How to bypass Sputnik and Mayhem blocking for free? (and generally any blocking)

satellitenikipogrom

July 6, 2017 self-proclaimed authorities Russian Federation blocked our site throughout the Russian Federation.

The site was blocked at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office due to "the presence of materials of a nationalist nature" without any claims to specific texts. Please note that there was no trial, examination or anything else - according to the law on pre-trial blocking, any site can be blocked just like that, and only then the editors of the site must go to court and prove something to the self-proclaimed authorities. And while the court and the case, the site will still be in the block.

In this regard, we suggest that you use standard means blocking bypass. By setting one of these tools you will get access not only to Sputnik and Pogrom, but to all sites blocked by the authorities of the self-proclaimed Russian Federation. Below are instructions for desktops, smartphones, and tablets.

FOR REFERENCE: From a technical point of view, any of the tools below will allow you to open the sputnikipogrom.com website through a VPN - a "virtual private network" located outside the jurisdiction of the Russian Federation.

Your computer connects to the VPN and sends requests through it.

Russian providers only see that you have connected to some server in the USA or, for example, the Netherlands, and no one knows which sites you are viewing through this server (the owners of a foreign server may know about this - but since they are located in the USA or In the Netherlands, where S&P is not blocked and never will be blocked, they, unlike dear Russians, are not at all embarrassed by your desire to read Sputnik and Pogrom).

1. Opera browser

In this browser VPN settings preinstalled. Activating the connection is very simple.

. Download Opera browser from opera.com. Run the file and allow the installation.

. After installation: if you are using Windows - in the upper left corner, click on the red O icon, select "Settings". If you are using a Mac, select Opera - Preferences from the top menu.

. Go to the "Security" tab. Check the box next to "Enable VPN".

. In Chrome browser a friGate badge will appear in the upper right corner of the page, informing you that the site is now available without blocking.

. In Firefox: if the site is still unavailable, click on the friGate icon in the browser bar, select "Site not from the list" - "Add to the list".

. Everything!

3. Tor Browser

In addition to access to Sputnik and all blocked sites, this browser gives you access to the same legendary "dark web", where all the fun happens.

We advise you to use Tor only if the options above do not suit you for some reason (Tor is easy to use and looks like the Firefox browser, but is much slower than other block bypass tools).

. Make sure your connection is secure can be clicked on the bulb icon in front of the address bar.

For smartphones and tablets: Opera Free VPN app

For iOS and Android devices, there is absolutely free app Opera Free VPN.

This application is installed on your smartphone or tablet and runs in the background. You can continue to use your favorite browsers - the sites will be accessed through one of the servers of the Canadian company SurfEasy, Inc. (a subsidiary of the Norwegian Opera Software - neither Canadians nor Norwegians have a decree from the Russian authorities).

For installation:

. In AppStore (iOS) or Play Market (Android) search for Opera Free VPN.

. Install the app and give it all the requested permissions to install the "VPN profile".

. Launch the application and make sure VPN is enabled. Open sputnikipogrom.com in your favorite browser. Everything!

. You can change the region by clicking on the lightning icon ⚡️

Paid VPNs: for any device

Except free services there are also paid ones that provide much faster speeds - when you turn on a paid VPN, you will lose no more than 10% of your usual Internet speed.

Actually, our entire editorial staff has not been on the Internet without a paid VPN for many years.

Of the paid services that we use ourselves, we recommend PrivateInternetAccess (PIA) - for only $ 3 a month you get excellent speed and spit on all blocking-prohibitions with laughter.

Paid VPN works through a small program that is installed on your computer - or through an application on your smartphone or tablet (one paid account allows you to put PIA on 5 different devices).

When using a paid VPN, your Internet traffic will pass through a foreign server. Neither Russian providers nor PrivateInternetAccess itself will know which sites you visit (PIA does not keep logs of visits).

All installation instructions are on the PrivateInternetAccess website.

If something is not clear to you, write to them in support or to us at [email protected]. We will tell you what and how to install specifically on your system.

If you have any questions, please write an email to [email protected]— our experts will be happy to help you set up blocking bypass tools and answer all your questions.

And, of course, you can give a subscription to "Sputnik and Pogrom" to your friend, colleague or family member by issuing a gift

A gloating epitaph on the grave of "intellectual Russian nationalism"

News of the day: Roskomnadzor blocked Sputnik and Pogrom. The Prosecutor General's Office believes that this web resource "propagates the ideas of national and religious hatred", which, in turn, "forms threats to public security" and even "incites extremism."

The Roskomnadzor registry states that access to the Sputnik and Pogrom website has been limited since July 5. The fact of blocking "SiPa" is also confirmed by the editorial staff of the online publication. So, in the public “Sputnik and Pogrom” on the social network “Vkontakte”, it is reported that the creators of the resource have been waiting for the blocking of “SiP” since its opening in 2012. Admins of the "S&P" group report that the work of the editorial will continue at the new Internet address. In particular, they even try to joke that S&P, in order to avoid new claims, is planned to be renamed “Putin and Medvedev” or “The Prosecutor General’s Office, which stands for Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus and Russia).”

What can I say: Roskomnadzor, this is what we “especially hate” in Russia ©, however, in this particular case, I, an outspoken supporter of freedom of speech, information and the Internet without barriers and full legalization, just want to gloat. Because the story of "Sputnik a and Pogrom a" is, as they say, a 100% classical case of an incorrect miscalculation of the situation, resulting from incorrect positioning, loss of the audience. All together, in the end, and led to the death of an interesting, albeit controversial project. Suffice it to recall that "SiP", which declared itself as a printed organ of "intellectual Russian nationalism" - at the time of its appearance made a real sensation simply by the fact that people who are accustomed to the fact that mostly dull stories about the world Jewish community are published on nationalist resources conspiracy, the imminent collapse of the dollar, and in addition, from every page there is a groan about how Russian people are offended (abbreviated RLO), on Prosvirnin's resource they saw well-written texts, sometimes devoted to really pressing problems.

Prosvirnin in the company of Stanislav Belkovsky and Ksenia Sobchak

As a result, not only people who traditionally sympathize with Russian nationalists, such as Alexei Navalny, but also “status” liberals, such as Anton Nosik or Ksenia Sobchak, referred to the SiPa articles. However, the idyll did not last long: already in February 2014, Prosvirnin, who had offered his services to the Maidan a couple of months before, was rumored to have received a lucrative offer to work for the Putin administration, for a fee (six-figure sums are called in the portraits of the dead American presidents). Evil tongues claim that Yegor, who never held amounts of more than several hundred dollars in his hands, in whose rich lexicon it was difficult to find an unused swear word against Putin's Russia and his leadership, having received the first tranche, as they say, “floated” and began to praise wise policy of the "national leader". However, it makes no sense to describe the further "Novorossiysk" epic "SiPa": it's boring. How boring is the current Sputnik and Pogrom, which no one seems to read anymore. Just for the reason that today some will never forgive Prosvirnin the text about “that endless summer day”, in which he wrote that on June 22, 1941, “white Europe returned to Russia”, others praising Putin and the “annexation” of Crimea and the war in the Donbass, “jeans”, which he was ordered by structures close to the oligarch Malofeev. And the content part, objectively, has lost a lot in quality.

"NOD" sheep did not become friends with "S&P" sheep

So, the end of “SiPa” (there is no doubt that this is the end of the resource), as its authors once liked to say, is a bit predictable, Yegor, as usual in such cases, was used for its intended purpose, then removed from allowance and thrown out.

Well, son, did your Lyakhi cream help you?

Alexandra Melnik

I bought a monthly subscription to Sputnik and Pogrom. Last time did this a year ago: in just a couple of weeks you can read their best texts written in a year, after which you can unsubscribe with a clear conscience, paying 5 bucks for something that others pay 10 times more for.

What kind of "S&P" is this? This is an online paid media outlet that publishes news and materials with a focus on Russian nationalism. As you know, there are many nationalisms, including Russian ones, but S&P sticks to the line that I like the most: Russian empire as the ideal of the Russian state; non-recognition of the borders of 1991; democracy and conservative European values dominate public life; Russian is the one who considers himself Russian and whom others recognize as Russian, and Ukrainians and Belarusians are also Russians, only run wild. The question is, why do I refuse to financially support such a pleasant and useful project? Oh, there are many reasons for that. The main one is that the editor-in-chief of this resource is Yegor Prosvirnin, who, according to some sources, is a homosexual, a drug addict and an employee internal organs. Everything else follows from it. Here they are:

Firstly, I am not satisfied with the quality of the texts on the portal. A typical article on S&P is a smartly written student essay on a particular topic. The author, as a rule, diligently uses the literature available in Russian, and sometimes even uses the English-language Wikipedia. But, of course, this is pure modern journalism with a strong bias in agitprop: almost each of the materials is inherent in predeterminedness, loudness, superficiality and lack of serious analysis. And this is at best. Even with the help of such unbridled scribbling, it is not possible to fulfill the plan according to the articles. And not very clean yellow newspaper methods are used.

A project devoted to Russian nationalism should contain articles about Russian nationalism and a range of topics related to it - Russian history, philosophy, literature, etc. But sometimes S&P goes overboard and they publish materials on completely irrelevant topics. Well, why do we need inconsistent narratives of people without a specialized education about the conquest of Mexico by Cortes? Does it have anything to do with Russia or nationalism, or is the author revealing some previously unknown information to us? - no, in fact stupidly retells the textbook.

What do we expect from "S&P" articles, and what they actually turn out to be.

Or some semi-literate cretin like the pedophile Yegor Kholmogorov starts recommending a list of "must read" history books ancient Russia... Not only do such ignoramuses and half-educated people have no right to advise anything to anyone, but also we are talking about an era that has been mythologized and falsified a hundred times - perhaps there is more historical truth in Tolkien's books than in the writings of various Greek and Mavrodian ones. It has nothing to do with Russian self-consciousness.

Typical user comments on the article with "SiPa".

The SIPs constantly strive to make their task easier and instead of copyrighted and exclusive materials they print NUMBERS OF THE NEWSPAPER "KIEVLYANIN" FOR 1917! Who the hell came up with such a "smart" idea? The idea of publishing economic reports for a week with comments by local "experts" seems rather meaningless - in fact, this is the same propaganda as on the Kremlin or anti-Kremlin resources, however, with its own specific bias and is designed for people who want "correct" information. , but too lazy to mine it yourself. And the level of these "experts" is at best at the level of a stool, or even worse - a graduate of a modern economics department of a private university. All these "political friends", "kholmogorii" and other bastards with the IQ of a small Negro tribe, of course, only denigrate the ideas of Russian nationalism, actively helping the communist-liberal regime in compromising the only idea doomed to success in the historical perspective.

A typical article from "SiPa".

Well, and such a moment - of course, I am a great Russian patriot, but propaganda makes me cringe, even if it is pro-Russian propaganda. The constant lamentations that every second text is equipped with, all these “Let's stand up for the Russian woman, brothers!”, “A Russian can only talk to a scoop through a slot in the sight”, and other “We are Russians, God is with us” will get tired very quickly, and tons of childish pathos no longer accepted by the body. In general, of course, "S&P" is focused on infantile hipsters of 15-20 years old, who for some reason decided that they were nationalists. The average text from there is sprinkled with tons of topical memes, simplified to the level of slogans, devoid of any analytics and other "puzzles". There is nothing for an adult to do there.

An employee of the editorial board of "SiPa" sawing the salary issued by the Kremlin.

On the whole, of course, "Sputnik and Pogrom" is a huge garbage heap, in which worthy articles come across only on the theory of probability. That is why "SiP" is a financially untenable project and its final closure is only a matter of time. What I wish this stupid office from the bottom of my heart.
