But they are not always attractive appearance. In our article you will learn how to decorate boxes with your own hands in simple ways.

The second life of a shoebox

When a lot of small things accumulate in an apartment, the question immediately arises about where to store them. You can easily solve the problem using an ordinary shoe box. Let's look at what can be placed in these boxes:

  • First of all, of course, cosmetics. Eye/eyebrow pencils, lipsticks, mascara, various creams, samples will fit perfectly.

It's easier to find in a box like this the right thing than in a regular cosmetic bag;

  • office supplies, if they need to be stored in the desk. Divide the drawer into sections, then pens and pencils will never get mixed up. It is also convenient to store brushes and paints;
  • For needlewomen, this will be a wonderful option for placing hooks, knitting needles, ribbons, leftover yarn, buttons, needles, and zippers. Everything will be at hand in perfect order;

  • small toys for children, such as kinder, small Lego sets, mosaics, puzzles;
  • documents for household appliances, digital technology.

The list can be extended to many more points; we have highlighted the most common options.

But I want it to be a beautiful, original box in which it’s nice to put your things. Choose your own decor for each box: use fabric, wrapping paper, leftover wallpaper, newspapers, magazines. We'll look at how to decorate a shoebox with fabric.

You will need fabric, glue, scissors. Let's get started:

  1. Lay out the fabric. Measure the length and width of the box, transfer the dimensions to the fabric. Or just circle it.

  1. Add the height of the box to the drawing, that is, extend each side by the resulting number of centimeters. At the same time, add a few centimeters to be able to secure the fabric to the inside of the object.
  2. Draw additional lines in the corners, as shown in the figure.

  1. Use scissors to carefully cut out the drawing.

  1. If the box is glossy, then you need to remove the top layer using sandpaper. After this, proceed to gluing the fabric to the base.

  1. Use the same principle to decorate the lid.
  2. The object is ready for decoration. Use ribbons, beads, flowers, lace, knitted elements.

In such a box you can not only store your things, but also give a gift in it. For example, a mug, a small vase, or a book will fit perfectly inside the box. And the recipient of the gift will be pleasantly intrigued.

Without further ado

Incredibly delicate-tasting round Raffaello sweets. Few would refuse the treasured box as a gift. But before you give candy, decorate the Raffaello box with flowers. This will no longer be just a banal package of sweets, but a small nice gift.

To work you will need:

  • corrugated paper;
  • glue, scissors, ruler;
  • foil;
  • artificial leaves, flowers;
  • beads;
  • ribbon.

Work progress:

  1. Take a piece of foil with approximate dimensions of 12*16 cm. Form it into a tight ball.
  2. Cut out a rectangle 11*3 cm from green paper. Twist it a couple of times, then fold it in half.
  3. Pull the resulting figure in different directions, thereby giving it the shape of a petal.
  4. Place a ball of foil into the petal and twist the petal into the bud. Secure the edges with glue.
  5. Cut out parts from red paper (3 pcs.) rectangular shape with a length of 3 cm and a width of 2 cm. With dimensions of 6 * 4 cm - 9 pieces.
  6. Trim the corners. Stretch the resulting ovals.
  7. Glue small ovals around the green bud.
  8. Make a couple of cuts on the large ovals and glue them together.
  9. Glue the petals to the bud so that the flower begins to resemble a poppy.
  10. Cut out leaves from green paper and glue them under the poppy.
  11. Make 9-11 of these flowers.
  12. Take large artificial leaves. Glue the flowers you made on top of them. Throw beads between the flowers.
  13. Add small artificial flowers, such as daisies.
  14. Wrap a box of chocolates with red ribbon. Place a flower arrangement on top.
