The rose is a repeat blooming rose. The flowers are butter-yellow, double, cup-shaped, 17-25 petals per bud. Abundantly flowering variety. There are 3-5 flowers on the stem, with a slight aroma. The flower size is 7-8 cm. The height of the bush is 50-90 cm and the width is 60 cm. The bush is branched, erect, with light green, semi-glossy foliage. Disease resistant: powdery mildew, black spotting. Resistant to any weather. Excellent for growing in any climate. The variety is very resistant to frost and heat. Frost resistance zone (USDA) is the sixth zone.

Park rose (grandiflora) TEQUILA is part of the group of park (grandiflora) roses, which are distinguished by abundant and long-lasting flowering, like floribunda roses, and have the shape and size of a flower, like hybrid tea, but at the same time surpass both of them in winter hardiness and growth vigor . Vigorous bushes 1.5-2.0 meters. Park (grandiflora) roses, like all roses, are picky about where they grow. Roses need rich, well-drained soil, as roses have very deep root system. The location should be sunny, preferably protected from the winds. Rose plants are quite large, so it is not recommended to thicken the plantings. The rose is planted in May; before planting, it is recommended to store the seedling in a cold place, not allowing it to dry out, or immediately after purchase, plant it in a deep pot and transfer it to open ground in May. For the winter, roses require shelter, which must be well ventilated in winter to prevent the rose from damping out.

Seedlings are sold with a closed root system. The roots of the seedling are in the soil, which is wrapped in paper and packed in plastic bag. The package, in turn, is placed in a cardboard tube with a plastic bottom. The tube contains a photo of the rose, a description of the variety and a diagram of planting the seedling. When planting, the tube and plastic bag are removed from the root system; the paper should not be removed, as it protects the earthen ball from destruction and therefore reduces injury to the roots. The seedlings have a well-formed trunk, with a diameter at the grafting site of at least 0.5 cm, 2-3 main shoots and 2-3 main roots, at least 20 cm long. SMITH IDEAL and LAXA rootstocks are used for the seedlings. The shoots of the seedlings are filled with wax, which does not need to be removed; the wax protects the seedlings from drying out and is not an obstacle to the awakening of the buds. Careful and thoughtful packaging allows you to keep the seedlings in excellent condition until planting in the ground. It is important to prevent overdrying and excessive moisture of the seedling's earthen coma.

Floribunda rose Tequila is part of the floribunda group of roses, which consists of many varieties. Floribunda roses are characterized by abundant and long-lasting continuous flowering, resistance to cold and disease. Flowers are exquisite and decorative. These flowering plants fit perfectly into any landscape both in independent plantings, such as the Tequila grandiflora rose, and in flower arrays, borders (Tequila Sunrise), and hedges.

Description of the variety

Rose Tequila was bred in the 80s of the last century by Dutch breeders. The flowers are unusual in their ability to change color: blooming from bright orange buds, the double petals gradually lighten and change shades from apricot to almost white, sometimes with a greenish tint. The blossoming flowers of the Tequila Gold rose become golden in color. The flowers are cup-shaped, up to 8 cm in diameter, composed of 30 petals, the aroma is weakly expressed. During the period of active flowering, one inflorescence can contain up to 15 flowers. Flowering is long, from May to November.

Description of Rose Tequila

The bush is powerful, erect, with favorable conditions stretches up to 1.5 meters in height and reaches 90 centimeters in diameter, without thorns. The foliage is abundant, juicy light green in color, large, with a glossy surface.

Pay attention! Rose floribunda Tequila can withstand the summer heat and low temperatures, belongs to the 6th winter hardiness zone and can withstand frosts down to −23ºС. When the temperature drops to −7ºС, it requires shelter.

Landing

It is most favorable in April-June; in areas with a warm climate it is possible in September - the first half of October. The place chosen for planting Tequila roses should be ventilated, draft-free, illuminated most of the day and shaded during active sun periods. When planting in groups, it is important to maintain a density of no more than five plants per 1 sq.m.

The soil prepared for planting must have good air exchange, the ability to pass moisture, neutral or slightly acidic, and fertile. Planting in areas prone to flooding is not recommended. high level groundwater.

Planting roses

Plant care

Includes abundant watering, regular loosening of the soil for better air exchange, weed removal, disease prevention, fertilizing, pruning, and shelter for the winter. It is important to carry out sheltering in a timely manner, no earlier and no later than when the temperature drops below −7ºС. To do this, the bush, previously trimmed to 30-40 cm, is spudded and covered with spruce branches. A frame is built on top, which, in turn, is covered with insulation and greenhouse film. When covering, vents are left for air circulation in the spring.

Pruning is done many times. In spring and autumn, diseased, damaged and dead shoots are removed. During the flowering period, short, moderate or long pruning is carried out, depending on whether abundant flowering or shaping of the bush is required. For better survival and wintering in the first year of life, flower stalks are freed from buds as much as possible, leaving a maximum of 2 buds.

Pay attention! Floribunda rose Tequila is propagated by cuttings of strong young shoots. Only with this method will the plant retain everything best qualities varieties.

Varieties

Varieties of rose tequila:

Rose variety Tequila Sunrise

  • park (grandiflora) Tequila is characterized by vigorous bushes, up to 1.5 - 2 meters in height;
  • Tequila Gold rose(Tequila Gold) has double flowers of golden yellow color, arranged singly or in inflorescences of 2-10 pieces.

Rose Tequila is great for landscaping, always stands out among other flowers, and will be appropriate in any landscape.

The first of them is the rose “Polka” - luxurious apricot flowers with a very beautiful texture. The petals are split, so the flower looks lacy, as if it was specially cut out into scallops.

The rose shows the middle, but this does not spoil the flower, the flowers are very beautiful, large, 12 cm in volume, in fairly large brushes.

Rose "Polka" Menyan himself classifies it as a climbing plant, but in our conditions it is grown more often as shrap, since it does not grow tall.

There is such a rose in Sokolniki Park, there is a huge array of these flowers planted there, it looks incredibly beautiful and I recommend this rose to you first among the French Meyanovsky roses.

Rose Caesar (Cesar).

Another beautiful one climbing variety"Caesar" (Cesar). The flowers of this rose resemble ornamental cabbage. Very dense petals with a characteristic waxy texture, compressed as if made of corrugated paper and incredibly beautiful coloring. The whole flower plays, there may be pure apricot flowers, there may be crimson quite bright coatings on them, greenish shades.

Rose Caesar very beautiful in good years stands out abundant flowering. She is still thermophilic and needs the sunniest, warmest place in the country.

Very beautiful hybrid teas French varieties; roses from the "Romance" series Yves Piaget- also a rose with split petals of a very rich color lilac-pink color. Unfortunately, the rose is heat-loving; it is the first in the “Romance” series.

Very good "Alphonse Daudet", "André Linatard" By the way, the French rose "andre le notre" or (Andre le notre) Sports appeared a few years ago.

Meyyan has varieties of roses dedicated to Russia - these are from the “Romance” series: varieties "Tchaikovsky", "Anton Chekhov" (Anton Tchekhov), rose "Bolchoi" (Bolchoi)- dedicated to the Bolshoi Theater, "Jubile bu prince de Monaco" on the date of the 300th anniversary, the anniversary of St. Petersburg received a second name "Anniversary of St. Petersburg".

Rose Tequila.

Among the Meyyan landscape varieties I would like to highlight variety "Tequila" one of my favorite roses, she has a very beautiful flowers vibrant colors, bloom almost orange from bright orange buds, and then gradually lighten to apricot.

And sometimes they almost fade away green and in every brush there are flowers different shades thanks to which the rose shimmers and plays.

The rose is very hardy, feels great, grows and blooms simply luxuriously.

Rose "Phlox Mediland".

An interesting rose variety, Phlox Medilland, from a distance it can really be mistaken for Phlox, the flowers are very similar. One more episode French flowers This is "Romance". These roses - the Meiyans created, of course, in opposition to English roses Austin - these are flowers in old style, great aroma.

Roses of Meillan more similar to modern ones in growth pattern, this hybrid tea varieties, floribunda, glondiflora and several climbing plants. From the ancient ones they inherited only the shape of the flowers, but the new shape of the bush and growth pattern are completely modern.
