Where to start changing your life. Effective instructions: how to irrevocably change your life for the better

Many of us, faced with life's difficulties and problems, think about the question of how to change our lives by starting over. However, it is one thing to want to do it, and quite another to carry out your plan. In this article we will consider the most simple ways such changes.

Why do you want to start all over again?

The destiny of a person is full of joys, bright events, and adversities, difficulties. It happens that a person gets used to dealing with difficulties and does it successfully. However, situations often arise when people are simply unable to cope with the traumatic situation in which they find themselves. And then they begin to think about how to change their lives. This is a difficult question, but only the person who asked it can answer it. What to do in a situation of life crossroads?

If you find yourself in a state of impasse in life, it is important to understand what was the main reason for the situation in which you found yourself. The reasons can be very diverse: from external to internal. It could be troubles at work that are related to what you crave. career growth, but for years you have been marking time in one position, low paid and not prestigious. You want variety in your work, but are forced to spend 8 hours a day in a stuffy office with boring and petty people, doing something you don’t like.

These could be family troubles related to the fact that you have lost both affection and respect for your marriage partner. You are trying to rebuild yourself and save your family for the sake of the children, for the sake of your shared past, but you understand that you cannot do this. From here comes a feeling of melancholy and dissatisfaction with one’s fate.

Thus, you cannot simply find a solution to change your life without understanding these underlying mental problems. Without careful attention to the world of your own conscious and unconscious, nothing will work here.

Your current present may not be joyful, but that doesn't mean it will always be that way. Life is generally an extremely changeable thing, so your joy today can become your grief tomorrow, and vice versa. How to change your life? This is a question whose answer should be sought in the depths of your heart.

In order not to indulge in feelings of melancholy, you need to look for something good in today. You don’t want to change everything; you have to leave something behind. Tender sun, friends, loving relatives. Look for what is meaningful to you in the present and appreciate that gift.

Tip three. If you decide to change something, think carefully and seriously about your steps

If you nevertheless decide that your life is now impossible without changes, think rationally about all your actions. After all, the question of how to change your life for the better is very important.

Decide what you have to do to make your dream come true: change jobs, or maybe get professional retraining, break family ties or create a new family, etc. There are people who find a way out of the crisis by taking a baby from an orphanage to raise, and there are those who go on a long business trip abroad.

However, remember that you may not be able to find a solution to change your life on the first try. This requires long and difficult work on yourself and on the circumstances of your life path.

It is very difficult to change something in the established order of your existence, so you must, with due diligence, calculate the consequences that life will lead to after you make a certain decision. After all, it’s not enough to just say to yourself: “Let’s change life for the better.” It is important to understand what needs to be changed, how and what will happen when you accomplish what you have in mind.

For example, a 33-year-old woman who is married to a person she doesn’t love understands that she is tired of family life. Even though she has a child preschool age, she decides to end her marriage because its continued preservation seems absurd to her. However, after a painful divorce and division of property, as well as determining the child’s place of residence with her, this woman falls into an even deeper depression. She understands that her desire to become a mother again is no longer feasible, ex-spouse now it seems less boring, and living alone without a partner seems simply unbearable.

Therefore, before making fateful actions in life, you should understand that the phrase “changing life for the better” must actually come true, that is, you must really improve, and not worsen, your life situation.

Tip five. Or maybe all this is just an age crisis?

It happens that a person falls into the deepest depression, he feels unnecessary, tired, and has lost the meaning of his existence. The picture as a whole is completely bleak. A person decides that something is wrong in his life, he thinks about the question of how to change his life for the better, changes something radically, however, having gone through certain trials, he realizes that he has achieved nothing: melancholy in the soul remained as it was. And you can neither destroy it nor extinguish it, you can only live with it, and living is very painful. What to do in such a situation?

In such a situation, you need to think, maybe the human condition is a manifestation of an age crisis? Let's try to answer the question of what such crises are.

A little about midlife crisis

In this case, we are interested in a crisis called the midlife crisis. By the way, psychologists believe that this crisis manifests itself at any age of a person, for some it begins at 28 years old, and for others it manifests itself only after 40.

How does this crisis manifest itself? The fact is that a person on average 33-38 years old suddenly begins to understand that his life is in vain. Despite the fact that he started a family and reached certain career heights, this means nothing to him. He was never able to find his answer to the question of how to change his life in the order that he had hoped for in his youth.

And the man begins to rush about. He is looking for something new, something that would drown out his inner melancholy and give meaning to his existence. Often women at this age give birth to another child, who is treated differently than their previous children. Men at this age may leave their old family and decide on a new marriage. Some people leave their previous profession forever, some people may become addicted to alcohol or other means of calming the soul.

However, is a midlife crisis bad for everyone?

It cannot be said that this crisis has purely negative consequences. For some people, it becomes a kind of litmus test that shows that something is going wrong in life. Many people want to change their thoughts, change their lives, and the crisis of this age period helps them to do this. It indicates where the cause of the problems is, helps to establish that there are some flaws in a person’s destiny and correct them before it is too late. As the famous Soviet psychologist L. S. Vygodsky wrote, an age crisis is a reason to look at yourself in a new way. It is during the period of maturity, thanks to the onset of this state, that a person develops certain new formations in the psyche, which allow him to subsequently change something in his destiny.

Change your life: where to start?

This question is both simple and complex at the same time. As a rule, they are asked by people who are still at a crossroads: something needs to change, that’s clear. But how to change, how drastic should these changes be? These questions remain open. Let's try to answer them.

People who have changed their lives admit that the most difficult thing was the first step towards a new reality. For example, someone dreamed all their life of getting a higher education, but life circumstances did not allow this to be done in their youth and young adulthood. And now the man has reached the 40-year mark, he has a profession and a decent income, but in his soul he remains unsure of himself, believing that he is missing something. Having decided to go to higher education educational institution, such a future student is afraid of many things: how his relatives and friends will look at him, what it will be like for him in a student environment, etc. However, having turned the situation around and studied at least one semester at a university, such a person feels like a winner: he was able to change his thoughts , change my life, achieved what I dreamed of all my youth and youth.

Or another example. A thirty-five-year-old woman dreamed of a child all her life, was treated for infertility for many years, but did not achieve her goal. As a result, she began to experience prolonged and severe depression with suicidal thoughts. She met a man who wanted to connect his life destiny. The woman thought for a long time before getting married because she had lost hope of becoming a mother. But, having decided to take this step, six months later she found out that she was expecting a child. The joy of the birth of a baby overshadowed all her sorrows, she found the meaning of life and realized that her desire, expressed in the phrase “I want to change my life,” had come true, she was able to move her destiny in a positive direction.

But how can you find the strength to make positive changes?

As a rule, it is very difficult to find the strength to make such positive changes. After all middle age– this is no longer the time of youth, when many of the problems seem insignificant. After turning thirty, it is difficult to change; you need to force yourself to believe that joy will definitely await you somewhere around the corner of your life.

Do you want to change your life for the better? Don't know where to start? Let's answer directly. You need to start with a holistic analysis of your entire life path. Having carried out such an analysis on our own or together with psychologists or with significant loved ones, we must make a fateful decision: what exactly needs to be changed?

And after all the thought, start your new path. Most likely, at the beginning of the journey it will be very difficult, new decisions will be difficult, but you should not give up. If the feeling of melancholy and the meaninglessness of life completely torment you, then it is important to simply try to live every day with a smile, enjoy the little things in life and, when you go to bed, thank God for giving you another day of life. Gradually, circumstances will help you accept the new reality.

And finally, let us give last tip on the topic: "Changing life for the better: where to start?" No matter what, cultivate optimism in life. Believe in your future, sincerely believe that the people around you need you, constantly look for things to do and care for yourself so as not to indulge in sad thoughts. Fight external circumstances, don’t give up, don’t lose faith in yourself and in the fact that a lucky star is leading you through life, and all trials only strengthen you and give you precious life experience.

And therefore, if you decide to yourself: “I want to change my life,” change it, move forward, and everything will be fine with you. You just have to believe it. Go for it!

Life can be changed! Happiness exists.

Surprisingly, with all the busyness of the day today, the frantic rhythm and bustle, we very rarely think about something important. Very often, all our thoughts are completely immersed in unimportant trifles and everyday problems, one day is similar to another, and years are replaced by the same monotonous years. Many understand the strangeness of such walking in circles but continue to live in the same spirit, in boredom and monotony. But to notice new opportunities, you just need to raise your head and look around.

To grow, you need to change. Once your life stops changing, your growth stops. If your life does not change, then it is unlikely that something new, suddenly happy will happen in it.

Unfortunately, happy people A little. There is one strange law: the more cheap pleasures, the less joy. So, alcohol does not make a person happy, but the main function computer games- kill personal time. But happiness exists, and happiness is enormous. A person can change anything in his life. He can move, choose any occupation, engage in creativity, live for the sake of some kind of business, he can start a family, have children, or remain free, he can choose any social circle, any hobby. And what is most important and surprising is that a person can change himself. He can get rid of what is bad for him and learn what makes him feel good.

Why, with so many opportunities, do some of us live like a plant, without much active action, just floating with the flow? The fact is that the gift of freedom that we have been given includes the opportunity to do nothing.

This choice is very simple, but at the same time quite stupid and unprofitable. Why choose the worst when you can achieve the best? Usually in response to such a question they answer something like - what can you do? That's the kind of person I am. Such is fate. That's what happened.

But you don't know what kind of person you really are. To know yourself, you need to try yourself different forms communication, with different people, V different types activities. We cannot fully recognize ourselves until the end of our lives, but what does a person who has tried five percent of what is available to him know about himself?

There are human properties that are difficult to change. For example, temperament. It is unlikely that you will suddenly become slow, gloomy and calm from a cheerful, unbalanced optimist. But what we call character can be changed, because it is simply a set of habits inherited from parents or acquired during life. By changing this set for the better, a person becomes happier. You also don't have to repeat your parents' lives, earn a lot of money, or try your best to succeed in a field that deeply disgusts you. Because in our life we are free. Free to change circumstances, change yourself, become happy. If a person’s soul is harmonious, he is happy with any material opportunities. If a person’s soul is sick, then he is unhappy, no matter how successful he is in the monetary sense. Therefore, in order to change your life, you need to start not with a career, not with making money, not with love affairs, but with yourself.

When we deal with ourselves, we deal mainly with our habits, both good and bad. But there is something in a person that stands above these habits and is capable of influencing them. It doesn’t matter what it’s called – spirit, consciousness or something else. From a practical point of view, the properties of this dominant part of our personality, reason and will, are important. Thanks to these qualities, we are able to analyze, make decisions and act.

What prevents us from changing our lives?

Let's look at the main obstacles to changing our lives:

- Lack of motives Two women of equal ability and character begin to learn to drive. One - because she needs to take the children to kindergarten in the morning, the second - for company. Who will learn faster? The answer is obvious. Connect the changes in your life with something very good and imagine that everything will come true.

- Parental influence Upbringing in childhood leaves an imprint on your entire life. If parents always indicated what to do and directed all events, a person then experiences anxiety and even fear of any independent actions for many years. He can plan changes, but implementing them is a huge stress for him. But there's nothing you can do about it, the first few years independent life you have to step over yourself, then this heavy hereditary inertia recedes.

- Chronic fatigue Work - home - work. A person lives as usual, and even a rare time of rest does not bring much joy. In this state, the desire for change is not supported by emotions. They simply don't have enough energy. Try making changes in your life in small doses. But every day!

- Internal protest You have planned everything, thought through everything, but there are always reasons to postpone plans. Perhaps deep down you feel that the upcoming changes will bring significant inconvenience, and therefore subconsciously slow them down. Deal with this situation. If you want change, then be fully aware of this.

- Breaking the laws of the universe Sounds a little strange, but it works. There are basic laws of the universe and violating them causes a response. There are several laws, breaking which a person goes a little differently than he would like. Read these laws, get acquainted with them, then no internal contradictions arise, everything is very logical and correct:

- Law of Free Will No one has the right to violate the will of another. Neither the children's parents, nor the parents' children, nor the students' teachers, nor colleagues, nor friends. You cannot force someone to do something against their will.

- Law of Love. You need to try to turn a negative into a positive on your own, at the same moment as soon as this negative appears. The black evil inside can only act against you.

- Law of Justice. This law says that we get exactly what we deserve, no more and no less. And this is always true, without exception. It is impossible to violate it, you can only take note of it.

- Law of Harmony. The universe always strives for balance. When a “distortion” occurs somewhere, the Universe immediately creates a situation to correct this distortion. Thus, you get what you deserve every time you go wrong, when you upset the balance with your way of thinking and behavior.

Slow down. To change your life, you need time to think and reflect. If you're always busy and don't have time to even think about changing your life, you won't have time to change it. Slow down and take time to look around and set your course.

Understand that everything can change. This is your life and no one can change it but you. If you yourself do not want to change, only a very strong shock will force you to do so. To find the willingness to change, you must clearly understand that you can always improve your life. If it's good, let it get even better. If it’s bad, let it just change for the better.

Understand that only you are responsible for your life. Do not blame others, your superiors, your country or fate for your failures. Whether your life goes up or down is up to you. All changes are quite accessible to you.

Figure out what your core values are. What is the most important thing in life? What is the main thing missing, what is wrong? Figure it out. You must know this absolutely for sure.

There is something basic, a basic need or problem that determines everything. Change is not easy, so your reason is your source of energy, a clear understanding of the root cause will give you strength. What's the main thing you're missing? What is the main thing you want to change?

Replace limiting beliefs. Limiting beliefs are the biggest obstacle to life change. You must identify them, and to do this, track your thoughts containing phrases: what can you do, that’s the kind of person I am... unlucky... such a fate... nothing can be done about it, and so on. These are all simple excuses that simply mean “I don’t want to.”

Replace bad habits with positive ones. It is advisable to identify your bad habits and figure out which ones are dragging you down. What habits would you like to break? Clearly understand this problem, it is one of the most basic. Ideally, it would be better to create new positive habits that will replace the bad ones. Change your minus to a plus, this is the most wonderful thing you can do.

Choose a role model. A lot of people started from scratch, without much knowledge or prospects. The whole world is now talking about them, everyone knows them, they are an example.

Set yourself up for lasting change. Changing your life takes time, especially if you want to radically change your life. Understanding that all this takes a long time, does not happen all at once and goes through periods of ups and downs, will give you resilience in difficult times. The hardest thing is to force yourself to start moving. After this, you will move quite easily, gradually improving and changing your life.

Try to think a lot. Identify issues that you want to think about and resolve in the near future. Formulate your desired results (what you want) as clearly as possible. Realize what is most important to you at this particular period of life? What might be (in general) bothering you or annoying you now? What exactly do you want or what brings you the most joy? Which results are most important to you?

Working on yourself is interesting. After all, improving oneself is not only a means of improving life, but in a sense, it is also a goal. A person who works on himself always works for himself, and not for “uncle.” He knows: every minute of work on himself is a hard coin in the treasury of his wealth. He is like a champion athlete who was lucky enough to compete at the highest rank competitions for the rest of his life. He needs to always be in shape, and he likes to be in shape. And this passion for victory, this anticipation and joy of victory fills his entire life with strength. In fact, such a person does not know old age, his soul is vigorous, slender and muscular.

So, it doesn’t take much to change your life. Contrary to popular belief, there is no need to make drastic changes to improve your quality of life. At the same time, you don't have to wait for a long time to get results. All you need to change your life is take a few small steps, and do them consistently. General principle like this: understand what is tormenting you; find out if you made any mistakes that could lead to this condition; repent of mistakes and try not to repeat them; develop in a direction that removes you from problems and mistakes.

Most of us decide to make changes in our lives when things can’t get any worse: the fear of the obvious becomes worse than the fear of the unknown. But all life is built on progress, which is possible only thanks to our actions. Action brings change. Don’t tell yourself: “Why change everything - this will do.” There is no need to waste energy and time - wait until life reaches a crisis or comes to a dead end. Not everyone knows how to compose and why it is needed. With the help of such a plan, you will be able to clearly set priorities, define goals and choose a path to achieve them. There's no need to rush. To understand what points you want to include, stay in all alone and think about what you really want.

Step 1: Needs

At this stage, your task is to understand what you want to change. Your further actions will depend on this. You need to understand what goals you will achieve. You should not set global goals; there is a risk that you will fall apart and return to your comfort zone again. It is better to engage in self-development gradually, moving from one task to another. If you like to sleep long hours, you can start by learning to get up early;

Step 2: Understanding

Before you start changing your character and habits, you should understand whether you need it and why. At this stage, it does not matter what you want to achieve, what is much more important is the presence of an irresistible desire, as well as willpower. If you realize that you are ready to leave your comfort zone forever and change, you can safely move on to the next stage;

Step 3: Know yourself

Once you have identified your goals, move on to self-analysis. At this stage, you need to understand what will help you in their implementation, and what is the opposite, what are the negative and positive trait you can highlight your character. Don't deceive yourself. Be as critical as possible. You can take a sheet of paper and write down all the qualities that you can highlight. To compare whether your opinion coincides with the opinion of your loved ones, you can give them a piece of paper with the result;

Step 4: Develop a Strategy

You have successfully completed three stages and are ready to change your character, as well as your quality of life. Now start drawing up an action plan. On at this stage Don't contact friends or family. You should evaluate own strength, this will help you understand what you are willing to do. If you are planning to say goodbye to smoking forever, consider whether you can do it suddenly or better gradually. To be safe, write down the action plan on paper and hang it in the most visible place;

Step 5: Actions

This is the final stage of the self-development plan. Now the most important thing is to start working on yourself right now, without putting it off until tomorrow. If you don't take action, everything preparatory stages will lose their meaning. Forget about excuses! Take the first step boldly without worry or worry. Along the way, you can record your results, small victories over yourself. Gradually, you will be able to adjust the plan and find a way to change yourself for the better.

Having the knowledge of how to create a self-development plan, you will achieve your goal faster and also be able to change your life.

In this matter, a lot depends on self-esteem. If a person is confident in his strengths and capabilities, he will quickly achieve his goal.

The connection between self-esteem and quality of life

It is important to understand that self-esteem is one of the main components of every person’s personality. People with high self-esteem achieve success faster, are not afraid of obstacles and cope with any difficulties.

People who are insecure prefer to act as spectators. They do not show initiative, do not express their opinions. As a result, they experience dissatisfaction with life and become depressed. Low self-esteem is formed even in early childhood. A child who is deprived of the support and love of his parents will not be able to objectively assess his capabilities.

A person’s self-esteem depends on 2 main factors:

● internal (attitude towards oneself, susceptibility to criticism, characteristics of character or appearance);
● external (attitude of others).

It's no secret that all problems stemming from childhood and the peculiarities of family upbringing can leave an indelible mark on a person's character. If a child does not feel comfortable at home, he withdraws from the company of his peers, which may make them want to mock him. Gradually, problems accumulate, and low self-esteem is formed.

Also big role plays appearance. If a person does not love his body or appearance, he will not be able to feel confident. However, this is not a reason to withdraw into yourself. To radically change the situation and understand how to change yourself for the better, you need to do a tremendous amount of work.

Fortunately, even in mature age a person can get rid of this problem and feel self-love. Self-esteem has a lot to do with immunity. The higher it is, the easier it is for a person to overcome life’s difficulties, accept criticism and achieve what he wants.

An insecure person is afraid to take rash steps and succumbs to public influence. To increase self-esteem, a person needs to love himself and believe in his strength.

How to increase a woman's self-esteem

A woman needs to love and value herself. Low self-esteem makes her shy and withdrawn. It's hard to find a woman like that common language and build good relationship. In addition, few people think about how she feels. Hardly huge amount complexes brings her pleasure.

There are many ways to help representatives of the fair half of humanity believe in themselves:

✓ forget about laziness forever. To achieve something, you need to work at it;
✓ try to minimize worries and worries. Enjoy every day. Learn to see beauty in small things;
✓ become less critical of yourself. If you are thinking about the need to improve your self-esteem, try not to criticize yourself too much. Take failures and minor troubles with humor and lightness;
✓ learn to be yourself. This is very important quality for every woman, regardless of age. There is no need to pretend to be something you are not;
✓ personal space. Think of a place where you can be completely alone, draw, read a book, or just think about good things. This will help you maintain emotional balance.

Features of male self-esteem

By nature, a man has no right to be weak and weak-willed. Otherwise, he will not be able to take a meaningful place in society and life. Men often ask themselves the question of how to change themselves for the better and achieve success.

To stay afloat, representatives of the stronger sex need to keep their body and mind in good shape. It's no secret that erudite sports men have no reason to engage in self-flagellation. They are successful and know what they want. Playing sports helps a man throw out negative emotions and gives him a feeling of calm.

Don't forget about self-respect and value your time. If you notice people in your circle of friends who prefer to assert themselves at your expense, refuse to communicate with them. You won't lose anything.

Are you not appreciated at work? Change your job. For the modern man This may seem like a careless decision, but the results will not be long in coming. When you find a job where your efforts are appreciated, your life will sparkle with new colors.

Don't forget that everyone is completely different, so don't constantly compare yourself to others. You need to focus only on your capabilities and desires. Strive for your goals, relying on your experience and strength.
Many men give too much great value the opinions of others. This position makes them withdrawn. To increase your self-esteem, learn to express your opinion and not be afraid that at this moment you will look funny or someone will not understand you.

To understand how to change yourself for the better, you need to understand what hinders your development, what character traits make you closed, and start working on your mistakes. Don't be afraid to make mistakes, admit your mistakes.

The main thing is not to give up!

Much depends on a person's appearance. However, this is not a reason to reproach yourself. Everyone can make an effort and become better. For example, change your hairstyle or hair color, enroll in gym and get your body in order. It is impossible to change yourself by sitting at home and feeling sorry for yourself. You should always strive for better, to become better.
Since working on ourselves is not easy work, a lot depends on our habits.

21 days to change: people and habits

A habit is an action that a person performs automatically. His physical, psychological and emotional state depends on this.

It is habits that are the basis of our character. There are two main types of habits: good and bad. It is worth noting that bad habits are produced much faster and do not require any effort. But to develop a useful habit, a person needs to overcome a number of physical as well as psychological barriers.

How to change yourself for the better with the help of healthy habits? Today many people talk about the 21 day rule. According to it, a person can produce within 21 days good habits. The question arises, is this or that?
It is worth saying right away that this figure was not taken out of thin air. Scientists had to conduct many experiments to come to the conclusion that just such a period is needed to form habits.

First of all, you need to learn how to bring things to an end. If you decide to change in 21 days, don't back down. Take a piece of paper, write down 10-15 habits that will help you become better. Choose the most interesting one and start implementing it. The main condition is that you must perform this action every day.

Forming a habit will require a lot of effort and patience. Therefore, think carefully about whether you need this or that habit. For example, you decide to read history books in the evenings, but after some time you noticed that this process does not bring you any pleasure. In this case, it is better to abandon this idea.

How to change yourself for the better: conclusions

It is important to understand that working on yourself is an incredibly difficult task that requires a lot of effort and time. But if the decision to change is final, do not deviate from the path. Remember, people attract what they think about. Be patient, take small steps closer to your dream, becoming better every day.
Do what you love, don't be afraid to experiment, enjoy life. After all, every day is special and unique.

If you have already decided that it’s time to add something to your life, but don’t yet know where to start, you can choose a few ideas from those proposed by my LJ friend, these are wonderful 25 ways to change your life for the better and become happy.

We often see people whose lives are riddled with suffering and full of pessimism. They complain about fate, family, work, society and the state. They don't see the light at the end of the tunnel and believe that someone else is to blame for their plight. Even I, a person who is far from having the most cheerful disposition, next to them seem to be an example of an energetic joker. So sometimes when they ask me what they need to do to change things, I think for a moment and give them some advice.

Without claiming great achievements in the field of personal growth, in today’s post I collected all such things that I have ever heard, applied or advised. All of them are tested for own experience, and I will be glad if this is useful to someone.

1. Find out what you really like. This is both the most important and the most difficult. There will be a separate big conversation about this, but the golden rule is: do what gives you true pleasure, and then you will become much happier. With the development of the Internet, everything has become even simpler - the results of your efforts are very easy to convey to the public, and they will definitely appreciate them. Moreover, having a job that really lights you up is a key factor in attracting the opposite sex. But you must be prepared for the fact that finding your way is a marathon that can last many (tens?) years. (more details)

2. Stop the junk you eat, drink and smoke every day. No secrets or tricky diets - just natural food, fruits, vegetables, water. You don’t have to become a vegetarian and give up drinking completely—all you need to do is limit sugar, flour, coffee, alcohol and all plastic food as much as possible.

3.Learn foreign languages. This will incredibly expand the depth of perception of the world and open up unprecedented prospects for learning, development and career growth. There are 60 million Russian-speaking Internet users. There are a billion English speakers. The center of progress is now on the other side of the border, including the language border. Knowledge of English is no longer just a whim of intellectuals, but a vital necessity.

4. Read books. The approximate circle is yours professional area, history, natural science, personal growth, sociology, psychology, biographies, qualitative fiction. If you don’t have time to read because you’re driving, listen to audiobooks. Golden rule- read/listen to at least one book a week. That's 50 books a year that will change your life.

5. Make the most of every weekend. Go to a museum, an exhibition, play sports, go out of town, skydive, visit relatives, go to a good movie. Expand your zone of contact with the world. When you’ve already traveled around everything, take your friends with you and tell them what you know. The main thing is don’t sit still. The more impressions you let through yourself, the more interesting life will be, and the better you will understand things and phenomena.

6. Start keeping a blog or a regular diary. It doesn't matter what it's about. It doesn’t matter that you don’t have eloquence and you will have no more than 10 readers. The main thing is that on its pages you can think and reason. And if you just write regularly about what you love, readers will definitely come.

7. Set goals. Record them on paper, in Word or blog. The main thing is that they are clear, understandable and measurable. If you set a goal, you can either achieve it or not. If you don’t put it in, then there are no options for achieving it at all.

8. Learn to touch-type on the keyboard - not being able to do this in the 21st century is the same as not being able to write with a pen in the 20th. Time is one of the few treasures you have, and you should be able to type almost as quickly as you can think. But you shouldn’t think about where you are required letter, but about what you write.

9. Ride the clock. Learn to manage your affairs so that they work almost without your participation. For starters, read Allen (Getting Things Done) or Gleb Arkhangelsky. Make decisions quickly, act immediately, don’t put it off “for later.” Either do everything or delegate it to someone else. Try to never let the ball stay on your side. Write down on a piece of paper all the “long-term” things that have not yet been done and are interfering with your life. Rethink whether you need them (keeping in mind point 1). Do what's left for a few days and you'll feel incredibly light.

10. Give up computer games, aimless sitting in social networks and stupid surfing on the Internet. Minimize communication on social networks (even to the point of optimization - leave only one account). Destroy the television antenna in the apartment. So as not to feel the urge to constantly check email, install an agent that will notify you about incoming messages (including mobile messages).

12. Learn to get up early. The paradox is that in the early hours you always get more done than in the evening. If on a summer weekend you leave Moscow at 7 am, then by 10 you will already be in Yaroslavl. If you leave at 10, you will be there at best case scenario by lunchtime. The same goes for weekend shopping. 7 hours of sleep is enough for a person, subject to high-quality physical activity and normal nutrition.

13. Try to surround yourself with decent, honest, open, smart and successful people. We are our environment from which we learn everything we know. Spend more time with people you respect and can learn from (especially your bosses). Accordingly, try to minimize communication with people who are negative, sad, pessimistic and angry. To grow taller, you must strive upward, and having people around you to whom you want to grow will in itself be a great incentive.

14. Use every moment of time and every person to learn something new. If life brings you together with a professional in any field, try to understand what is the essence of his work, what are his motivations and goals. Learn to ask the right questions - even a taxi driver can become an invaluable source of information.

15. Start traveling. It doesn’t matter that there is no money for Argentina and New Zealand - the quality of the holiday has nothing to do with the money spent, and my best trips were to regions that are not at all distinguished by pathos and high cost. When you see how diverse the world is, you will stop focusing on small space around you, and you will become more tolerant, calmer and wiser.

16. Buy a camera (maybe a simple one) and try to capture the beauty of the world. When you succeed, you will remember your travels not only by vague impressions, but also by beautiful photos that you brought with you. As an alternative, try drawing, singing, dancing, sculpting, designing. That is, do something that will make you look at the world with different eyes.

17. Play sports. You don’t have to go to a fitness club where jocks, pick-up artists, Balzac ladies and freaks hang out. Yoga, rock climbing, cycling, horizontal bar, parallel bars, football, running, plyometrics, swimming, functional training - best friends a person who wants to restore body tone and get a surge of endorphins. And forget about the elevator - if you have to walk less than 10 floors, use your legs. In just 3 months of methodical work on yourself, you can change your body almost beyond recognition.

18. Do unusual things. Go somewhere you've never been, go to work a different way, figure out a problem you know nothing about. Get out of your “comfort zone”, expand your knowledge and horizons. Rearrange the furniture at home (and do this about once a year), change your appearance, hairstyle, image.

19. Invest. Ideally, you should invest part of your income every month, because a rich person is not the one who earns a lot, but the one who invests a lot. Try to invest in assets, minimize liabilities and control expenses. If you set yourself a financial goal and put your personal money in order, you will be surprised at how easily you will move towards achieving it (more details)

20. Get rid of junk. Throw away any items you haven't worn or used in a while. last year (V next year you won’t be able to reach them either). Keep only what you really like and need. It's a shame to throw it away - give it away. When buying a new item, get rid of the old similar one so that the balance is maintained. Less stuff means less dust and headaches.

21. Give more than you take. Share knowledge, experience and ideas. A person who not only takes, but also shares, is incredibly attractive. Surely you can do something that others really want to learn. At one time, coaching became a discovery for me - I began to give trainings and lectures on a voluntary and free basis, which ultimately grew into a very big story which brings me great satisfaction.

22. Accept the world as it is. Give up value judgments, accept all phenomena as initially neutral. And even better - as unequivocally positive.

23. Forget about what happened in the past. It has nothing to do with your future. Take with you from there only experience, knowledge, good relationships and positive impressions.

24. Don't be afraid. There are no insurmountable obstacles, and all doubts live only in your head. You don't have to be a warrior, you just need to see the goal, avoid obstacles and know that you will achieve it without a single chance of failure.

25. The last one is the first one. Do what you like. Learn. Teach. Develop yourself. Change yourself from within.

This is by no means an exhaustive list. But even if you systematically do at least some of this, then in a year, when you look at yourself in the mirror, you won’t recognize yourself. And the world will simply have no choice but to follow your example and change in response.
