Air sewer valve 110. What is a sewer air valve. Where and how to install the valve

Hello dear reader! Nowadays, few people are satisfied with a house without amenities, where a bathroom is not equipped, absent. However, if the plumbing is installed incorrectly in the room, normal air exchange can be disrupted and sewer gases, consisting of substances harmful to human health, can penetrate into it. To solve this problem on the riser and near plumbing fixtures.

A barrier to the smell from the sewer are water valves in the siphons of plumbing fixtures. But with a sharp drain of a large amount of water in the pipes, the pressure decreases, and water is sucked out of the siphons. Obstacles to the penetration of the smell at this moment no longer exist and it can freely enter the room. The reasons for the appearance of smell can also be the small size of the siphons or a long downtime of plumbing, leading to the evaporation of water in the siphons.

Sewer ventilation in the form of a fan pipe or an air valve helps protect the room from unpleasant odors. The air entering through them equalizes the internal pressure in the pipeline with atmospheric pressure. Under such conditions, the gases are not forced out through the siphons, but move further through the pipes into the collector system or septic tank.

Why do you need a valve for the sewer riser?

The fan valve in the drainage system performs the following functions:

  • minimizes the threat of wastewater flow in the opposite direction;
  • reduces the noise level in the sewer;
  • protects the premises from flooding in case of gusts in the system;
  • does not allow a fetid odor to enter the room in the event of a long downtime of the sewer system;
  • minimizes the threat of rodents entering the building through sewer pipes.

The device and principle of operation of the fan valve

The air valve includes:

  • plastic case with side opening;
  • a cover that can be removed for cleaning the device or carrying out repairs;
  • rubber membrane or stem;
  • sealing gasket designed to seal the structure and limit the stroke of the rod.

The principle of operation of the device is as follows:

  • if the pressure in the riser is equal to or slightly higher than atmospheric pressure, the valve is in the closed state and does not let gases from the sewer into the room;
  • when water is drained from plumbing fixtures, a vacuum occurs inside the pipeline, as a result of which the stem (membrane) is displaced and the device opens;
  • air enters through the valve, which equalizes the pressure. The stem begins to move in the opposite direction and closes the valve.

According to the principle of operation, air valves are divided into three types:

  • automatic - are used mainly for installation in small private houses, as they are not able to withstand strong water pressure and a significant amount of air. Works only to discharge accumulated air;
  • kinetic (anti-vacuum) - designed to release or inlet air in systems with a low level of pressure;
  • combined - combine all the best technological capabilities of the two previous devices.

Since the sewer line has vertical and horizontal sections, a ventilation valve with a different design of the operating mechanism is selected for each of them:

  • ball aerator. The shutter part is in the form of a ball, which is pressed against the drain hole by means of a spring. It is used for installation on horizontally located sections of pipes of small diameter at the point of connection of plumbing fixtures;
  • receiving model. The design of the device includes a filter designed to trap solid particles from wastewater and prevent them from passing further into the sewer system. It is produced with a diameter of 20 cm and is used for installation in front of the pump of a horizontal pipeline line;
  • interflange aerator. It is a compact and lightweight device that can be placed both on a vertical riser and on a horizontal pipeline line. Depending on the design of the body, it can be through-flow (the water flow passes through it without changing its direction) and angular (when passing through the valve, the flow of the transported medium changes direction by 90º). Modifications with a locking body in the form of a plate have a diameter of 1.5 to 20 cm. The diameter of double-leaf models is from 5 to 70 cm;
  • check valve equipped with a rotary or petal mechanism. It has a shut-off body in the form of a spool, which, when pressure drops in the system, is tightly pressed against the seat. Large diameter aerators can break quickly due to hard impacts of the spool against the seat surface. Further operation of such a damaged device can lead to water hammer in the system. To reduce the effect of shock, valves of large diameters are equipped with a damper.

Valves and mounting method differ:

  • for welding. It is used in systems transporting especially aggressive environments of industrial enterprises;
  • coupling - threaded couplings are used for fastening;
  • flanged - a vacuum valve is clamped between flanges installed at the ends of pipes;
  • flanged with sealing gaskets.

Pros and cons

Installing an air valve in your drainage system provides many benefits, including:

  • saving money that will be required for work on the removal of the fan pipe through the roof;
  • the ability to prevent the penetration of sewer gases into the rooms in the presence of an unventilated riser.

The disadvantages of the fan valve include:

  • the possibility of the water seal drying out, as a result of which unpleasant odors can get inside the house;
  • rapid wear of rubber seals, the consequence of which may be loss of tightness;
  • the difficulty of choosing the installation site of the product, since it is possible to achieve a more complete fit only on the sockets;
  • the need for regular maintenance of the device and replacement of worn parts.

Specifications, diameters and manufacturers

The sewer aerator model is selected according to the main technical characteristics:

  • diameter - 50, 75, 110 mm;
  • throughput - from 7 to 37 l / s (at the rate of 25 l / s per 1 liter of water).

The Russian market for sewage systems offers products from manufacturers from different countries:

  • Austria - the most expensive devices of the HL company;
  • Great Britain - products from the mid-price segment from McAlpine;
  • Russia - low-cost devices from Politek and Sinicon;
  • Ukraine - products from the cheap segment of the Europlast enterprise.

How to choose the right valve?

When choosing an air valve for sewage, they are guided by the location of the pipe (vertical or horizontal) in the place where it is planned to be installed. The device must correspond to the nominal pressure in the network, have the appropriate installation dimensions.

You also need to consider:

  • how the aerator will be attached;
  • strength of the material, its anti-corrosion properties;
  • the possibility of manual adjustment, in case of breakage of the mechanism;
  • the presence of protection for the entry of rodents.

Where and how to install the valve?

When installing the valve, it is necessary to follow a number of rules that will allow you to fulfill your purpose as efficiently as possible, namely:

  1. Aerators may only be installed in rooms with constant heating.
  2. The device must be placed in a place where there is free access so that there are no problems with maintenance in the future.
  3. If there is a grate in the floor of the room, then the distance from the floor level to the appliance must be at least 35 cm.
  4. The installation of the automatic valve must be carried out at a point in the system that is 10 cm above the maximum level of flow into the main riser in order to prevent clogging of the aerator with waste and feces passing through the system.
  5. The device must be mounted in a vertical position directly in the socket of a straight sewer line at a distance of at least 0.2 m from the nearest siphon.

Possible places for installing the device

Aerators of modern design can be installed:

  • in a vertical riser that has an exit through the roof;
  • models of cylindrical aerators with a lid are placed on a fan pipe, simple valves are suitable for individual plumbing fixtures: a toilet bowl, a sink, a bathroom or a washbasin;
  • devices with a diameter of 50 mm are mounted on long horizontal pipes or on lines with a transition between sections of one diameter to another. Observance of the slope during the installation of pipelines will promote the natural flow of drains and prevent the occurrence of stagnation and fetid odor;
  • devices with a diameter of 110 mm are mainly placed on a fan pipe; mounting on an auxiliary riser is possible.

Installation steps step by step

Installing the device is quite simple, it is quite possible to do it yourself according to the following scheme:

  • determine the place of installation;
  • disconnect the pipeline section from the operating system;
  • cut a piece of pipe in the riser according to the size of the device;
  • clean the edges of jagged;
  • install the sealing ring in the socket. If a threaded type of connection is used, then a gasket is not needed;
  • fix the valve on the pipe;
  • make a test run of water to check the operation of the mechanism.

Sewer gases not only smell bad, but can also cause considerable harm to health. Aerators will help block the penetration of these harmful substances into the apartment and prevent the tenants from being poisoned by them. Subscribe to our channel and share useful ideas on social networks.

In order for the sewerage in the house to work efficiently and not create unnecessary problems, it is necessary to take into account many nuances. One of these moments is blocking the entry of unpleasant odors from pipes into the room.

To do this, all plumbing fixtures are equipped, and the central riser is equipped with a fan (ventilation) pipe. If the fan pipe does not cope with its duties or it is absent at all, a sewer aerator can be installed.

Installation of this device is optional, and is done both on an already working system and on a new one.

What is a sewer aerator and why is it needed

The sewer air valve is a small plastic device with a hole in the housing for air supply. Inside it there is a channel for the passage of air and a damper, which is triggered by the action of a membrane or rod.

The duties of a sewer aerator include:

  1. blocking unpleasant odors in pipes;
  2. stabilization of internal and external pressure in the pipeline.

Principle of operation

As mentioned above, the operation of this device is to block sewer gases and compensate for pressure in the pipes. The lock for an unpleasant smell is usually a siphon, but not always successfully.

Video: What is a sewer vacuum valve for?

The thing is, when a large amount of drained liquid enters, the so-called volley discharge, a lot of pressure is formed in the system. When the water reaches the central riser and rushes in, a vacuum is formed in the pipes, which leads to the breakdown of the hydraulic seals. After that, the smell freely penetrates the room. To prevent this from happening, the riser is equipped with a ventilation pipe and is displayed on the roof.

However, this method has several drawbacks. Firstly, it can simply clog up, and secondly, during its installation, the integrity of the roof may be violated. Or, as it often happens, especially in old houses with existing sewerage systems, it is completely absent.

As soon as a vacuum is created in the pipe, the membrane is activated in the aerator and the hole opens. Through this hole, the missing air enters the system and the pressure stabilizes. After the water has left, and the sewer has filled with air and the pressure has equalized, the valve closes and odors are not able to get inside the room.

Installation of a sewer aerator

To properly install a sewer air valve, you must follow a few rules.

  1. The aerator must be located in a warm room, the temperature in which is not below zero;
  2. The place must be accessible for maintenance and replacement of the valve;
  3. The aerator is mounted in a socket of a pipe and to settle down strictly vertically.

On a note! The air valve is installed at least 10 cm above the maximum discharge point. If the system is equipped with a floor drain grate, the minimum installation height is 35 cm above the floor.

The device of modern sewer valves allows you to install them in almost any room: bathroom, toilet, kitchen, attic, etc. It is not necessary to call a specialist to install an aerator, you can do everything yourself.

Stages of work:

  • Shutdown of water, in order to avoid unauthorized discharge and the formation of a flood.
  • If the installation is carried out on a horizontal pipe, part of the pipe is dismantled. If the aerator is installed on the riser, nothing needs to be removed.
  • After that, the valve is assembled and installed according to the instructions included in the kit.

On a note! If the aerator is installed in a horizontal plane, then the pointer in the form of an arrow applied to the body coincided with the direction of the flow of sewage.

Choosing an aerator

When choosing this equipment, you should pay attention to such aspects as:

  1. device type;
  2. diameter;
  3. company is a manufacturer.

Types of aerators

Today, manufacturers offer a choice of three types:

  • kinetic - the task of this device is to prevent the accumulation of excess air in the pipeline;
  • automatic - serves to remove air under high pressure;
  • combined - combines the functions of the two previous valves.

For efficient and trouble-free operation, it is better to buy the latter option.

Valve diameter

The correct choice of the diameter of the vacuum sewer valve is the second most important factor to consider when choosing a device. Let's dwell on this in more detail.

Sewer aerator 50

Such a valve can handle only a small amount of water and is installed on the drain pipe from a bathtub, sink, etc. There are several rules for its installation:

  1. it can only be connected to a pipe with the smallest diameter;
  2. mounted after the last plumbing fixture;
  3. installed at the highest point of the pipeline.

Sewer aerator 110

These valves are able to handle large amounts of fluid and are connected to a riser or to the end of a downpipe. Produced with both internal and external mounting element. Advantages:

  • no need to bring the pipe through the ceiling and roof;
  • automatic pressure control;
  • affordable price and easy installation.

Manufacturer's choice and price

In order for the sewage system to work smoothly and not cause unnecessary trouble, it is better to choose an air valve from trusted and well-known manufacturers. The most popular and purchased aerators are manufactured by the following companies:

  1. Ostendorf - Germany;
  2. McAlpine - Scotland;
  3. Politek - Russia.

The table below shows the average prices for vacuum sewer valves from these manufacturers:

The prices indicated in the table are average for Moscow and the Moscow region. The exact cost can be found on the manufacturer's website.

When choosing a sewer aerator, carefully select the place of its installation and decide in advance on the required type and diameter of the device. If you install it yourself, follow the instructions and installation rules recommended by the valve manufacturer.

An air valve is needed to prevent the appearance of unpleasant sewer odors in the apartment due to the failure of the water seal when the pressure drops. We disassemble the valve device and installation rules.

One of the outstanding benefits of civilization is the sewer system. However, sometimes she brings unpleasant surprises. Squishing sounds from the sewer pipe and an unpleasant smell spreading through the house can pretty much spoil the mood. Installing an air valve will help to cope with these unpleasant effects. But in order for it to work effectively, you need to choose the right model and perform installation. Let's find out how this equipment is arranged, and whether it is possible to do the installation yourself.

Device and functions

A pressure correction valve (this device can also be called an aerator) is needed to equalize the pressure in the risers of the sewer system. After discharging several tens of liters of wastewater, the riser clearance is completely closed. As a result of the discharge, air is released. The reduced pressure draws water in the bend of the sink siphon into the pipe, and gases from the sewer exit into the dwelling.

The breakthrough of air from the fan pipe into the dwelling is fraught not only with bad odors. It can be dangerous, as pathogens and fungal spores can be present in sewer gases.

Of course, it is not difficult to restore the water seal. It is enough just to open the water, and the liquid accumulated in the knee will again cut off the sewer gases in the pipes. But the next big flush (such as flushing a toilet bowl or draining used water from a bathtub) will destroy the water seals again.

In the proposed video, the functioning of the sewerage system in general and water seals in particular are clearly considered:

To prevent pressure surges, fan pipes are created in high-rise buildings, the risers of which are led to the roof. The air is drawn into the fan pipe, the pressure equalizes and no longer sucks out the water seal. However, in some cases this solution may not be effective:

  • A clogged fan riser can make portions of incoming air insufficient for full pressure control.
  • In an individual house, it may not be economically feasible to build a fan pipe.

For such moments, an aerator was invented. Its membrane securely blocks the pipe in normal mode, preventing sewer gas from entering the room. But if the pressure drops, the unit sucks air from the room, and the pressure is restored. The restored pressure closes the aerator again.

Kinds

Shut-off valves are usually divided into three categories:

  • Kinetic or anti-vacuum valve. This device can only function with low pressure, equalizing its drops. Such a device is ideal to put it in pipes with a cross section of 50 mm.
  • Automatic designs. They are not suitable for the sewer networks of apartment buildings, because they do not master large masses of air in the system. With a sharp drop in pressure due to draining, it will not withstand. Such a device is useful only for small-sized sewer systems, for example, in small private houses.
  • The combined valve combines structural elements from devices from the first two groups. As a rule, such devices are built into risers with a circumference of 110 mm, but sometimes they are also used for 50 mm sections.

Design features, location method (on a riser or bench) and the diameter of the pipes on which it may be necessary to install the valve has led to the emergence of several varieties of aerator designs. The most common of these were:

  • Receiving aerators. They are embedded in front of the inlet pump of the system onto a sunbed. A mesh has been added to the valve circuit that filters water and cuts off solid specks. Knot diameter - 20 cm.
  • Ball aerators. They are designed for laying pipes of small cross section. The name reflects the design features: the locking element is a ball pressed by a spring.
  • Wafer valves are installed both in risers and in deck chairs. They are the most compact. The shutter is a plate, the diameter of the device is from 5 to 70 cm.
  • Check air valves. The locking tool in them is the spool. The disadvantage of large-diameter aerators with this design is the rapid wear of the spool by strong impacts. Therefore, it is advisable to choose models equipped with a damper.

Most air valves are one way. They ensure that air enters the pipe when pressure drops. But there are also combined action aerators that can not only increase pressure when falling, but also relieve excess pressure by releasing part of the gas from the pipe. Such devices are forbidden to be placed inside the house, they can only be installed on the roof, in a special block.

In terms of size, aerators are available in two versions, adapted for installation on a pipe with a diameter of 50 mm and a riser of 110 mm. Recently, devices of non-standard sizes have appeared: 100 mm and 75 mm.

If non-standard pipes are used in the sewer system, and it is not possible to find an aerator of the required diameter on sale, you can install it using an adapter.

Installation order

If we are talking about an apartment building, in it the aerator can only be an auxiliary element for the fan pipe. In an individual house, you can do without it, then the valve will take over the function of normalizing the pressure in the system in full.

There are several rules that you need to learn before starting work:

  • The device does not work at low temperatures. Therefore, in the room where the aerator is located, the temperature should not fall below 0C.
  • It is advisable to mount the unit so that it is easy to reach for repair or check its operation.
  • The installation height in rooms where there is a drain drain, the aerator must be installed at least 35 cm from the floor, in rooms without such a drain (for example, shower cabins), the pressure-correcting device is installed at least 10 cm from the uppermost outlet from the sewer riser.

If the aerator is installed too low, there is an increased risk that it will be contaminated by sewage and fail.

After installing the aerator, all joints must be carefully sealed to ensure tightness. Otherwise, the valve will not work effectively.

Necessary materials and tools

Installation in a plastic sewer usually does not require any special tools. The device has a standard bell with a sealing rubber at the end and is simply put on the sewer pipe. For additional reliability of the connection, you can coat the seam with plumbing sealant.

When installing the valve into the gap of a previously assembled section of plastic sewage, an additional part will be needed - a compensating pipe. For reliable fixation, you will need a clamp that will prevent the compensator from spontaneously moving upwards when backed up by water.

If there is no socket at the intended installation site, you will need to buy another sewer coupling.

Do-it-yourself installation of an air valve on a sewer. Step-by-step instruction

Here is the procedure for installing an aerator in an apartment with your own hands:

  1. Shut off the water supply to the water supply. It is forbidden to use sewerage during the entire period of work. Residents of an apartment building should also warn neighbors living up or down the riser.
  2. An incision is made on the selected section of the sewer pipe. A fragment of sufficient size is removed for mounting the aerator.
  3. The air valve is installed in the pipe and securely fixed in place. Alternatively, the valve can be mounted in a tee or branch, which is already placed in the pipe.

    If a horizontal section is chosen for mounting the air valve, it is important to mount the assembly on the correct side. The direction of the arrow on the body of the unit must match the direction of wastewater flow.

  4. We provide thorough sealing of all joints.
  5. We again supply water to the system, we fill all the siphons. We drain the tank in the toilet, check the operation of the valve.

A properly installed valve will reliably eliminate unpleasant odors and extraneous sounds from the sewer pipe.

Here are some tips from professional plumbers to keep in mind when installing:

  • When installing a check valve on plastic pipes in a pipe cut, all cut points must be carefully cleaned so that no burrs remain. In the future, the burrs left will certainly become a place for the accumulation of waste carried away by drains, and will lead to clogging of the valve.
  • To assemble flare joints without effort, it is worth chamfering at the inserted end.
  • Carefully read the instructions for the purchased device to make sure that there are no specific points in its installation order.
  • In terms of cost, Russian devices can be several times cheaper than their foreign counterparts, despite the fact that the quality does not differ significantly. But the choice is up to the consumer.

A properly installed air valve in the sewer system will improve its operation, avoid pressure surges and breakthrough of sewer gases into the apartment. In an apartment with a valve installed, there is no risk of unpleasant sewer odors even with a decrease in air flow through the central riser. Just do not forget that the aerator, like any other sewer device, requires periodic revision and maintenance.

The vent pipe of the sewer system is necessary for air intake into the area of rarefaction created when the liquid is drained. Through it, unpleasant odors are removed from the house. An air valve for sewage is capable of replacing a fan riser, which has many operational advantages. It is installed indoors, which eliminates icing, and the working mechanism for air suction only will prevent the release of unpleasant odors from the system.

The device, design and operation of the valve

The working mechanisms and appearance of different aerators have slight differences, but their general structure is the same.

The valve consists of:

  1. The case and the top removable cap are made of PVC material. The cover is firmly connected to the body and is necessary for servicing the working mechanism.
  2. There is a hole on the side. Through it, air is sucked into the sewer system.
  3. The working mechanism can be made by a stem with a valve or a membrane. Regardless of the design, it fires in one direction.

The main purpose of the aerator is to compensate for pressure inside the pipeline and prevent unpleasant odors from leaving the sewer into the room. When using household appliances that drain a lot of water during operation, the load on the sewer increases. The siphon and the fan riser are no longer enough, this is where the air valve comes to the rescue.

Until water is drained into the sewer pipe, the mechanism is in its initial state of rest. The pressed membrane or valve tightly closes the aerator, preventing the release of unpleasant odors from the system into the room. The movement of fluid through the pipes during draining changes the internal pressure, creating a vacuum. This causes the mechanism to work.

The valve opens slightly and clean air is sucked in through the side opening from the room into the system. The air pressure equalized inside the system with atmospheric pressure closes the valve, returning the mechanism to rest mode.

As you can see, the aerator works on the principle of a siphon, only the latter is not able to withstand strong air shocks, which leads to the failure of the water lock. Often this picture is observed during the drain of a full tank of water in the toilet bowl. A high pressure drop breaks the water seal of the siphon standing next to the washbasin.

If we talk about the operation of the air valve, then the difference in atmospheric pressure does not allow dirty air from the system to penetrate into the room through the open valve during its operation. According to the laws of physics, the movement of air masses from a low pressure zone to a high pressure zone is impossible.

Existing species

The principle of operation of all aerators is the same, but their internal structure, dimensions and appearance may differ.

size difference

Air valves are produced in different sizes. The most popular for home sewage are devices with a diameter of 110 mm and 50 mm.

The size of the aerator affects the place of its installation:

  1. A product with a diameter of 110 mm is installed on a sewer riser that exits the building into the attic. Alternatively, a 110 mm valve can be mounted on an additional riser inside the bathroom, provided that a second aerator with a diameter of 110 mm is installed in the attic.
  2. The valve with a diameter of 50 mm is able to serve one or two plumbing fixtures and is installed on the sewer pipe directly next to them. Installation of a 50 mm aerator is mandatory when the pipe changes from one diameter to another or when the length of the horizontal pipeline is long. In the latter case, the correct slope must be maintained, otherwise the operation of the aerator will be impossible.

The choice of the installation site also determines the type of product, if, more precisely, the functionality of its mechanism.

Difference by species

In addition to size, aerators come in different modifications. This must be taken into account not only when choosing a product, but also during installation.

Features of the operation of the valve mechanism, divides the product into the following types:

Aerators can work with horizontal and vertical pipelines, which must be taken into account when choosing a suitable model.

The difference in the design of the mechanism

Depending on the working mechanism, air intake products are divided into several types:

  1. The receiving type of the mechanism works on a horizontal pipeline. If there is pumping equipment, then a vacuum aerator is placed in front of the pump. Thanks to the built-in filter, solid fractions that harm the pipes are retained.
  2. Wafer design is classified as a primitive type. The valve is mounted between the two ends of a cut pipe with a diameter of 110 mm. Due to the flanges, the tightness of the connection is achieved.
  3. The ball mechanism is equipped with a valve designed for installation in horizontal pipelines with a diameter of 50 mm. This name of the mechanism came from the ball valve located inside the case.

Aerators equipped with a rotary or petal mechanism are not installed on sewer risers with a large pipe diameter. This is due to weak spools, which often break.

IMPORTANT! Regardless of the design and installation location, air dampers must not be installed at a slope or horizontally.

Installation features to be considered when installing the product

When choosing a place to install an aerator, it is necessary to take into account the year-round air temperature inside the room. It should always be positive. The end of the riser with a valve must rise 150 mm above the highest entry point of the pipe extending from any plumbing fixture. If there is a grate on the floor indoors, the product rises above it by 350 mm.

When choosing an installation site, it is necessary to provide free access. Over time, the mechanism will require revision or repair. It is important to pay attention to the air throughput designations indicated on the body and take care of the tight connection of the product with the pipe.

Self-installation of the valve

If you have to install an air valve for sewage in an apartment, you must turn off the water supply and warn your neighbors to avoid flooding the premises with sewage. In a private house, such problems, as a rule, do not arise.

The installation process is simple and does not require special skills. On the riser, the aerator is simply installed vertically in the pipe hole. For tightness, rubber seals are used. To make it easier for the product to move along the seals, they are lubricated with silicone.

On horizontal pipelines, the valve is placed at the highest point. Here, a tee may be needed for tie-in. Its side outlets are connected to the two edges of the cut pipe, and an aerator is vertically attached to the middle outlet. When mounting the product at the inlet of a horizontal pipeline near plumbing equipment, the valve is placed in the direction of the arrow on the body, indicating the direction of fluid movement.

An aerator is not a mandatory installation, but it brings great benefits. If you are not sure about the need to install the product, it is better to turn to specialists for advice.

When building a private house, it is very important to equip the drain system correctly and competently.

But, sometimes, even with impeccably done work, unpleasant odors can penetrate into the building.

This can happen for a reason if small volume siphons are used in plumbing fixtures.

If you do not use any device for some time, then unpleasant amber from the sewer riser will begin to penetrate into the house. Rising up the pipes, warm air becomes rarefied.

How to get rid of ombre penetration

In this article, we will consider in detail the issue of choosing and installing a vacuum valve on our own.

You can solve the problem by installing a fan pipe ().

In this case, the following rule must be observed:

  • section of fan hollow objects should not be less than the diameter of the sewer pipes.

Secure your living space from flooding with sewage and the spread of disgusting stench, it is possible by installing a fan valve (at what distance from the house to install a septic tank, indicated).

Under these circumstances, when the water dries up in the siphon, the air in all rooms of the house always remains clean and fresh.

As mentioned above, fan pipes do an excellent job with this task.

But in order to install them, you need to have certain knowledge and skills.

What is more important- the pipe must be led out only through the roof, and this violates its tightness.

In multi-storey buildings installation may be needed for those who live on the ground floor (look at the sewer riser diagram in an apartment building).

In this case, the mechanism will act as an additional device to protect the premises from flooding with sewage.

Choosing a vacuum valve, the following factors should be taken into account:

If you want the product to serve as long as possible, you do not need to save. A cheap product can cause bad odors in living quarters (read about Doctor Robik for a toilet bowl).

All valves available on our market, differ from each other in shape and color.

How to choose the right device?

Remember, it should fit perfectly with other fixtures in the room.

Installation of a sanitary accessory

The work should be carried out in several stages.

First of all, you need to decide on the place for mounting the device.

It is best to install the valve in the following places:

Remember to leave free access to the valve.
This is necessary for carrying out preventive work and forcing the mechanism to turn on.

Worth knowing!
The equipment needs periodic cleaning.

The next step.
It is necessary to check the product for tightness.

At home, this can be done in several ways:

  • unit needs to be filled with air and treat with soap.

    If there is a small crack or chip on the body of the device, then air bubbles will appear in this place.

    You can pump air into the mechanism using a bicycle pump;

  • do not want to smear the valve with soap, it can be placed in water.

    If it is not hermetic, then bubbles form on the surface of the liquid substance;

  • valve can be filled with water.

    If there are cracks on the body or the tightness of the joints is broken, the liquid will leak out.

Important information!

As a rule, the product is checked for tightness at the factory, immediately after production.

The final stage fixture installation.

After all the steps described above have been completed, installation work should begin.

Depending on the design features of the unit, installation can be carried out as follows:

  • via threaded connection.
    On a pre-prepared section of a hollow object and on the valve, it is necessary to cut the thread and treat it with a special sealant.

    This must be done to avoid leaks at the docking points;

  • into the bell.
    In this case, the use of a rubber cuff is provided, which will seal the joint and connect the device to the sewer pipe.

A simpler and more reliable installation is in the socket.

Step-by-step instruction

So, by installing a vacuum valve, you can avoid a lot of problems that are associated with a fan from the sewer system.

As usual, the device is installed in private residential buildings of small sizes, where it is not possible to equip a fan riser.

Consider the following professional advice:

  • all available wastewater receivers must be equipped with hydraulic gates (water consumption per 1 person per month is indicated).

If this rule is neglected, all unpleasant odors from the sewer can freely enter the living quarters, and this will cause a lot of inconvenience to everyone living in the house.

Be very careful when choosing an aerator. If you are overcome by doubts about the correctness of the choice, use the advice of a specialist or a sales assistant in a store.

It is better to buy this product in specialized outlets. So you will be less likely to buy low-quality products.
