What is a ventilation valve for? How to install a supply valve on a plastic window? Ventilation valve for plastic windows to ensure a constant flow of air into the room

Inlet valves for windows provide ventilation of the room - more efficient than with standard ventilation. I have seen this part assembled many times and found that the design is actually quite simple. I will tell you about the key features of the supply valves and how to properly install this device with your own hands.

Description of valves

Main varieties

Inlet window valves appeared on the market as a response to the claims of the owners of PVC windows to their excessive tightness. Indeed, the installation of metal-plastic glazing instead of standard wooden frames significantly affected the ventilation of the room.

If the old windows provided background air exchange due to the inflow through the slots (even when sealed, the inflow was maintained), then after the installation of PVC structures, the air flow was completely blocked.

The solution was the emergence of devices that were built into the window frame and provided an inflow fresh air into the room. And since it was required to ensure the unidirectional movement of air masses (i.e. inward, but not outward), valve systems began to be used.

I would single out several varieties of ventilation valves:

Illustration window valve type

Supply valve-pen.

A fairly simple device that provides background ventilation. Installed opposite the holes in the frame, made under the window handle. Throughput is regulated by a mechanical slider valve.

pros- compact size, attractive appearance.

Minus- the small area of openings does not provide the necessary intensity of ventilation.

Mechanical valve.

This is an oblong device that is placed opposite the hole in the top of the frame. Adjustment of the air flow is carried out using a curtain or valve. If necessary, ventilation can be completely blocked.

pros- simplicity of design, affordable cost.

Minus- the need to choose optimal mode work.

Automatic valve.

Outwardly similar to mechanical models, but works on a different principle. The intensity of ventilation is determined by the humidity in the room.

Plus - automatic operation in optimal mode.

Minus- high cost, the impossibility of complete blocking of ventilation.

These three types of ventilators for PVC windows are the most popular. Other models can be found on the market, but their share is insignificant, and they are used mainly for solving highly specialized tasks.

Device design

How the valve works supply ventilation for plastic windows? The principle of operation is determined by the design, which usually includes three elements:

  1. Main device. Installed indoors, performs the main function - the regulation of air flow. At mechanical models a slider valve or a rotary shutter is responsible for this. Automatics have a strip of hygroscopic material that changes in size as the humidity level changes.

Some models are additionally equipped with a deflector - a special plate that allows you to adjust the direction of the air flow.

  1. Mounting plate. A simple fixture that is used to install the valve itself on the sash. It is made of durable plastic (sometimes with metal reinforcement). On some models, the mounting plates are available with several latches, which makes it possible to install the valves in different positions.
  2. Outdoor visor. Placed on the outside of the window for protection air vent. It can be equipped with a grate that traps insects and small debris. Also a useful addition to the outer visor will be acoustic, which does not interfere with the passage of air, but significantly reduces the volume of external noise.

The supply of air to the room is ensured simply: air enters the room through the open vent of the valve. This is due to the work of exhaust ventilation, which is responsible for the removal of "waste" air masses.

Having a properly functioning hood is very important. If you block the removal of air, then installing a ventilation valve will become pointless: there will still be no inflow.

Automatic models also have a dependence on humidity: the higher it is, the more intense will be the air flow into the room. This normalizes the microclimate, and at the same time reduces heat loss. Savings are achieved simply: when there is no one in the room (that is, the humidity will be minimal), the valve almost completely blocks the flow of cool air from the outside.

Brand Overview

When choosing a supply valve for a plastic window, you may encounter certain difficulties. There are several models that look almost the same on the outside.

A brief overview of the most common brands of window ventilators:

Illustration Valve brand

Aereco- the leader in the segment, is made in Germany. Provides effective automatic flow control due to the hygroscopic element. It does not provide for the possibility of a complete overlap of ventilation.

Kit cost- from 2500 rubles.

SIEGENIA aeromat- another device German manufacturers. Can be installed on the side of the sash. Adjustable both manually and automatically (depending on the model), provides good airflow with a fairly compact size.

Price quite high - from 5 thousand rubles.

Titon- British brand of valves with a fairly simple and effective design. The most popular are models with mechanical adjustment of the slider type.

Price- from 600–700 rubles.

Ventair(Poland). The line includes both mechanical and automatic models. There are devices with soundproofing and heat-insulating inserts.

Price- from 1200 rubles.

air box- products Russian production. The inflow is regulated mechanically without taking into account the humidity in the room. The ventilator can be completely blocked.

Price a set with a standard visor - from 500 rubles (there are also more expensive models).

Of course, other products are also on sale, but in general, the table more or less fully conveys an objective picture. If you want to save money - purchase domestic products with simple mechanical adjustment. If finances allow, then pay attention to more functional and efficient European-made ventilators.

Advantages and disadvantages of the solution

Advantages of forced ventilation using valves

The ventilation valve for plastic windows is primarily an alternative to traditional ventilation with a slightly open sash. That's why I appreciate the advantages in this aspect.

  1. Permanent ventilation. Not everyone will keep the sash open all the time, and because of this, the room consistently receives less fresh air. There is no such problem with the valve.

  1. Uniform air exchange. Another aspect of the previous plus. Air is supplied constantly and in small portions - this is enough to maintain the level of oxygen in the apartment at an optimal level.

Here it is important to choose a model with ventilation of the desired intensity. For this reason, by the way, I dislike handle valves: their throughput is very low. And to achieve the effect, you have to install devices on all windows, which is long and expensive.

  1. Saving heat and maintaining a comfortable temperature. With micro-slit ventilation, the loss of thermal energy is very noticeable, and the air at the same time cools down greatly. When ventilating with a valve, the flow of cold air is dosed, and it even gets almost under the ceiling - into the warmest zone. As a result, discomfort is completely absent.

  1. Humidity normalization. Outside, drier air enters, which contributes to the establishment of a comfortable microclimate. In addition, as a result of a decrease in humidity in the room, the double-glazed window is less likely to fall out.

The second prerequisite for the implementation of this item is an efficiently working hood.

  1. Maintaining burglary resistance. Even the most efficient fittings only work in the closed position. That is why it is much safer to ventilate the window during the absence of the owners with the help of a valve than in the "classic" way.

Device Disadvantages

The climate window valve cannot be called a universal solution. He also has shortcomings.

  1. High price. Yes, you can find quite cheap models, but you will have to pay a lot for a functional device with automatic adjustment. Plus, installing a ventilator will cost you a certain amount - unless, of course, you decide to do everything yourself.
  2. Limited bandwidth. The volume of air entering the room through the valve depends on the area of the inlet. The compact dimensions of the products do not allow making this hole very large. So for a spacious apartment you need several inflow points, which can be expensive.

The throughput can be reduced as a result of incorrect installation - for example, when drilling a series of holes instead of milling a groove.

  1. Reduced sound insulation. Although the effectiveness of protection against loud sounds from the outside drops off a little, but if you live above a busy highway, the difference will not be difficult to notice. Various fixtures(acoustic inserts, compensating visors) solve the problem only partially.

  1. Freezing risk. In severe frosts (down to -25°C), frost sometimes forms on the top of the valve. The presence of hoarfrost does not greatly affect the temperature sensations, but it is still unpleasant.

Actually, I would call only the cost of products a significant disadvantage - it is quite possible to put up with other shortcomings.

Algorithm for installing a window ventilation valve

Tools and materials

To save money on equipping an apartment with ventilation devices, it is worth mastering the technology of installing them yourself.

Installation tools:

  1. Drill with a set of drills.
  2. Electric jigsaw.
  3. Screwdriver or screwdriver.
  4. Level.
  5. Roulette.
  6. File.
  7. Sealant gun.
  8. Template for milling holes.

As a rule, professional assemblers make a metal template that facilitates precise milling. For one-time work, you can get by with cardboard, or even mark the window with a marker and carefully work on it.

Materials:

  1. A set of parts for installing the valve - the device itself, mounting plate, visor.
  2. Mounting screws.
  3. Silicone sealant (transparent or matching the color of the window profile lamination).

All work should preferably be carried out with protective goggles and gloves. To equip PVC windows above the second floor with a valve, it is worth using a mounting safety belt.

The sequence of installation work

Standard installation instructions for supply air ventilators plastic windows provided in the table. Details may differ for different models, But general scheme mounting is saved.

Illustration Installation stage

Design preparation.

The window sash is removed from the hinges and installed in a vertical or inclined position.

The upper part of the fittings is removed from the sash - scissors and corner gear.

We dismantle strikers from the frame, which may interfere with milling.

Marking for milling.

A template is put on the overlay (vertical protrusion) of the sash, according to which the marking is carried out.

If there is no template, then you can mark the holes by simply attaching a mounting plate to the structure.

Sash milling.

According to the marking, a groove is milled for installing a ventilation valve. For this drill large diameter first, several holes are drilled, and then they are connected using a jigsaw.

Window chambers opened during milling are filled with silicone sealant to prevent moisture from entering and whistling when air passes.

Frame cutting.

We repeat the operations - marking and milling - on the overlay of the frame.

Mounting plate installation.

Apply to the surface of the mounting plate silicone sealant, which will ensure its tight fit to the sash.

We fix the mounting plate on the sash using self-tapping screws.

Valve installation.

We install the ventilation device on the sash by snapping the fasteners on the mounting plate.

Visor installation.

On the outside of the frame overlay, we install a protective visor. For fastening, we use self-tapping screws, we process the junction of the part with the frame with a sealant.

When mounting the visor, be careful: it is highly recommended to use insurance.

Completion of work.

We install the fittings and strikers in place, after which we hang the sash on the hinges.

We select the optimal ventilation mode on the ventilation valve.

Some models do not require milling grooves or drilling holes in the overlays - to install them, you just need to remove a fragment of the window seal. However, the area of the hole formed in this case is clearly insufficient for effective ventilation.

Conclusion

The valve installation scheme described by me will be within the power of any master with at least minimal dexterity. So, after reading the above tips and watching the video in this article, you can seriously save on the installation of supply ventilation. If you have any questions during the preparation or work, you can ask them in the comments!

In an apartment where plastic windows are installed, there is low level heat loss. No noise from the street is heard. However, these products also have their drawbacks. They contribute to the stagnation of air in the apartment and the formation of condensate. This can lead to the formation of fungus and cause various respiratory diseases. The supply valve on plastic windows will solve the problem, reviews of which will allow you to choose and install the ventilation element correctly. Advice from experts and ordinary users will help you make the best choice.

Disadvantages of plastic windows

In order to understand the need to install a supply valve, you should read the reviews about the main disadvantages of plastic windows.

The absence of drafts, compared to wooden windows, is, on the one hand, an advantage of the presented products. However, ventilation has to be done by opening the flaps. IN winter period this procedure leads to large heat losses.

When the windows are closed, odors and carbon dioxide stagnate in the rooms. Without for plastic windows, according to user reviews, condensation forms and air humidity constantly rises. This is not a healthy state of the atmosphere in the home. The supply valve for plastic windows, reviews of which will be discussed later, is able to prevent the development of fungus and mold, and remove condensate.

In order not to negate all the functions of plastic windows, the presented device should be used.

Main characteristics

The supply valve is a device that performs ventilation functions. It is installed on top of the window sash and is located horizontally. According to the reviews of experts and ordinary users, supply ventilation valves on plastic windows eliminate high humidity and condensation, and also maintain a healthy indoor climate.

This device has a number of advantages. The supply ventilation valve for plastic windows, reviews of which are presented in our review, does not change the light opening of the window. It does not create drafts, there is no heat loss, no sounds from the street are heard. The supply of fresh air is sufficient. According to reviews, supply ventilation valves for plastic windows can be adjusted.

Another positive quality can be considered the ease of installation of this device.

Principle of operation

After reading the reviews of expert installers, we can conclude that the supply air vent for plastic windows must be correctly installed in order to perform its functions in full.

Installation involves removing part of the rubber seal on the sash and window frame. Instead, a special, thinner material will be installed. The supply ventilation valve for plastic windows, reviews of which are mostly positive, is installed along with a new seal.

Through the presented device, street air enters the apartment, and moist internal masses are pushed out through the ventilation ducts back out. The circulation process occurs due to the pressure difference.

Valve assemblies

After reading the reviews of professional installers about the supply air vent for plastic windows, you can get an idea of its device. The product consists of several parts.

The outer side is outside the window. She takes in air from outside. A visor must be installed above the outer side, which will prevent water or snow from getting inside the valve.

Supply ventilation valves for plastic windows, reviews of which were provided by experts, also have a telescopic channel. It passes through the frame, i.e. it cuts into the plastic of the frame body and is fixed with a sleeve.

The interior is located directly inside the room. It is a unit consisting of an exhaust nozzle, a simple filter and an airflow adjustment mechanism.

Basic job requirements

According to experts in the field of ventilation technology, supply ventilation valves for plastic windows operate under certain conditions.

Automatic extraction occurs if the outside temperature does not exceed +5 °C. Otherwise, ventilation stops its work, therefore its implementation should be carried out by force.

The inlet reviews, which we are considering today, function correctly, provided that the ventilation in the apartment is functioning properly.

Also gaps under interior doors must be at least 2 cm. Entrance door must be hermetically sealed.

Valve types

According to consumer reviews, there are a great many models of supply valves for plastic windows. According to the material from which they are made, there are metal, wood or plastic products.

According to the control method, there is an automatic and manual supply ventilation valve for plastic windows. Consumer reviews make it clear that automatic varieties are more convenient to use. They determine on their own when to open or close the vent. Moreover, the settings can be set based on indicators of humidity and pressure drops inside the room.

Manual control involves changing the opening / closing of the ventilation hole using a special rope. The desired level is selected The profile may freeze due to incorrect adjustment in winter time. That is why most consumer reviews tend to choose automatic supply valves for plastic windows.

Air intake

According to the way air enters the room, there are folded, slotted and overhead valves for supply ventilation on plastic windows. Reviews of people who have tried the presented devices in their premises indicate the following.

One of the most economical options are rebate supply valves. Cold air in this case enters through small cutouts in the porch. Windows can not be dismantled. However, such designs are quite low.

Higher throughput, according to consumer reviews, has slotted supply ventilation valves on plastic windows. They are also installed without dismantling windows.

However, air is best passed overhead devices. Their only drawback is the need to adjust the opening to the size of the valve. If a double-glazed window is installed, this type of product will not work.

Handle valve

The valve handle is a very convenient device. It is installed instead of an ordinary window handle. Of the advantages of this device, it should be noted that there are no changes appearance window.

These are quite interesting supply valves for plastic windows. User reviews assure that the ventilation valve in this case can be located where condensate most often collects on the window.

This is very efficient device to remove moisture. Such a valve does not freeze through, as it has a direct-flow design. Also, the handle valve has a built-in filter that does not let dust into the room.

Valve selection

Among the many options for models on the market for such ventilation equipment, you can get lost.

Manufacturers with a good history that have long existed on the supply valve market are more popular. These are conscientious companies that have confirmed the quality of their products through years of responsible work.

According to consumer reviews, high-quality supply valves for plastic windows are produced by manufacturers such as Siegenia, Rehau and Aereco.

The main rule when choosing the presented products is not to save on quality. It should also be understood that the possibility of severe frosts must also be taken into account when choosing a supply valve for plastic windows. Reviews say that if the temperature outside the window drops below -30 ° C, then external elements many structures freeze, and there is a constant supply of cold air.

Plastic double-glazed windows everywhere replace the old ones wooden windows. And no wonder, because they perfectly retain heat, protect from street noise, they are easy to wash and do not need to be sealed for the winter. But there are also disadvantages…

Sealed plastic windows disrupt the usual air exchange between the street and the apartment, which leads to high humidity, and walls, stuffiness and the spread of mold. How to get rid of condensate without valves -.

Full ventilation of the premises is difficult to carry out almost around the clock, especially in winter. Drafts are very dangerous, and simple. Special ventilation valves for plastic windows will come to the rescue. From the article you will learn about the benefits, varieties and methods of installing this useful device.

Advantages of ventilation valves

Installing ventilation valves on plastic windows solves many problems and makes life noticeably more comfortable. Obvious advantages of using them:

  • Normalization of the microclimate of the apartment. A stable supply of air from the outside reduces humidity, which prevents the formation of condensation and mold.
  • Airing occurs without dust and insects from the street entering the rooms. In addition, the noise level does not increase and there are no dangerous drafts. There is no danger of children and pets falling out of the windows, as well as the penetration of strangers from the street.
  • The supply of fresh air occurs around the clock, it is comfortable to be in the room and it is easy to breathe.
  • If desired, you can manually adjust the intensity of ventilation or completely close the ventilation valves.
  • During the winter, the outside air warms up a little as it passes through the device, which saves heat when there is sufficient oxygen.
  • Easy to install and operate.

Ventilation valves are a simple and inexpensive way to improve the quality of life.

Valve types

There are 4 main types that differ in the installation method and some functional features:

  1. folded;
  2. slotted;
  3. invoices;
  4. handle valve.

The cheapest and easiest to install option. The advantage of this variety is that for installation it is not necessary to remove and disassemble the window. For installation, it is enough to make small cuts in the porch of the window through which air from the street will pass.

The throughput of such valves is small, ventilation can sometimes be insufficient, but sound insulation is not reduced at all. The air flow is regulated manually, using a special valve.

They provide more efficient ventilation compared to seam valves, due to the increased throughput. This type of valves also does not require the dismantling of windows during installation.

The slot for air inflow has a size of 1.2-1.6 cm in height, 17-40 cm in width. The device is protected from dust and insects by a special access block installed on the outside of the window.

Valves of this variety can only be mounted simultaneously with the installation of plastic windows, since they require a special place on the frame. It is not possible to install in an existing double-glazed window.

Overhead ventilation valves are characterized by increased throughput and provide excellent ventilation, but worsen sound insulation and heat savings.

The original solution to the problem of ventilation, which has several advantages:

  • The direct-flow device prevents the window profile from freezing and the formation of condensate when cold air enters
  • In complex work with the exhaust system, the valve reduces humidity and maintains a comfortable microclimate in the room.
  • The device provides a natural flow of air, which makes it comfortable to use in the cold season.
  • Ventilation of such a modification does not impair the design of windows.

In addition, a special air filter protects the room from dust. The filter requires regular replacement (every 6 months).

How to choose a vent valve

The optimal version of the ventilation device should be selected individually for each room, based on its features and operating requirements. Important parameters when choosing:

  • Installation requirements: the choice depends on whether the valve is to be installed in existing plastic windows, or a new double-glazed window with ventilation will be installed.
  • The desired control option is manual, mixed or fully automatic.
  • Climatic conditions. It is important to understand under what temperature conditions the valve has to work so that it does not violate the requirements for thermal insulation, does not overgrow with ice and effectively performs its functions.
  • Intensity of air exchange - the design must provide sufficient air flow from the street. The standard is approximately 30 cubic meters per hour per person.
  • The degree of sound insulation.

Today there is big choice ventilation valves, allowing you to purchase best option for every case.

For example, a ruler for windows called Air box from the Russian manufacturer - the company Mabitek.

The range is represented by three main classes:

  • standard- the easiest option. It includes two main elements - an external air intake located below, and an upper conductor to the room. The valve petals open when the exhaust ventilation is operating due to air discharge. Such ventilation provides air flow in the amount of about 6 cubic meters per hour.
  • Comfort- mounted in a rubber seal or in a window profile to choose from (with or without window profile milling). The AirBox Comfort ventilation damper has good soundproofing properties.
  • Comfort S– special design for non-opening window profiles. During installation, through drilling is required for straight-through operation.

The ventilation of this range is characterized by optimal combination efficiency, low cost, compact dimensions and ease of installation. All this allows her to lead the market for similar products.

IMPORTANT! Effective work flow-type valves is possible only if it is fully functioning exhaust ventilation.

Another popular ventilation group was developed by the French company Aereco. Installation is possible either on the wall of the room, or in the slot of the window block.

The regulation of air exchange in the devices of this manufacturer is carried out automatically, using a special sensor. The size of the ventilation hole depends on the humidity in the room - the higher it is, the wider the valve opens.

  • EMM- a popular model, presented in three color solutions– white, oak and teak. The air exchange of the valve is from 5 to 35 cubic meters per hour, the regulation is carried out by a humidity sensor.
  • EHA2- characterized by increased throughput - from 5 to 50 cubic meters per hour and increased sound insulation - 42 dB.

French vents are higher priced but do not require manual adjustment.

Self-installation of the valve

Most models allow you to do the installation yourself. This will require a minimum of tools and time. For example, to install a slotted valve, you will need the following kit:

  • valve itself;
  • yardstick;
  • Screwdriver Set;
  • window seal;
  • construction or clerical knife;
  • plugs.

Installation instructions:

  1. Select a location for installing the valve.
  2. Check the compatibility of the ventilation dimensions and the allotted space - to do this, open and close the window sash by applying a valve. It should not rest against the window slope.
  3. Make side cuts on the rubber seal at the installation site.
  4. Pull out a fragment of the "native" window seal and insert the fastener in its place.
  5. Release the valve from the packaging and film, and fix it with self-tapping screws in the prepared place.
  6. Install additional seals included in the package between the fasteners.
  7. Remove the window seal in front of the installed ventilation with a clerical knife, put in its place the one attached to the valve.

If desired, the installation service can be ordered from a supplier or an organization that installs plastic double-glazed windows. Its cost is usually low.

Care is limited to periodic wiping of the surface from dust and dirt. Some models require periodic air filter replacement.

Regardless of the type of supply ventilation valves on PVC windows, their installation is great solution problems of insufficient ventilation in the room, as well as the prevention of excessive dampness and mold.

Ventilation devices are different designs, but they are all small holes in a plastic window through which air from the street enters the frame, passes a small gap there and enters the room.

The valves are adjustable, so the flow will flow in the amount necessary for the owner, and if desired, completely blocked.

Most often used for domestic purposes, but also popular for industrial, retail and office space.

What is it needed for:

  1. The room is ventilated around the clock. Thanks to installed valve into the apartment, air comes from the street. And even in winter, when normal ventilation is not possible, ventilation will provide a constant supply of freshness. Also, you can manually adjust the ventilation intensity or completely block the throughput channels.
  2. It is possible to ventilate the room without dust, noise, insects and painful drafts. Fresh air from the street enters a special space inside the frame. Passing through it, the air warms up (this applies to winter time, when it is cold outside) and enters the room without dust and insects.
  3. The microclimate of the room improves. Ventilation leads to a decrease in the level carbon dioxide and humidity. Windows become less likely to fog up and form fungus or other viruses. Thus, the microclimate of housing becomes much better.

Advantages:

  1. Ventilation of the room occurs with closed windows, so the penetration of intruders becomes unlikely.
  2. Easy to use- set and forget.
  3. Keeping warm in the apartment when ventilating.
  4. Increases the operating life of the premises, due to the normal level of humidity and the absence of mold or fungus (such problems are especially relevant for balconies and kitchens).

Valve- this is a hole in a plastic window through which air from the street enters the frame, passes a small gap there and enters the room. The orifice dimensions can be adjusted to suit the required flow.

Varieties

There are three types of ventilation valves:

Folded

The principle of rebate ventilation

This is the simplest and most economical option. The influx of fresh air is carried out due to small cuts in the porch. This type practically retains sound insulation, but has a very small throughput, due to which the ventilation will be inferior.

Installation does not require dismantling of plastic windows. Valves of this type are mounted in already installed structures, which is their main advantage.

slotted

This type has a large capacity. Ventilation occurs due to the gap, which is 12–16 mm high and 170–400 mm wide. Outside, the hole is covered with a pass block, which prevents dust and insects from entering.

Also mounted in installed plastic frames, but more efficient than the folded type.

Overhead

Provide the best ventilation, however, have some disadvantages. Firstly, they cannot be installed ready-made plastic construction, since it is necessary to prepare a place on the frame for it in advance. Secondly, they have poor sound and heat insulation.

This type is best used in production shops.

Criterias of choice

To installed ventilation device brought maximum effect, it is necessary to choose the best option for each case.

Therefore, valves differ in the following characteristics:

  1. Air exchange parameters: the inflow must flow in the required volume, when calculating 30 m 3 / hour per person.
  2. Noise level: Basically, plastic windows have an indicator of 30-35 dB.
  3. Operation in winter: the damper must be adequately insulated to prevent icing and not interfere with ventilation.
  4. Adjustment option: automatic control, manual and mixed is possible.
  5. Mounting method: it is necessary to choose whether the valve will be installed in old windows or new double-glazed windows should be ordered with ventilation calculation?

Attention! Do not consider options without the ability to adjust the level of air exchange. As practice shows, this parameter is necessary.

Types of structures

The most popular at the moment are two options: Aereco and Air-Box. Consider their features and principle of operation.

Aereco

Aereco valves
  1. EMM. The most common option, which is equipped with hygroregulation technology. The built-in sensor regulates the width of the opening depending on the humidity of the room. This type of construction is mounted vertically or at an angle. Available in three colors: oak, teak and white. Throughput - 5–35 m 3 / hour.
  2. EHA2. It is also equipped with a sensor, but has a large air flow - 5-50 m3 / h and more advanced acoustic capabilities (42 dB, versus the usual 37).

Air box

Air-Box Comfort Vent Valve

The Russian company Mabitek also released a line of ventilation valves.

They are installed on blocks of any design and are almost invisible:

  1. standard. This is a standard version, which consists of two parts: an external one, which collects air, and an internal one, which supplies it to the room. When the ventilation is running, the flaps of the damper open and allow about 6 m3/h to pass through.
  2. comfort. Soundproof option, which involves installation in window profile or in sealing rubber, which is much easier and faster.
  3. Comfort S. Assumed for blind windows. Through holes are drilled, due to which direct blowing occurs.

Air-Box is the leader among other valves due to its economical cost, efficiency, small size and ease of installation.

Installation

Installation scheme

Virtually all companies that sell valves offer their installation services. Their cost is low, but the amount of work is small. We invite you to read the instructions for self-assembly. For example, we will tell you how to install a slot-type ventilation device.

Required materials and tools:

  • construction knife;
  • screwdriver;
  • ruler;
  • valve;
  • seal and plugs;

Walkthrough:

  1. Remove all unnecessary from the windowsill.
  2. open window.
  3. On top sealing rubber measure the length of the purchased valve.
  4. With a knife make two cuts and remove the intermediate piece.
  5. Install instead new sealing rubber.
  6. measure distance from the edge of the window to the beginning of the new seal.
  7. Set aside the same distance on the upper sash of an open window and make an incision in the seal.
  8. Measure the length of the future valve on the flap and make a second cut.
  9. Remove the intermediate piece.
  10. Instead of the old seal install three plugs wide side up. They should move freely on the side of the window.
  11. Install plugs at a distance corresponding to the valve mountings.
  12. Peel off the strip double sided tape on the valve and glue it to the window, pressing it firmly against the installed plugs.
  13. Screw screws in fasteners.
  14. Glue shorter seals between fixtures.

Ways of regulation

Valve with humidity control sensor

Depending on the structure and mechanism, the ventilation device can regulate the level of air exchange or block it. This process can be automated or manual.

The first option is equipped with a hygroregulation (moisture sensitivity) sensor, according to which the throughput changes. If the room has a high level of humidity, the width of the hole will be maximum.

Otherwise, when the room is empty, the air supply is cut off. IN manual version You have to constantly adjust the width of the section for a comfortable stay. The only thing that this option is designed for is a restriction in case of strong gusts of wind.

Another and very important advantage of ventilation valves is easy maintenance. For full-fledged work, it is enough to clean the surface of dirt once a year. This is the necessary service.

Price and reviews

The ventilation valve is only an addition to a plastic window, so its cost should not exceed the price of a conventional double-glazed window. On average, the best option is 20-40 USD. e.

Catherine:

In the summer, we open the windows at night so that the children can sleep in the fresh air. In winter, this is no longer possible. Even if you ventilate the room right before going to bed, after 30-40 minutes it will be stuffy again. That is why two valves were installed. Now it's fresh all day, and it doesn't blow at all. In general, the best option for a child's room.

Igor:

When ordering windows for the whole house, they asked the manager about ventilation. She advised not to install valves, since with our climate they can freeze in winter and not close. They are more suitable for Europe than for us.

Alexander:

We bought an apartment where developers used windows with ventilation. Previously, we did not know about their existence, so we would hardly have ordered. We've been using it for two years now and we're happy with it.

In general, if you are a fan of freshness and regularly ventilate the room, ventilation valves are made just for you.

Plastic windows have gained wide popularity all over the world, as they have a lot of advantages compared to outdated ones. wooden frames. They do an excellent job of saving heat, so after installing them, a significant improvement in the temperature in the room is found.

The complete tightness of the windows limits the flow of fresh air into the room, therefore, the structures have two ventilation modes: macro- and micro-ventilation. But, standard designs of ventilation modes have disadvantages: during micro-ventilation, there is an insufficient supply of air volume, and during macro-ventilation, drafts are formed. To solve the problem, there is a special device - a supply ventilation valve for plastic windows, which this material will tell about.

Ventilation valves and their advantages

It is imperative to ventilate the room so that there is sufficient humidity in the room and bacteria do not accumulate in the air.

Let's look at what they have the following advantages:

  • installation of devices is carried out without violating the tightness of windows;
  • ventilation is provided constantly with the windows closed;
  • lack of formation of condensate and mold in damp rooms;
  • ease of use of products;
  • controlled air intake saves heat;
  • automatic regulation of fresh air intake, so a person does not need to monitor the ventilation time;
  • reduces the likelihood of intruders entering the house, as the windows are constantly closed.

The design of the valve is a plastic device that is mounted on the top of the frame plastic window. Ventilation is carried out automatically - by means of a built-in mechanism in a plastic case.

What are the products

Ventilation valves are divided into the following types:

  1. slotted. These devices are divided into automatic and mechanical. Air enters the room through a channel measuring 170-400 * 12-16 mm. The advantage of the device is the ease of installation, which does not require the removal of window frames;
  2. Seam type valves. The intake of outside air into the room is ensured by means of special seam-type cuts. The advantages of the device are its low cost and ease of installation that does not require removal. window frame. The disadvantage is due to: low throughput;
  3. Overhead. The advantage of overhead valves is the supply of a large volume of air. In this regard, the following disadvantages follow: low rates of heat and sound insulation, as well as the inability to install the valve on an existing plastic window.

Micro ventilation valve Air-Box

airbox comfort

Air-Box ventilation valves have been developed Russian manufacturers. The advantage of products is due to the possibility of installation on windows of any design. In addition, the valve can be placed in the fold of the window block, which makes the product hidden.

Airbox offers three types of valves: Standard, Comfort and Comfort S.

airbox standard

The ventilation valve Air-Box Standart consists of two structural parts: lower and upper. Top part the valve provides air flow to the room, and the lower one takes air from the street. The functioning of the device is based on the air discharge, if the exhaust ventilation is functioning in the room. When the windows are closed, the petals of the device open, which will allow for air exchange with a volume of 6 m3 / h.

The configuration of the Air-Box Comfort ventilation valve, unlike the Standard, has one advantage - a noise-protective function. Also, the devices differ in mounting options. Installation can be carried out both with the help of profile milling and without it. The millless type of installation is carried out independently, for which you will need to remove the seal and install the device. Models of the Comfort S type are often intended for installation on blind window models, where the window profile is supposed to be drilled.

Air-Box valves gained wide popularity due to their low cost, high efficiency operation and ease of installation. How to install a ventilation valve with your own hands, we will learn further.

Device installation

Installation of ventilated valves is carried out in two ways. Let's consider both options in order to have an idea about the device installation technology.

For the first option it is typical to remove the installed double-glazed window with its subsequent replacement with a new one, which is smaller. A valve is installed in the gap formed between the double-glazed window and the frame. The process does not require drilling of the plastic structure, but has some disadvantages:

  • additional costs, as it will be required - not only to order a new double-glazed window, but also to call the master to install it;
  • glass area reduction;
  • it is problematic to install the valve yourself.

Second option the most popular and does not require replacement of double-glazed windows with new ones. Installation is carried out quickly and independently. How the installation process looks like, we will learn further.

For installation - we need the following tool: stationery knife, ruler and screwdriver.

The valve is supplied with fasteners and two seals 35 cm long.

One of the seals must be installed from the inside of the sash. To do this, open the window, measure 35 cm in the upper part of the sash and, using a clerical knife, cut off the standard seal. Instead, a seal from the kit is mounted. Opposite the cut seal, on the inside of the frame, we measure and cut the regular seal in the same way. In this place - we also mount the seal from the kit. Then, three special fasteners should be installed, on which the valve itself will be mounted (depending on the delivery).
To install the valve, you must first remove protective film, after which - glue the product to the profile. The valve mounts must be pressed tightly against the installed plugs. Self-tapping screws fix the valve on the frame. This completes the installation and you can start testing the device.

Adjustment

After installation, you can start testing it. If the valve is for manual air flow control, then it is enough to move the lever on the product to the left or right side. Automatic way regulation is carried out using a hygrometer sensor. This sensor measures the humidity in the room, therefore, when it increases, the valve opens completely. Automatic control method does not require human intervention. In addition, ventilation is carried out if there are people in the room or the humidity of the air rises to certain parameters. The disadvantage of this type of sensor is the high cost, so installing such devices on all windows will require a decent amount.

The manual method of regulation is less effective and requires the participation of the human factor. If you need to ventilate the room, then the valve is opened manually. The automatic valve is able to close when there is a gusty wind outside.

Also, the advantage of the valve is the ease of maintenance. To do this, it is enough to carry out preventive maintenance of the device once a year and clean it from debris and dust.

If you plan to install a supply valve, then it is recommended to give preference to automatic options, as they are much more efficient and contribute to better heat conservation in the room.
