley carrier

The design is created from parts that are reliably welded. The main load is created on the rotary and coupling mechanisms, so the structure must be strengthened with metal parts by welding. For the manufacture of the carrier, it is necessary to weld the supporting corners, scarves with longitudinal hinges and body bars.

The body of a homemade device

The body for a homemade car can be made from suitable metal or boards with a section of 20 mm. In the manufacture of boards, it is necessary to strengthen the structure metal corners. The body must be connected to the frame at several points using retaining parts. The center of gravity in a single-axle cart must not cross the wheel axle.

When creating a tipper body structure, it is necessary to install axles for a folding device in the middle of the frame. At the same time, it is important to install them coaxially and accurately orient them, since if installed incorrectly, lifting the body can be hampered by jamming. The axle bushings are welded through a reinforcing plate about 5 mm thick. The coupling device, which is the basis of the frame, is also equipped with such amplifiers. Ordinary hinges, often used in the construction of hinged gates and gates, can be used as bushings and axles, but with a diameter that will withstand the weight of the load. After welding is completed, the free play must be checked. This design is not collapsible, therefore, to prevent recycling, the axle must be installed the first time.

Connecting a walk-behind tractor with a trolley

To connect the trailer to the tractor, you need to make a console. Top part the support may be similar to the contour of the cultivator handles, since it must be attached to the mounted console. At the attachment point between the bearings, apply grease and cover with a dust boot. With a heavy load on the trailer during operation, the manufacture of a movable hitch is recommended. The connecting fixture of the device is installed in the cylindrical body of the longitudinal hinge and the entire structure is locked with a ring.

For the manufacture of hitch will need:

With this design, the control of the walk-behind tractor on uneven road surfaces is facilitated.

Trailer wheel selection

Many craftsmen who make trailers leave reviews on sites that recommend installing sidecar tires in conjunction with a central part kit. However, in this case, it is necessary to machine the axle shaft to match the dimensions with the diameters of the hub bearings.

A circle with a diameter of 3 cm is perfect for turning and creating a central wheel base. The central shaft, longitudinal hinges and corner supports are connected by welding. In case of choosing other wheel pair options you can perform the following operations:

  1. Attach the corner to the transverse part of the frame or weld a piece of pipe.
  2. Drill a hole in the lower part of the corner or pipe to fix the fitting and the wheel axle.

Working with the bottom of the trailer

For the manufacture of a strong bottom, it is best to use metal sheets with a thickness of 2 to 3 mm. You can also use an edged board, but the bottom will be less durable.

At the final stage, it is necessary to secure the driver's seat and check the installation of the wheels. For greater convenience, it is necessary to weld the footboard so that the legs do not remain in the air. For improvement appearance the trailer can be cleaned and painted.

Assembly of the structure must be carried out on a flat surface. When choosing a profile of approximately 40-50 mm, it is not necessary to reinforce the structure with scarves. With normal and uniform welds, the structure will turn out to be quite rigid, therefore, in the absence of welding skills, it is better to involve an experienced person. After painting the device with a special paint, all parts will be protected from corrosion, and the trolley will last longer. When creating a folding structure, it is necessary to weld the lock and use a steel pin with a cotter pin.

Of course, you can buy a ready-made trolley for a walk-behind tractor in the appropriate store. But this is far from ideal:

  • it is not always possible to find a unit that suits you in all respects;
  • the quality of many products leaves much to be desired;
  • may be put off by the high price.

Therefore, before buying a trailer, it is worth considering what you need it for. You can consult with friends or specialists, and perhaps one of them will tell you what you can design homemade trailer for a walk-behind tractor.

How to make a trailer for a walk-behind tractor

First you need to sketch rough plan actions, such as:

  1. Drawing up a project.
  2. Planning the work of the main and additional mechanisms.
  3. Preparing a list of materials needed for assembly.
  4. Approximate calculation of the cost of the entire structure.
  5. Step by step assembly.
  6. Finishing.

Let's take a closer look at the action plan.

Drafting a project

Be sure to make a plan, drawing or sketch of the future trailer. If you find it difficult to do it yourself, it makes sense to contact a specialist mechanic who, with the help of your explanations, will help to draw up a project.

In the drawings, they try to more accurately display the future structure from different angles, draw nodes, put down all the necessary dimensions. In the necessary places, you can make callouts like "A - A", "B - B" and draw large these nodes.

The work of mechanisms

It is better to think over everything in advance to the smallest detail:

  • method of connecting non-separable assemblies and parts: welding, riveting or screwing;
  • connection of moving units: hinge, bushing, bearing, axle;
  • nodes and their functioning;
  • seat: simple or rotating;
  • if the body is tipping, then a self-resetting assembly with a special handle or a mechanical body tipper is needed;
  • stop-legs for parking (as on a scooter or moped);
  • connection unit to the main walk-behind tractor: articulated, on bushings or on bearings;
  • various additional nodes that depend on your vision of the trailer.

Preparing a list of materials

After you have decided on the mechanisms and their work, make a list of materials. You can make a list of basic (obvious) materials based on what you have available, and find the rest as you build. And do not try to do it “like a neighbor”, if this entails unjustified costs.

If someone has a trailer made of profile pipes (square or rectangular section), and you only have “round” ones, then it’s not at all necessary to run headlong to the store for a profile. Develop a design on your material.

Cost calculation

According to the list of materials, a calculation is made. Remove all products in stock from the list and count approximate cost remaining materials based on the highest or average price. Then calculate the cost of tools and various devices to facilitate assembly (for example, the cost welding machine). And if you have a welding machine, then the cost of electrodes or gas is calculated.

The truth is, you can't predict everything. For example, you decided to attach the seat of an old car to the structure, but it turned out that it was completely rusted. Therefore, you will have to choose something else. But if you find the missing elements cheaper, or even for nothing, then this will only please you and inspire you to new improvements.

Homemade cart for walk-behind tractor

Phased assembly and finishing are the most time-consuming processes:

  • it is necessary to select the details;
  • remove rust;
  • cut, if necessary, as indicated in the drawing;
  • fit them together;
  • connect.

The work is completed by painting the product.

Main works

The simplest frame for your device can be built from just two pipes and wheels on bearings. The body is bolted to the frame. You can install a spring to mitigate shaking on bumps.

A cart for a walk-behind tractor is easier to assemble if you have a wheelbase from an old unnecessary car, scooter, garden wheelbarrow. If you do not have the opportunity to purchase a ready-made wheelbase, you will have to do it yourself. At worst, an axle with wheels from a tractor or other agricultural equipment is suitable, but in some cases it will be necessary to reduce the spread of the wheels by cutting the axle and digesting the hubs.

Trailer assembly

  1. An additional pipe is welded or attached differently to the main pipe, serving as an axle, or a wheelbase assembly of a vehicle.
  2. On the other hand, a hitch for a walk-behind tractor is fixed.
  3. Hubs are welded or mounted on the ends of the pipe-axle.
  4. Fix the wheels with bolts or nuts.
  5. Attach an emphasis for parking.
  6. Attach the body and wings.

At the very end of the assembly, a seat is installed.

Body

The body is either wood or metal. Stiffeners can be installed on the sides and bottom. If the body is wooden, it makes sense to strengthen all corners with metal inserts. The tailgate is made to open.

Wheel installation

One of the options for fastening the hub is its pressing. To do this, the back of the hub is bored and mounted on a pipe or axle, taking care not to skew. Mount the wheel on the pins and fix all the nuts. IN last turn screw cap.

If you picked up ordinary wheels with an axle that rotates not in a bearing, but in a regular bushing, for example, from a garden wheelbarrow, then it is advisable to make the mount differently.

  1. A corner is inserted into the frame cross member or a piece of pipe is welded to it.
  2. A hole is drilled in the lower part of the corner or pipe to secure the bushing or wheel axle.

Hitch

A lightweight version of the hitch for a walk-behind tractor can be made from several parts. If you have ordinary pipes, not profile pipes, then the option will be exactly the same.

From the beginning of spring to late autumn on household plots and summer cottages life is screaming. You constantly need to bring something, transport, transport and the like. IN Lately Most summer residents use walk-behind tractors, motor cultivators and other devices for household needs. They are compact, easy to operate, multifunctional and do not take up much space. Most often, the products of the domestic enterprise Neva are used. The trailer for the Neva walk-behind tractor will be a good help in your household. In this article, we will tell you all about this equipment.

a brief description of

Why do you need this unit? Due to its versatility, the trailer for the Neva walk-behind tractor can be used for a huge number of different jobs:

  • movement of cargo;
  • removal of household waste;
  • transportation of agricultural products and equipment;
  • ancillary work.

At the same time, it should be noted that it is not recommended to drive a walk-behind tractor onto a busy highway. This is due to the fact that the Neva walk-behind tractor with a trailer has limited speed and maneuverability.

Among the rather impressive range of trailers, the most popular are units with a carrying capacity from two hundred and fifty kilograms to half a ton. Their towing devices are made of special metal, which is characterized by increased strength.

For better controllability of the walk-behind tractor, a brake system is installed on the body axle.

The trailer for the Neva MB 2 walk-behind tractor is in great demand among gardeners. Its feature is the presence of folding sides. This makes it possible to transport both small and bulk cargoes, as well as objects of impressive size.

Manufacturing

If you have everything you need, you can assemble a dump truck trailer for a walk-behind tractor with your own hands. It will meet all your requirements.

First of all, you will need the following tools:

  • channel number five;
  • jigsaw;
  • welding machine (for convenience, it is better to use a semi-automatic);
  • screwdriver;
  • Bulgarian.

Having prepared necessary tools you need to determine the dimensions of the trailer. The parameters of parts and blanks will depend on them. For work, you can use the drawings of the simplest models of the unit, which are found on the Internet at every step. See best options, but you can do without them:

  • a sheet of iron (up to 1 mm thick, otherwise the trailer will be unnecessarily heavy);
  • duralumin sheet.
  • The sequence of operations

    First of all, you need to assemble the frame. Smaller pipes (based on the design we are describing - 25x25 millimeters) are used as the front and rear crossbars, and the two larger pipes will become spars. All structural elements are fastened with welded seams. As a result, you will get a kind of lattice.

    After that, you can proceed to the manufacture of the body. The frame is strengthened by attaching twenty-five millimeter pipes to it perpendicular to the lattice grid. Then longitudinal pipes are attached to them using a welding machine, and four racks are attached to them. A strapping is welded to the tops of the racks.

    A dump truck trailer for a walk-behind tractor must have folding sides, preferably not only at the rear, but also on the sides. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to use a welding machine to connect into narrow pipes in three designs rectangular shape separate from the body.

    For sheathing the frame - making the bottom - we use duralumin, and for the sides - iron sheets. As fasteners, it is more expedient to use bolts. To attach the sides to the posts and harness, again you have to remember about welding.

    After that, you can start mounting the beam. To do this, you need to insert two channels into each other. Wheel axles are attached to the rear end of the resulting structure. After that, the beam is welded to the trailer frame using springs.

    Now you need to equip the dump trailer with a drawbar. The algorithm of actions is very simple. Two pipes with dimensions of sixty by thirty millimeters are taken. Their front parts are mated and welded to the base of the hitch. The rear parts of these pipes are attached to the spars with an overlap of two hundred millimeters.

    Many farmers are interested in how to make a trailer for a walk-behind tractor with their own hands. Accessories to a walk-behind tractor, such as a trailer, expand the capabilities of technology. The process of transporting firewood, hay, livestock feed, as well as any other cargo is facilitated.

    What is a trailer for a walk-behind tractor

    The towing device for the walk-behind tractor consists of:

    • body;
    • wheels;
    • wings;
    • seats;
    • drawbar;
    • brakes.

    The ability of the body to withstand a particular load depends on the quality of the assembly. The trolley must be made of durable material that can withstand the weight of the load and any weather. In addition, it is desirable that it has folding sides for ease of loading and unloading. Dimensions must be roomy and match the power of the walk-behind tractor.

    Wheels are used on carts: automobile, from a motorcycle, etc. The main thing is that it can withstand heavy loads.

    Wide wheels are most preferable, as this increases the vehicle's cross-country ability.

    Wings are also on cars. They serve as protection against stones and dirt from the wheels.

    All modern trailers are equipped with seats. Some craftsmen build a box under them to store the necessary things.

    The drawbar is a triangle-shaped mount that connects the trailer to the walk-behind tractor.
    Brakes will improve the process of transporting goods.

    Trailer equipment for walk-behind tractors can be purchased from manufacturers of agricultural machinery, or you can make a home-made trailer for a walk-behind tractor. Let's consider both options.

    There are many on the market finished models for motor cultivators. They have different sizes, weight category, carrying capacity and cost. Their plus is that they are assembled by professional mechanics according to pre-designed schemes. You don't waste your time or energy on it. The disadvantages are, firstly, in the search for a conscientious manufacturer that sells quality goods, and secondly, a good product is not cheap.

    The walk-behind tractor plays the role of a horse team. It acts as a drive connected by a drawbar to the trailer. For this purpose, such brands of walk-behind tractors as: Patriot, Ural, Cayman 320, Forza, Crosser, Foreman, Viking, Texas are suitable.

    You can make a trailer for the Neva walk-behind tractor made of durable metal. Load capacity of the body 500 kg. The trolley has a brake drive, which makes driving easier. On the Internet, you can find a lot of drawings of trailers for the Neva walk-behind tractor. They have a successful design with minimal consumables.

    See » Operating instructions for motoblock Kutaisi Super 610

    Among the finished models, you can find a device with a dump truck function. The design is basically the same as on a conventional trolley, but with a modification that allows unloading by folding the box. Although such a model is more expensive, it is necessary on the farm.

    The manufacture and assembly of the trolley is often done by the owners of the walk-behind tractors themselves. There are a lot of homemade products, but they can be assembled according to one principle - a running gear on wheels, sides and an axle to connect the trailer to a walk-behind tractor.

    How to make a trailer for a walk-behind tractor with your own hands

    Consider how to make a trailer for a walk-behind tractor with your own hands. It is important to be able to read drawings and diagrams, as well as to have the skills to use some tools.

    A home-made trailer for a walk-behind tractor is made according to diagrams and drawings, which are now in in large numbers can be found on websites. Before you get to work, you need to develop a drawing of a trailer for a walk-behind tractor. In addition, it is necessary to prepare all small parts for fastening, tools and welding machine.

    The dimensions of the trailer for a walk-behind tractor must be clearly drawn on the diagram, each detail is marked and highlighted from different sides.

    It is necessary to assemble the trailer, based on the power and dimensions of the walk-behind tractor. Equipment with insufficient traction power will not pull a heavy semi-trailer.

    Having dealt with the scheme, it is necessary to decide on the leading parts of the trailer. The basis is a frame and a hitch for a walk-behind tractor trailer. They are followed by a frame, a driver's seat and wheels (2 or 4 pcs.).

    They usually start with the main component of the cart - the frame, since it is on it that all the load falls during the transportation of goods, so it must be extremely strong. The ideal option there will be a finished axle with wheels, in which case you will not have to spend time and energy on additional settings. It is important that the materials are solid and not deformable. You can use pipes or a thick channel.

    The easiest way is a trailer variant assembled from 60x30 mm pipes welded together in the form of a frame. A traverse (steel crossbar) is attached to them. Transverse pipes are attached from different sides, which in the future will serve as racks. For strapping, pipes with a cross section of 25 mm are welded to the racks, and at the end - corner supports.

    It is preferable to weld the parts of the trolley together; bolting is considered not very reliable and short-lived. To reinforce the trolley, braces are added from below and an amplifier is welded.

    After completion of the support proceed to the assembly of the body. Any materials are suitable for this: wooden and metal, and it is possible combined option. It is desirable, of course, to make the base metal. For strength, it is preferable to make the bottom double. To make the sides fasten better, corners are welded along the edges. For easy loading and unloading, the sides can be made folding by placing them on a movable mount.

    There is no need to choose very heavy materials, as the weight of the assembled trailer will overload the engine of the walk-behind tractor. The simplest body is able to withstand weight up to 500 kg, and this is enough for a small farm.

    It is better to take wheels from used equipment, they already have hubs. The rods are being prepared on which the wheels will be held. It is desirable that the wheels are located directly under the sides. To mount the wheels, the rod is pre-sharpened to the size of the hub bearing. Instead of a rod, you can use devices from a VAZ beam.

    How to make trailer brakes

    Brakes for the motoblock trailer. The braking system facilitates and increases the safety of cargo transportation. There are many options for brakes, but as practice has shown, the brakes from the motorcycle turned out to be the most effective.

    How to make brakes on a trailer to a walk-behind tractor? Homemade trailer brakes are made from a cable, rod and drum. The drum must be attached to the rear wheel hub. The free spaces between the protrusions are filled with large wire. Next, a piece of pipe is welded to a pre-sharpened disc, which is mounted on the axle. Brake pads are attached to it, from which the cable to the lever will come. The brake is installed on only 1 wheel and this is quite enough to perform this function.

    You can make any seat on a walk-behind tractor with your own hands. It can be short or oblong. It is made in the form of a box or chest, in which you can later put tools or improvised items. If the side of the trolley is too low, then it is better to come up with a seat with a back so as not to strain the spine. To increase comfort, it is better to sheathe it with soft material.

    If a chair or armchair is used as a seat, then 2 deep slots are made for the legs, for immersion inside. Thus, the chair becomes removable.

    To attach a trailer to a walk-behind tractor, you need a hitch and a console. They can be removed from any decommissioned equipment.

    The device for the trailer can have 1 axle, which has a weak center of gravity. It is important to properly position the body so that there is no overstressing at the coupling point. Therefore, the center of gravity must fall under the axle of the wheels. With two-axle trailers it is much more reliable. The distribution of the weight of the load falls not on 2, but on 4 wheels. They are suitable for carrying loads up to 1400 kg. You can use a car trailer.

    How to attach a trailer to a walk-behind tractor

    Farmers are interested in how to join car trailer to the motoblock. To do this, you need an adapter for a walk-behind tractor, which you can build yourself. To connect the trailer to the walk-behind tractor, you need to remove the ball joint (towbars), and instead connect the hitch of the walk-behind tractor. When attaching a trailer to a walk-behind tractor, it is important to take into account 1 nuance regarding trailers: they do not have a brake system and a seat for drivers, because they are not designed for a walk-behind tractor. If the trailer does not drive onto a flat track, then in principle it is possible to do without brakes, but the seat must be built.

    A trailer with steering is a separate device on wheels with a seat, in front of which there is a walk-behind tractor, and behind a trolley. Such a connection of the trailer with a walk-behind tractor turns the equipment into a mini-tractor.

    Farmers use a trailer from an Ant scooter as a finished cart. The body of the scooter is very durable. It is indispensable for transporting heavy loads. It can easily transport up to 10 bags of compound feed, 500 kg of coal or 0.5 m³ of firewood. The tailgate opens. If desired, the height of the sides can be increased to the desired size.

    Foreword

    Having decided to use a walk-behind tractor for transporting goods, you have to decide which trailer to pick up for it. You can make a trolley yourself, taking into account your requirements for it and the capabilities of a manual mini tractor.

    We determine the main characteristics of the trailer - we focus on factory models

    The design of a cart for a walk-behind tractor is not super complex. With a grinder, electric welding and a drill, almost any owner of a manual mini tractor can make a trailer on their own. The main thing is to correctly draw up its drawing or sketch before assembling the cart, and then, strictly according to it, carry out all the work. To do this, you first need to decide on the main characteristics of the trailer: carrying capacity, dimensions, and some others. To simplify this procedure, it is recommended to focus on the factory, industrial production models of motoblock carts.

    Factory trailers are produced with a carrying capacity ranging from 300 kg to 1000 kg with bodies different sizes. These parameters depend on which walk-behind tractor the trolley is intended for use with, or rather, on its specifications. In accordance with this, 3 main types of trailers are distinguished: for heavy, medium and light manual mini tractors.

    With heavy, power over 10 hp. motoblocks, as a rule, use one- or two-axle carts with a body 2–3 m long and 1.2 m wide. Such trailers are designed to transport goods weighing 500–1000 kg.

    For medium manual mini tractors - from 4.8 to 10 hp. - single-axle bogies with a body size of 1.0 × 1.5 m, 1.1 × 1.4 and the like are oriented. Their load capacity is 300-500 kg.

    With a power of up to 4.8 hp, single-axle trailers with a body 0.85–1.15 m long and 1 m wide are usually used. The carrying capacity of these carts is not more than 300 kg.

    The height of the sides of factory standard trolleys for walk-behind tractors is 30–35 cm. On heavy-duty trailers, side rails are installed frame structure, whose height is 50–60 cm.

    To make it easier to load and unload, the tailgate of the carts is made reclining and removable. On some models, in addition to the rear, both side ones open and are removed, which increases the convenience of filling the body with cargo and releasing it from it.

    All standard trailers are manufactured by tipper. Models for medium and light walk-behind tractors do not have a hydraulic lifting cylinder and this function is implemented through the design of the trolley. The body on the trailer is installed so that its center of gravity and the load in it is located on the rotary axis, combined with the wheelset of the bogie. This balancing greatly facilitates manual tipping.

    Trolleys with a carrying capacity of more than 350 kg are equipped with a mechanical brake in accordance with the requirements of safety regulations.

    This is due to the fact that when descending a steep slope, it is impossible to extinguish the inertia of the movement of a loaded trailer only with the 1st brake of a manual mini tractor. Therefore, bogies must be equipped with their own braking system.

    How to properly design a trailer

    So, in order to avoid repeated redrawing of parts, alterations and, as a result, damage to the material and its endlessly protracted manufacture, it is necessary to do detailed drawing. To be more precise, there should be several of them: for all trailer nodes and, moreover, for each of them in several projections - views from different sides. For complex and critical parts, additional separate drawings should be made. The design of all nodes and their elements must be carefully drawn. Each detail should be signed: indicate its name and all dimensions.

    According to the finished drawings, it will be possible not only to visualize the volume and scale necessary work, but it is also easy and quick to make a list of all the tools and materials that you will need to assemble your own trailer. During the manufacture of the trolley, it may turn out that some important nuances were initially missed in the prepared sketches and / or there are no parts and assemblies necessary for the design. Therefore, before starting work, the drawings should be carefully studied, thinking through and considering the following points:

    • what main and auxiliary units the trailer will have and how they will need to be connected - by welding, twisting with bolts and nuts or riveting;
    • how will the movement and coordination with stationary rotary elements take place - through a hinge, bushing, bearing or axle;
    • is there a desire to make parking supports;
    • whether a tipper is needed for mechanical unloading of the body;
    • and so on.

    After that, it is possible that the drawings will have to be supplemented with some clarifications, detailing, or the missing nodes and elements that were not originally provided for should be drawn in them. But having done this, it will be possible to compile a complete correct inventory of the necessary materials and tools.

    Before purchasing necessary materials, you should see what is available on the site or in the garage. It may well be that there is something suitable for use in the assembly of the trailer. For example, a frame, other power and supporting structural elements can be made from any round or shaped pipes.

    Development of drawings for a trolley with a load capacity of up to 350 kg

    Such a trailer is suitable for any walk-behind tractor. It’s not worth it to try to make a more lifting cart with your own hands, since according to the above safety requirements, you will have to decide whether to equip it with your own braking system. To design or competently use a finished one, for example, from a light car, for the majority, it will simply be beyond their strength. On the other hand, by and large, it is technically quite difficult to make brakes with your own hands in order to achieve the necessary level of traffic safety from them on a walk-behind tractor with a loaded trailer.

    The choice of dimensions, dimensions of the body and the trailer itself primarily depends on the required load capacity. When determining them, one must proceed from the standards for factory carts given in the 1st chapter. To make a trailer with a carrying capacity of 350 kg with your own hands, you can use the drawings that follow. The dimensions of both main and parts can be changed depending on the available materials. Also, these drawings can be used as an illustrative example of how to properly design a trolley if you plan to assemble another version of it.

    The first drawing is general. It has all the main components - body, frame, wheels, carrier - and dimensions.

    Then a detailed drawing of the frame, which should be made of rectangular or round steel pipes. Connect them together by welding.

    Body in this option the trolley is made of boards, the thickness of which is 20 mm. The sides are all deaf - they do not recline.

    Carrier drawing. The main load is taken by the junction of the body of the rotary assembly with the drawbar. Therefore, their connection is reinforced with 4 stiffening ribs, which are drawn in section B-B.

    For the swivel assembly, as a complex critical element of the trailer, a separate drawing has been developed with detailed details of its design and elements.

    When using other materials in the design of this cart for a walk-behind tractor, the allowable weight of the goods transported may change.

    What materials and how can I use to assemble a trailer with my own hands

    The frame is easiest to weld from a corner, channels and profile pipe. I-beams and round pipes are also suitable.

    A steel bar should be taken as the wheel axle. Its diameter must be at least 30 mm, and its length must be at least 1070 mm, but so that the wheels do not protrude beyond the dimensions of the trailer. The rod is welded to the longitudinal hinge and the corner supports of the frame.

    The wheels will fit from some agricultural machinery or a motorcycle sidecar. Under the diameter of the bearings in their hubs, it will be necessary to grind the axis.

    The body is easier to do with your own hands from the boards, fastening them in the corners with metal corners. We fix it to the frame with bolts. Optimal Thickness boards 20 mm. To facilitate loading and unloading, it is better to make the sides folding. The bottom of the body can be made from edged board, but the trailer will be more reliable and durable if you use sheet metal, better thick 2–3 mm. A car seat is perfect as a seat.

    We make the hitch (swivel unit) of the cart with our own hands from a piece of steel that is suitable in size, having drilled or machined a hole in it, into which the console would easily enter. It is desirable to perform the rotary assembly according to the scheme proposed in the above drawing - using bearings of a suitable diameter. Their outer clip is tightly planted in the hitch body or welded to it, and the console is inserted into the inner one without play.
