A 3rd category painter is guided in his work activities by: - regulations, as well as instructions and methodological recommendations regulating activities in the field of painting work; - the charter of the enterprise; - internal labor regulations; - orders and instructions from the immediate supervisor; - this job description. 1.5. A 3rd category painter must know: - the principle of operation and methods for adjusting mechanisms and devices used in painting work; - arrangement of electrostatic field installations and electrostatic paint sprayers, rules for their regulation according to the readings of instrumentation; - rules for the protection of sheet material and rolled profiles for ship structures; methods of painting and varnishing products made from various materials and the process of preparing products for finishing; - the process of cutting surfaces into a simple pattern of various types of wood, marble and stone; - properties of decorative and insulating varnishes and enamels and recipes for their preparation; methods of composing paints of various colors and tones; - chemical composition of paints and rules for selecting colors; - technical specifications for finishing and drying of products; - surface painting various colors with varnishing, polishing, ornamental, artistic multi-color and decorative finishing; - rules and regulations of labor protection, safety and fire protection. 1.6. Functions 2.1. A painter of the 3rd category is assigned the following functions: - painting surfaces that require high-quality finishing, after applying putties and primer layers with paints and varnishes in several tones, sanding, priming, drying and polishing them with hand tools; - cutting surfaces into a simple pattern of various types of wood, marble and stone; - applying drawings and inscriptions using stencils in two or three tones; - applying numbers and letters without stencils; - painting of parts and surfaces using electrostatic installations and electrostatic paint sprayers; - surface finishing by spraying; - surface treatment with corrosion inhibitors; - regulation of air and paint supply to sprayers; - coating of products with bitumen-based varnishes and nitro varnishes; - cleaning of closed volumes (cylinders, compartments); - painting and cleaning (grinding) of ships at the docks; - inter-operational protection with phosphating primers of sheet material and rolled profiles for ship structures, except for tanks of drinking, distilled and feed water, medical and industrial fat; - application of paint and varnish coatings at the location of the variable waterline of ships, the finishing of which does not have high requirements; - production of simple stencils; - preparing mixtures of oil paints and varnishes, nitro paints, nitro varnishes and synthetic enamels; - selection of colors according to given samples; - adjustment of mechanisms and devices used in painting work. 3. Job responsibilities 3.1. To perform the functions assigned to him, a 3rd category painter is required to perform the following types of work: - cleaning, smoothing, etching of ceilings; - simple painting of walls, floors and other surfaces; - applying a primer layer, puttying, sanding, primary and repainting of bodies passenger cars, except for ZIL and Chaika types, and buses; - final painting of trucks; - painting of barges; - grinding after puttying and painting of cast and welded parts for electric machines and apparatus; - varnishing the inner surface of containers; - coloring of film and photographic cassettes; - painting of frames of welded large-block stations and control panels; - grinding and enamel painting of housings, tables and disks of adjustment and testing stands; - painting of ship hulls inside and outside; - painting of cranes, bridges, power line supports; - painting the bodies of freight cars, tank boilers and steam locomotives, universal containers; - painting of machines, machines, devices, instruments and other equipment; - applying mastics to decks; - painting and finishing of metal and wooden panels for radio devices; - painting and varnishing of frames, doors, transoms; - painting and polishing of counting, sewing and writing machines; - cutting to a simple pattern of various breeds wood pillars, shields; - grinding, applying a revealing layer with a brush, spray or roller on walls, shelves, furniture outside and inside, ceilings and roofs of locomotives and all-metal cars, cars with machine cooling and isothermal cars with a metal body; - painting of reinforced concrete vessels; - grinding over solid putty, applying the second and third layers of enamel with a brush and paint sprayer on trolleybuses and subway cars; - painting of pipes and metal fittings of locomotives and cars; - painting of ventilation pipes; - varnishing and polishing of electrical equipment cases; - painting of anchor chains; - final painting of electric motors, electric machines, turbogenerators. 4. Rights 4.1. A 3rd category painter has the right to: - all social guarantees provided for by law; - demand from company management providing assistance in the implementation of their job responsibilities and exercise of rights; - demand the creation of conditions for the performance of official duties, including the provision necessary equipment, inventory; - get acquainted with the draft decisions of the enterprise management concerning its activities; - submit proposals for improvement of the organization and methods of work performed by the enterprise management for consideration; - request personally or on behalf of the immediate supervisor the documents necessary to perform their official duties; - improve your professional qualifications. 5. Responsibility 5.1. A 3rd category painter is responsible: - for failure to perform or improper performance of his job duties provided for in this job description - within the limits determined by the current labor legislation of the Russian Federation; - for causing material damage - within the limits determined by the current labor and civil legislation of the Russian Federation; - for offenses committed in the course of carrying out their activities, - within the limits determined by the current administrative, criminal, and civil legislation of the Russian Federation.
