Obscene curses list. Many do not know about this, and in vain! Swear words (mats) are the names of evil forces

Let's see where this infectious thing came from. The mystical origins of such a phenomenon as a mat go back to the pagan past. To protect themselves from the attacks of the demonic world, people of the pre-Christian era contacted him.

Where did mats come from?

The spells that were addressed to pagan idols consisted of their names. And just at that time the cult of fertility was widespread. Thus, most of the mats are associated with the genitals of a man and a woman.

The Slavs were also familiar with obscene language. For example, the swear word of a girl of easy virtue "b ..." is found on Novgorod notes and birch bark letters of the 12th century. It just meant something completely different. The meaning of the word was the name of a demon with whom only sorcerers communicated. According to ancient beliefs, this demon punished sinners by sending them a disease, which is now called "womb rabies."

Another word, the verb "e ...", is of Slavic origin, and is translated as cursing.

The remaining swear words are the names of pagan gods, or demonic names. When a person swears, he calls demons on himself, his family, his family.

Thus, checkmate is an appeal to demons, only it consists of spells and names of certain demons. This shows the history of the mat.

In other words, mat is the language of communication with demons.

The impact of the mat on human health

Just here are 6 facts about the influence of mats:

1. The influence of the mat on DNA

Human words can be represented as electromagnetic vibrations that directly affect the properties and structure of DNA molecules responsible for heredity. If a person uses swear words every day, a “negative program” begins to be produced in DNA molecules and they change significantly. Scientists say: "dirty" word causes a mutagenic effect similar to radiation exposure.

Curse words negatively affect the genetic code of the swearer, are written in it, become a curse for the person himself and his heirs.

2. Swear words travel along different nerve endings than regular words.

There is a medical observation that people suffering from paralysis, in the complete absence of speech, speak exclusively in obscenities. Although at the same time he is not able to say either “Yes” or “No”. At first glance, the phenomenon, although very strange, says a lot. Why does a completely paralyzed person express exclusively obscenities? Does it have a different nature than ordinary words?

3. The effect of the mat on the water. Scientific experiment.

Germ technology has long been used in biology and agriculture.

Water is processed by some influence, and grains of wheat are processed by this water.

Three types of words were used:

  1. Prayer "Our Father"
  2. Mat household, which is used to connect speech
  3. The mat is aggressive, with a pronounced expression.

Through certain time the number of germinated grains and the length of the sprouts are checked.

On the second day

  1. The control batch sprouted 93% of the grains
  2. In a batch of grains treated with prayer - 96% of the grains. And the most great length sprouts, up to 1 cm.
  3. In a batch treated with household mat - 58% of grains
  4. The expressive mat influenced so that only 49% of the grains grew. The length of the sprouts is not uniform and mold has appeared.

Scientists believe that the appearance of mold is the result of a strong negative impact of the mat on the water.

More time later.

  1. Influence of household mat - only 40% of germinated grains remain
  2. The influence of the expressive mat - only 15% of germinated grains remained.

Seedlings dipped in water treated with a mat show that this environment is not suitable for them.

Man is 80% water. Draw your own conclusion, my friends.

Here is a video of this experiment.

4. Swear words very often come out of people from whom demons are cast out.

This is recognized by all confessions: from Orthodox to Protestants.

For example, Orthodox priest, Father Sergius writes: “The so-called mate is the language of communication with demonic forces. It is no coincidence that this phenomenon is called infernal vocabulary. Infernal means hellish, from the underworld. It is very easy to make sure that mate is a demonic phenomenon. go to russian Orthodox church during the report. And take a close look at the person who is reprimanded by prayer. He will moan, scream, struggle, growl, and the like. And the worst thing is that they swear very strongly ...

Thanks to science, it has been proven that not only the morality of a person suffers because of the mat, but also his health!

Ivan Belyavsky is one of the first scientists who put forward this theory. He believes that every mat is an energy charge that negatively affects human health.

It has already been proven that the mat came from the sacred names of the gods. The word "mat" means "strength". A destructive force that affects the DNA of a person and destroys him from the inside, especially women and children.

5. Swear words have a detrimental effect on women.

Abuse of the mat is detrimental to the hormonal background of a woman. Her voice becomes low, testosterone is in excess, fertility decreases, the disease hirsutism appears ...

6. The influence of swear words on a person in countries where there is no abuse against the reproductive organs.

Another very interesting fact. In countries where there is no swearing indicating the reproductive organ, cerebral palsy and Down syndromes have not been found. But in the CIS countries, these diseases exist. Unfortunately…

How to get rid of the influence of the mat?

You were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord.

We have already proven the origin of swear words. Considered scientific experiment. But the task of this series and the project "Word of Encouragement" is to encourage, to help overcome every vice that binds a person.

Here we will give a recipe for liberation from swear words, which is tested on personal experience. Just 5 easy steps.

Recognize

It is very important to recognize that swear words are a vice that has a destructive effect on a person. It is to recognize, not to resist.

repent

Warm repentance before God is very important.

He is the Lord, He knows everything. And He will help, but first, just repent that this dirty scolding came out of your mouth.

Accept yourself as a new creation

If you have prayed the prayer of repentance, then you have become a new creation, a child of Almighty God. And before that, every person is a sinner, a product of the devil.

Many in the world say "Why reject mats - it's normal!". It's okay if you're a sinful person. And if you repented before God, asked for forgiveness for your sins, you have already become a new creation.

And you need to take it

The Word of God says:

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, whoever is in Christ is a new creation; the old has passed, now everything is new.

Start thinking well of yourself, thinking of yourself as a beloved child of God, as the one for whom the Lord gave His Son.

Trust God. You have become different inside.

Eph.5:8 You were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord: walk as children of light,

Believe that words are capsules filled with power.

In fact, this entire series is about that. What we say is what we have.

But you, if you have already cursed, you need to accept it again. Your mats have produced one action in your life.

Now you need your words to bring good.

Col.4:6 Your word [let it be] always with grace

Eph 4:29 Let no rotten word come out of your mouth, but only good for edification in the faith, that it may bring grace to those who hear.

This means that every time you open your mouth, ask God for wisdom so that your words will bring grace and benefit to those who listen.

Consecrate your mouth, your tongue to God.

This is not just a decision: “since the New Year, I’m giving up swearing.”

It is a decision that your mouth belongs to the Lord, the Creator of heaven and earth. And you will only bless God and His creations with your lips.

Jas 3:9-10 With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who are made in the likeness of God. From the same mouth comes a blessing and a curse: it must not, my brethren, be like this.

If you dedicate your mouth to God, it won't be easy. But even when you stumble, remember that the word of God says "it must not be." God does not give impossible tasks. If it's written in His Word, then it's real. And that means that it is possible to live in such a way as not to utter curses and swear words against loved ones.

Word of Encouragement

I would like to end in a very good place.

Remember that for every word you will give an account. And if you say a lot of good things in the lives of loved ones, bless your wife / husband, children, parents, employees - God will bring these words to judgment. And from these words you will be justified. So says the Word of God

Matthew 12:36-37 I tell you that for every idle word that people speak, they will answer in the day of judgment: 37 for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.

Some people don't swear at all. Someone inserts abuse through the word. Most use strong words at least occasionally. What is a Russian mat and where did it come from?

The Russian mat has a rich history

Attention! The text contains profanity.

The notorious social opinion does not allow studying the good old mat. Most of the researchers who have chosen such a difficult path complain about this. Therefore, there is very little literature on the mat.

One of the mysteries of Russian profanity is the origin of the word “mat” itself. According to one hypothesis, initially "mat" means "voice". That is why phrases such as “shouting good obscenities” have come down to us. However, the generally accepted version reduces the word "mat" to "mother", therefore - "swear at mother", "send to hell" and so on.
Another problem with swearing is the impossibility of compiling an accurate list of swear words, because some native speakers mark certain words as obscene, others do not. So, for example, is the case with the word "gondon". However, typical swear words come from just four to seven roots.

It is known that different nations have a different "reserve" of the mat, which can be raised to different areas. Russian swearing, like the abuse of many other cultures, is tied to the sexual sphere. But this is not the case for all nations, because there are a number of cultures where everything related to sex is not tabooed in any way. For example, among the indigenous population of New Zealand - the Maori people. One of the tribes - the ancestor of the Maoritans - quite "officially" was called "ure faith", which means "hot penises", or "hot penis". AT European culture the sphere of the mat, by the way, is also not necessarily associated with sexual relations. If you look at the Germanic languages, it becomes clear that there many curses are associated with bowel movements.

The basis of Russian obscene vocabulary, as in many other languages, is the so-called "obscene triad": the male genital organ ("x.y"), the female genital organ (p..da), and the verb describing the process of copulation ("e ..t”). Interestingly, the Russian language is characterized by the complete absence of designations for these words of literary native Russian terms. They are replaced either by naked Latin and soulless medical equivalents, or by emotional ones - swear words.

In addition to the obscene triad, Russian swearing is also characterized by the word “bl.d” - the only one that does not mean genitals and copulation, but comes from the Slavic bleed, which translated into Russian means "fornication - delusion, error, sin." In Church Slavonic, the word "bliss" means "to lie, deceive, slander."

Also popular are "m..de" (male testicles), "man.a" (female genitalia) and "e.da" (male genitalia).

Aleksey Plutser-Sarno, a well-known researcher of Russian swearing, proposes to take the above seven lexemes as the basis for the concept of Russian swearing, citing, however, another 35 roots that survey participants considered as obscene (among them, by the way, such words as “eat” and “puke” ).

Despite the very limited number of roots, the Russian mat is characterized by just a gigantic number of derivative words. In addition to existing ones, new ones are constantly emerging. So, the researcher V. Raskin cites far from complete list derivatives from the word "e..t" (only verbs): you.bat, you.by.by, do.bat, do.bat, forget stop.. to.. to.. to.. to.. to.. to. to. to. to. time .. fight, s .. bat, s .. be, s .. bat, y .. bat, etc.

No one knows for sure where the Russian mat came from. The once popular hypothesis that we got it “from the Mongol-Tatar yoke” (“Tatar version”) was completely refuted with the discovery of Novgorod birch bark letters of the 12th-13th centuries. It was not possible to fall on the yoke. This is understandable, because foul language is one way or another typical, apparently, for all languages of the world.

But there are other versions. Two of them are the main ones. The first is that the Russian mat is associated with erotic pagan rites that played an important role in agricultural magic. The second - swear words in Russia once had different meaning, for example, double. But over time, one of the meanings was forced out, or they were merged together, turning the meaning of the word into a negative one.

Mat, swearing, obscene expressions are an ambiguous phenomenon. On the one hand, there are poorly educated and uncivilized people who cannot even connect two words without swearing, on the other hand, quite intelligent and well-mannered people sometimes swear too. Sometimes these words themselves fly out of our mouths. After all, there are situations when it is impossible to express your attitude to what is happening differently ...

So, let's figure out what this phenomenon is and where it came from.

Math is a kind of profanity in Russian and other languages. Mafia is condemned by society for the most part and is perceived negatively. And sometimes it can even be regarded as hooliganism. In addition, there are cases when the obscenity was used in the works of classical authors such as Pushkin (yes, it’s hard to believe, but it’s true), Mayakovsky and others.

If someone covers someone or something with an endless stream of swear words, moreover, doing it in their own intricate way, then this is called a “three-story mat”.

Origin

There is an opinion that the matershin was brought to our land by the Tatar-Mongol hordes. And that until this very moment in Russia they did not know swear words at all. Naturally, this is not so. Because a position in the spirit of “everything that is dirty has been brought to us from outside” is very convenient, and so characteristic of many of us.
Nomads have nothing to do with it, because. they were not in the habit of swearing. This fact was noted back in the 13th century by the Italian traveler Plano Carpini, who then visited Central Asia. He wrote that the Tatar-Mongols did not have swear words at all, and vice versa, Russian chronicle sources tell us that obscenities were widespread in Russia long before the Horde yoke.
Modern foul language is rooted in distant linguistic antiquity.

The most important swear word is the word x **, the very thing that can be found on the walls and fences of the whole world :)

If we take this cult word of three letters, then the word "dick" also corresponds to it. In Old Russian, “fuck” means to cross out a cross over a cross. And the word "dick" means "cross". We are accustomed to think that given word used to refer to the male sexual organ, along with the same three-letter swear word. The fact is that in Christian philosophical symbolism, the cross on which Jesus Christ was crucified is considered not as an instrument of shameful execution, but as a victory of life over death. Thus, the word "dick" was used in Russia to denote the word "cross". The letter "x" in Russian is denoted in the form of crossed lines, and this is not just so, because Christ, Christianity, temple, dick (cross). There is also an opinion, according to which, the phrase "Fuck you all on ***!" was invented by the defenders of Slavic paganism. They shouted it cursing the Christians who came to plant their faith. Initially, this expression meant a curse, paraphrasing it can be said that they meant "Go to the cross!", i.e. let them crucify you like your God." But in connection with the victory of Orthodoxy in Russia, the term "cross" ceased to have a negative meaning.

In Christianity, for example, foul language is considered a great sin, and the same is true in Islam. Russia adopted Christianity later than its Western neighbors. By this time, mat, along with pagan customs, was firmly rooted in Russian society. With the advent of Christianity in Russia, a struggle began with swear words. Orthodoxy has declared war on the mat. There were cases when in ancient Russia foul language was punished with whips. Swearing was a sign of a slave, a smerd. It was believed that a noble person, besides Orthodox, would never use foul language. A hundred years ago, a person who used bad language in public could be taken to the police station. And Soviet authority waged war with swindlers. According to Soviet law, foul language in a public place was to be punished with a fine. In fact, this measure of punishment was used very rarely. Along with vodka, mat at that time was already considered a certain attribute of valiant prowess. The militiamen, the military, the higher officials cursed. Top management has a "strong word" and is now in use. If the leader uses obscene expressions in a conversation with someone, this means special trust.

Only in an intelligent environment was swearing obscenities a sign of bad taste. But what about Pushkin, you say, and Ranevskaya? According to contemporaries, Pushkin did not use rude expressions in his life. However, in some of his "secret" works one can find obscene words. It was just shocking - a slap in the face of a refined society that rejected him. Ah, you are so polished - so here is my "muzhik" answer. Ranevskaya's mat was an integral part of her bohemian image - the image, as they say now. For that time it was original - internally very thin nature, externally behaves like a man - smokes smelly cigarettes, swears. Now, when the mat sounds at every step, such a trick will no longer work.

In general, linguists believe that the roots of swear words are in many Indo-European languages, but they only managed to truly develop on our land.

So, three main swear words denoting male and female genital organs and the sexual act itself as such. Why did these words, which just mean things inherent in all living beings, eventually become swear words? Apparently our ancestors gave very great importance childbearing function. The words that denoted the reproductive organs were given magical meaning. It was forbidden to pronounce them in vain, so as not to bring damage to people.

The first violators of this prohibition were sorcerers who were engaged in causing damage to people and doing other charming things. After, this taboo began to be violated by those who wanted to show that the law was not written for them. Gradually, obscenities began to be expressed just like that, from the fullness of feelings, for example. At the same time, all this developed, and the main words were overgrown with a mass of words derived from them.

There are three main linguistic versions of the introduction of swear words into the Russian language, based on studies conducted at different times by various historians and linguists:

1. Russian mat - legacy Tatar-Mongol yoke(one of the theories, which, as we have already found out, is untenable in itself);
2. Russian swear words once had two meanings, subsequently displacing one of the meanings or merging together and turning the meaning of the word into a negative one;
3. Mat was and is an integral part of the occult and pagan rites that exist in different languages in different nationalities.

There is no single point of view where the word mat itself came from. In some reference manuals, you can find a version that "mate" is a conversation. But why is the word "mate" so similar to the word mother?
There is a version related to the fact that the word "mat" came into the Russian language after the appearance of the expression "send to mother." In fact, this is one of the first expressions that became obscene. After the appearance of this particular phrase, many words that existed earlier in the language began to be classified as abusive and indecent.

In practice, until the 18th century, those words that we now classify as obscene and abusive were not at all such. Words that have become obscene, previously denoted either some physiological features (or parts) of the human body, or were generally ordinary words.
Relatively recently (only some thousand years ago), the swear words included a word meaning lung woman behavior, it comes from quite ordinary in ancient Russia the words "vomit", which means "spew abomination".

The verb "slut" in the Old Russian language had the meaning - "to idle talk, to deceive." In the Old Russian language there was also a verb fornication - "wander". Two meanings of this word are distinguished: 1) deviation from the direct path and 2) illegal, celibate cohabitation. There is a version that there was a kind of merger of two verbs (bloody and fornication).

In the Old Russian language there was a word "mudo", meaning "male testicle". The word was little used and did not have an obscene connotation. And then, apparently, it has come down to our times, turning from little used to common.

Addition to the article from Artyom Alenin:

The topic of swearing in Russia is a very fertile and popular topic. At the same time, a lot of untrue facts and rumors regarding the mat wander around the Internet. For example: “Scientists once set up an experiment. They cursed the water with a choice obscenity, after which they poured it over the seeds of wheat. As a result, of those grains that were watered with mat, only 48% sprouted, and the seeds watered with holy water sprouted by 93%. Naturally, this is all lies and fiction. You can't "charge" water with just one word. As they say, no one has yet repealed the laws of chemistry and physics. By the way, this myth was once perfectly dispelled in the MythBusters show.

Mat very often try to ban. Various laws are constantly coming out that restrict the use of obscenities in the media. But you don't have to do this! The reason lies in the following aspects.
First, checkmate is not necessarily an offensive word. Work for a week at a construction site and you will understand that a mat is great way communication. Especially swearing helps to communicate with citizens of the union republics, who, apart from swearing, do not understand anything else :)

In addition, without using a mat, you can insult a person and even bring him to murder or suicide. So it’s not the mat that should be banned, but insults and humiliation in the media.

Secondly, mat is a word that reflects a very deep feeling. Checkmate is associated with strong negative feelings like rage or anger. And therefore, it is impossible to prohibit swearing - for this you need to change your consciousness. Theoretically, if a child is fenced off from the mat from childhood, then he will not swear. However, he will still come up with words that will express anger.
The fact that a person with amnesia, even if he does not remember the language, can still use obscenities speaks about the sensual background of the mat.

Our legislators are smart people, and therefore there is no article punishing swearing. But there are logical articles about slander and insult. Moreover, these articles have recently been canceled, since the responsibility for them is too low (public apology). But then these articles were returned again. Apparently, the state realized that the absence of at least some kind of punishment would let people off the “chain”. This is especially true of swearing in the media.

Interestingly, in Europe and the United States, it is not the mat itself that is prohibited, but the insults (which is logical). At the same time, one should not think that English language no swear words. According to statistics, there are more swear words in English than in Russian. Mata is also very common in Dutch and French(with their famous "curva", which is now in Polish and other languages).

Thank you for your attention!

P.S. The fact that we talk so loyally about swearing does not mean that you need to swear on our site :) So write comments in the usual civilized style.

Psychologists believe that foul language is an excellent way to relieve stress and restore energy. Some historians consider the Russian mate to be the result of the destruction of taboos. In the meantime, experts are conducting professional disputes, among the people "they don't swear, they talk in it." Today we are talking about the origin of the Russian mat.

There is an opinion that in pre-Tatar Russia they did not know a “strong word”, and cursing, they compared each other with various domestic animals. However, linguists and philologists do not agree with this statement. Archaeologists claim that for the first time the Russian mat was mentioned in a birch-bark letter from the beginning of the 12th century. True, what exactly was written in that letter, archaeologists will not make public. Let's try to understand the intricacies of profanity, which is an integral part of the Russian language.

As a rule, speaking about the mat and its origin, linguists and philologists distinguish three main derivative words. These derivatives include the name of the male genital organ, the name of the female genital organ, and the name of what happens in a fortunate combination of circumstances between the male and female genital organ. Some linguists, in addition to the anatomical and physiological derivatives, add another social derivative, namely, the word that a woman of easy virtue is called. Of course, there are other obscene roots, but these four are the most productive and effective among the people.

Delight, surprise, consent and more

Perhaps the most frequently used word among profanity, the word that is most often written on fences throughout Russia, refers to the male sexual organ. Linguists have not agreed on a common opinion about where this word came from. Some experts attribute Old Slavic roots to the word, arguing that in ancient times it meant “hide” and sounded like “how to”. And the word "forge" in imperative mood sounded like "kui". Another theory attributes the word to Proto-Indo-European roots. In which the root "hu" meant "process".
Today it is extremely difficult to talk about the persuasiveness of each of the theories. What can be unequivocally stated is that the word is very ancient, no matter how people with diosincrasia of obscene vocabulary would like it. It is also worth noting that “this very word” of three letters is the most productive root that forms new words in Russian. This word can express doubt, surprise, indignation, delight, refusal, threat, consent, despondency, encouragement, etc., etc. Only in the Wikipedia article of the same name there are more than seven dozen idioms and words that are formed from this root.

Theft, fight and death

The word denoting the female genital organs is less productive in Russian obscene vocabulary than the word - the representative of the stronger sex. Nevertheless, this word gave the Russian language quite a lot of expressions that reflect the severity of Russian reality in the best possible way. So, words with the same root from this well-known word often mean: lie, mislead, beat, steal, talk incessantly. Set expressions, as a rule, denote a course of events that does not unfold according to plan, an educational process, a fight, a beating, failure, and even a breakdown or death.
The origin of this word, some especially fierce linguists attribute to Sanskrit. However, this theory does not withstand even the most humane criticism. The most convincing theory, the researchers consider the origin of the Proto-Indo-European languages. There, according to scientists, the words with the same root as the second most popular word in Russian mat meant “saddle”, “what they sit on”, “garden” and “nest”. It is also worth noting that this word can have both a strictly negative connotation and a positive one.

About sexual intercourse and not only about it

The word that today in obscene vocabulary means sexual intercourse comes from the Proto-Indo-European language (jebh-/oibh- or *ojebh) and in pure form means "to have sexual intercourse." In Russian, this word gave rise to great amount very popular idioms. One of the most popular is the phrase "f*ck your mother." Linguists claim that the ancient Slavs used this expression in the context of "Yes, I'm fit for your fathers!". Other expressions with this verb are known today, meaning to mislead, to express indifference, to make claims.

Mat devaluation

In fairness, it should be noted that many Russian writers were distinguished by the ability to insert a “strong word” into their speech. There was a mate even in some poems. Of course, this is not about fairy tales and not about love lyrics, but about friendly epigrams and satirical works. And it is worth noting that the great Pushkin owns swearing organically and skillfully:

Shut up, godfather; and you, like me, are sinful,
And you will break everyone with words;
In someone else's d ** de straw you see
And you don’t even see the logs!

(“From the All-Night Evening...”)

The trouble with the modern Russian language is that today, due to various circumstances, the mat is being devalued. It is used so widely that the expression of expressions and the very essence of the mat is lost. As a result, this impoverishes the Russian language and, oddly enough, the culture of speech. The words spoken by another famous poet, Vladimir Mayakovsky, are suitable for today's situation.

In 2013, on March 19, the State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted a bill banning obscene language in the media. Those from the media that still dare to use one or another "strong" word will have to pay a fine of about 200 thousand rubles. It is noteworthy that deputies from the United Russia faction became ardent supporters of this bill, who commented on their actions as a desire to protect the country's population from an immoral information environment. However, most Russians believe that the fight against obscenity is useless. Neither campaigning nor fines will help in this. The main thing is internal culture and upbringing.

Russian obscenity called a system of words that have a negative color (cursing, name-calling), which are not accepted by the norms of public morality. In other words, swearing is profanity. Where did the Russian mat come from?

Origin of the word "mat"

There is a version that the very word "mate" has the meaning of "voice". But a greater number of researchers are sure that "mat" comes from "mother" and is an abbreviated expression "swear", "send to mother".

The origin of the Russian mat

Where did the mat in Russian come from?

  • First, some of the swear words were borrowed from other languages (for example, Latin). There were versions that the mat also came to the Russian language from the Tatar (during the invasion of the Mongol-Tatars). But these assumptions have been refuted.
  • Secondly, most of the swear words and curses came from the Proto-Indo-European language, as well as Old Slavonic. Thus, the mat in the Russian language is still “one’s own”, from the ancestors.

There are also certain versions of the origin, where did the swear words come from in the Russian language. Here is some of them:

  • Earth related.
  • Associated with parents.
  • Associated with the sinking of the earth, earthquakes.

There is an opinion that many swear words were used by pagan Slavs in their rites and rituals to protect against evil forces. This point of view is quite viable. The pagans also used mat in wedding ceremonies, agricultural. But they did not have any great semantic load, especially swearing.

The lexical composition of Russian obscenities

The researchers noticed that the number curse words great. But, if you are more careful, you can see: the root of the words is often common, only the ending changes or prefixes and suffixes are added. Most of the words in Russian mate are connected in one way or another with the sexual sphere, the genitals. It is important that these words have no neutral analogues in the literature. More often they are simply replaced with words with the same meaning, but in Latin. The peculiarity of the Russian mat is its richness and diversity. This can be said about the Russian language as a whole.

Russian mat in a historical aspect

Since the adoption of Christianity in Russia, there have been decrees regulating the use of obscenities. This, of course, was an initiative on the part of the church. In general, in Christianity, swearing is a sin. But the swearing managed to so penetrate into all segments of the population that the measures taken were absolutely ineffective.

Letters of the twelfth century contain obscene words in the form of rhymes. Mat was used in various notes, ditties, letters. Of course, many words that have now become obscene, used to have a milder meaning. According to sources of the fifteenth century, then there was a large number of swear words that even called rivers and villages.

After a couple of centuries, swearing became very widespread. Swearing finally became "obscene" in the eighteenth century. This is due to the fact that during this period there was a separation literary language from colloquial. In the Soviet Union, the fight against swearing was very stubborn. This was expressed in penalties for foul language in public places. However, this has rarely been done in practice.

Today in Russia there is also a fight against swearing, especially on television and in the media.
