Powerful DIY fan. How to make a fan with your own hands: the best homemade options. Disc fan

Hot. If I may say so, even too much. That is why you can think about how to make a fan. You will say that it can be purchased at the store. But, firstly, their cost increases significantly. Secondly, they are quickly sold out and it is not always possible to find what you need on store shelves. Therefore, several practical advice about how to assemble a fan. After all, it is quite possible to arrange it even at home from available materials. Here are a couple of options.

How to make a fan based on an old cooler. If you have an old one, you can take it from there. You can also borrow a switch there. In order to make a homemade fan, you will also need some kind of battery holder. There are many of these, you can take it from some broken toy or something else in the same spirit. Of course, you will also need several batteries themselves. All that remains is to connect all these components together, and a simple fan will be ready. If you don’t want to bother with the holder, you can use a regular USB port to supply power. The stand can be made from anything. It all depends specifically on your own imagination and what you have at hand.

You can, for example, make a stand from ordinary rigid wire attached to something. It is not so important what materials will be used, but how stable the entire structure will be.

Another option on how to make a fan may be useful for enthusiasts. Computer disks are an excellent tool for making. What else is needed? A motor from a simple toy, a cork left over from champagne, some kind of handy switch and several batteries. We take the disk, and then make as many cuts as we need for the blades. It is necessary to leave about a centimeter to the inner edge. Then turn each blade slightly at an angle. It bends much better if the disk is heated, for example, over gas. Then you will need to insert a champagne cork into its center. If you make a small puncture in its center, for example, with an awl, you can easily attach the entire structure to some kind of pin. You will need to make a leg - absolutely any cylinder-shaped object that can accommodate batteries and wires can play its role.

You will also need to design a base for the entire unit - it can also be anything, the main thing is that it is stable and can support the structure. All that remains is to add a few additional tips- when cutting out the blades, you need to make sure that each of them is approximately 45 degrees - you will end up with about 8 pieces. The plug inserted into the center of the disk will need to be secured with glue. In any case, the process should not cause you any difficulties.

If you've been thinking about how to make a fan, you now probably understand that it's very simple. Each of the proposed models is extremely easy to manufacture, and you will not need much time to create it. You don’t need any special things, the above is quite enough. These fans are very convenient and compact. You can put it on your desktop. Or, if there is such a desire, take it with you to the garage or country house, where these devices will serve as cooling means. It’s hard to argue with the fact that they have tangible dignity - after all, these, by and large, very useful things are collected from various rubbish.

As you can see, it is quite possible to make a fan yourself, from scrap materials, without bothering with going to the store and looking for a unit that suits you at an affordable price. Everything is much simpler.

Let's look at how to make a fan with your own hands using the example of a bladeless device from PVC pipes, a plastic container and a sheet of fiberglass.

The best thing about this bladeless fan is that, unlike most homemade devices, the project does not require the use of 3D printing, and the final cost can be even less than $10.

Tools and materials for making a bladeless fan

The tools needed for this project are very easy to assemble and are all pictured above. The main thing for this project is a set of PVC pipes with a diameter of 6.5 and 3.5 inches, plastic container or 3mm thick fiberglass bowl and sheet.

There is no need for a 3D printer as is used in most DIY fan projects. Moreover, we used miter saw, to make most of the cuts as it made the job more precise and easier than a handsaw.

Despite the name of the device, which indicates that the design will be without blades, the fan actually has a fairly high-speed blade inside the main body. You can see the operating principle of the device in the figure above.

In addition, a bladeless fan provides closed blade control and then airflow is directed through a closed duct body, replicating the structure of a conventional bladeless fan housing. This design offers an excellent level of protection for children.

How to make a fan with your own hands - main body

First you need to make the main body and for this you can use a PVC pipe. The main outlet is made of 6" diameter PVC pipe, which is 4" wide to form the outer air outlet casing.

To form the air pocket inside the main air outlet, we use a conical shaped bowl that fits perfectly over the 6″ PVC pipe and its collar sits on the edges of the pipe (see photo above). Cut the bowl 1" above the bottom so it forms a nice conical collar inside the main outlet casing that allows the air to rotate evenly inside the outlet cavity before leaving it.

Inner casing and base

The internal air outlet clamp is made of PVC pipes 5 inches in diameter. This pipe creates a narrow opening that is almost 0.5 inches wide to distribute air evenly from the cavity/air outlet. Three parts, namely an outer 6-inch PVC pipe, a conical inner casing made of a plastic bowl, and an inner clamp made of 5-inch PVC pipe, together form the air release casing.

To form the base, use 3.5" PVC pipe cut to 5" high. To ensure that the base fits perfectly into the air outlet body, we cut one end of the base pipe in a curved shape (we cut the bend using pre-applied electrical tape), and mark the outline with 6-inch PVC pipe. The pipe is then cut using a jigsaw and then sanded sandpaper to fit the outer 6" pipe perfectly without any gaps between them.

  • Scheme

Air intake hole

Before gluing the base to the main body, we drill a 3-inch diameter hole in the 6-inch PVC pipe, which will be the passage for air to enter the main body and then into the outlet hole. The hole is made using a hole saw.

The base is then glued to the outside of the air outlet using super glue. Since the base pipe is perfectly shaped to sit on top of the 6-inch PVC pipe, the superglue makes a very strong connection between the two pieces.

Air outlet ring

The air outlet ring is made of 3mm thick fiberglass sheet, which serves as a connection between the inner half and the outer half of the main air outlet. The ring was made using a jigsaw.

Painting

Since most parts of the body bladeless fan ready, you need to paint them so that they look neat and perfect. We paint everything white using spray paint, except for the fiberglass ring, which is protected from the paint with duct tape.

The end result is very nice and the blue fiberglass sheet looks fantastic against the pristine white background.

LED strip

To make the design more attractive and elegant, add a 12V LED strip to inside air outlet at the end where the fiberglass sheet will be glued to the inner air outlet sleeve. The light strip is cut to the required length. The tape has a sticky side and adheres when removed protective coating from the back of the tape and then sticks to the PVC body.
  • Instructions for creating from a webcam
When the fan turns on, led strip illuminates the rear of the air outlet and thus produces a very cool visual effect, spreading blue light.

Gluing all the parts

Once the paint is dry, we glue all the pieces together to form the main part of our bladeless fan, using superglue to hold everything tightly.

Do-it-yourself fan installation in the case

Behind each bladeless fan is a fan with blades. So to drive our fan, we need to use a 12V high speed fan DC, which can be taken from an old computer. More specifically, the tutorial is about a fan from a server, which is much more powerful than a regular PC fan. Therefore, we highly recommend using this type of fan.

The fan is mounted inside the base directly below the air outlet housing using four wood screws to hold the fan securely in place. The fan is installed in such a way that it pushes air upward and thus we need the fan to be quite stable.

How to make an air intake in a fan with your own hands?

A pair of air intakes are located just below the server fan on both sides of the base pipe, that is, the base pipe. These intake holes allow air to be drawn into the base.

To prevent someone from accidentally injuring their fingers by inserting them into the base of the fan, we glue metal mesh on both holes. The mesh is first painted black matte color and then glued inside the base using hot glue.

Speed control unit - fan speed controller

We decided to use the idea of a PWM speed controller for this fan to regulate the amount of air coming out of the fan and therefore the noise level. For this purpose it was developed simple circuit PWM speed controller, as well as dedicated PCB using AutoCAD Eagle.

The scheme works according to the basic principle. It uses a 555 timer IC which switches the transistor several times every second and the switching speed depends on the resistance provided by the potentiometer. Thus, by turning the knob we can adjust the output pulse and thus control the fan speed from the server.

The archive below contains all the files, including schematics, sheet of materials and Gerber files for the PWM circuit that you may need.

From time to time the need for a kind of fan arises, but small models are relatively expensive. Don’t rush to shell out money, because you can easily make a small fan with my own hands. In terms of efficiency, it is not inferior to purchased analogues, and its creation will require minimum quantity materials.

Making a fan from a cooler

The simplest way to make a fan yourself is to use an unnecessary cooler (these are used in computers as a cooling system for components).

It is not surprising that this method is the simplest, because a cooler is a small fan. All that remains is to take a few simple steps to give it its final shape and functionality.

The cooler itself is quite functional, but you need to prepare it for non-standard way uses:

  1. Wires.

If the fan is located next to the computer, a regular unnecessary USB cable will do. It needs to be cut and the insulation removed (the same with the cooler wires):

We are only interested in two wires: red (plus) and black (minus). If there are other colors in the cooler or USB cable, feel free to cut them off and isolate them, since they are absolutely unnecessary and will only get in the way.

  1. Compound.

After cleaning, the wires need to be connected to each other (it is enough to twist them tightly together). Don't mix up the colors. This threatens serious complications in the process of creating a ventilator.

A length of 10 mm is sufficient for twisting. If necessary, you can clean most of the wire, this is not scary, but you will have to insulate much more.

  1. Safety.

Remember that proper insulation is the key to success and a guarantee that the computer or outlet will not short out. Bare wires should be covered with electrical tape (exclusively in the absence of power), and the thicker it is, the better.

There is no particular point in explaining what threatens the fall of “minus” to “plus”. If the red and black wires come into contact while transmitting electricity, not only the USB cable/port, but also the computer components may burn out.

In principle, computers are not afraid of such moments if they are equipped with protection against voltage surges. But when a wall outlet is used, repairing the wiring in the apartment will be much more difficult than creating a small fan.

Therefore, take serious care to insulate the exposed parts of the wires. Rarely does anyone need unnecessary complications.

  1. The finishing touches.

Don't forget that a computer cooler is very light, but at the same time very fast. Even with a voltage of 5 volts, its speed will be quite high. We consider this voltage for a reason: the cooler will do its job perfectly, and the operation will be as silent as possible.

Due to the small size of the device, it may fall due to vibrations. This should not be allowed for the following reasons:

  • Such a cooler cannot cause lethal cuts even during operation, but there is no guarantee that the device will not jump up and fly off, for example, into the face;
  • if it falls on a non-flat surface (on a pencil, pen, lighter), its blades can be damaged: fragments breaking off at such a rotation speed can cause irreparable damage;
  • other unforeseen circumstances.

Therefore, it is important to secure the cooler (with tape, glue) to some more stable surface: a box, a wooden block, a table.

  1. Additional features.

If desired, the finished fan can be updated externally, add a switch (so as not to pull out the cord every time), etc. But attention is also paid to a method that increases the efficiency of the device relatively well.

Simply cut off the top of the plastic bottle and glue it (with a wide hole) to the cooler frame. Thus, the air flow will be more accurate and directed: the force of air movement will become approximately 20% stronger, which is a pretty good indicator.

At this point, the creation of the fan is completed, and it is ready for full operation.

Disc fan

If the previous option does not suit you, and you want something more complex, then consider creating a fan yourself from computer disks:

  1. Engine.

Since we don’t use a cooler, we need to get some kind of motor that drives the blades of our future device. In fact, you can also use the motor of the already mentioned cooler of the cooling system, but this is too simple.

You should find or buy a motor with a specific part that moves (for example, a protruding iron rod). Since we are making a fan from disks, having such a rod would be the best option. Motors from an old VCR or player are also perfect, because they spin discs and cassettes - just what we need for the spinning propeller in our fan.

You should not use an engine made from washing machine or even a past fan - they are extremely powerful. Due to the self-assembly of the structure, it will be very flimsy. In the very first seconds, a strong motor will scatter fragments of blades throughout the room and fly off the base.

If there is a running motor, it must be secured with wires in the previously mentioned form.

Having a running engine in hand, you need to concentrate on the disks, which are the main components of our fan. First of all, cut one into 8 equal parts:

To avoid mistakes during the procedure, you can first mark the disc with a pencil. It is best to use a soldering iron (there will be no sharp edges, it is safer), but ordinary scissors will also work.

Afterwards, the disk should be slightly heated with a lighter so that the material becomes more pliable, and the wings should be bent in the manner of blades, like conventional fans:

You can do the same with regular plastic bottle:

You need to insert a wooden bottle cap into the center of our propeller. If the size is too big, it can be planed.

  1. The remaining parts.

As a center holding the entire structure, you can use a regular roll sleeve toilet paper:

It should be secured in the center of the second disk, which will act as a foundation for the fan. You can place half of the second bushing on top, as seen in the photo, so that the motor is inside it. You need to hang the blades from the disk/bottle on it.

The fan is ready for operation. If desired, you can add decorative elements to make the device look more presentable.

You can see clearly how such a fan is made from a bottle in this video.

Additionally, it should be recalled that important points when creating homemade fan:

  1. To fasten the parts together, you need to use high-quality “superglue”.

Exactly the one that you can’t peel off even if you want to. The entire structure must be as stable as possible and not succumb to vibrations and fluctuations. Be responsible and fill everything you see with glue except the blades and internal parts engine.

  1. Take your time.

You risk missing out important detail, and this significantly increases the chances that something will go wrong during the operation of the finished fan. The consequences can be quite serious.

  1. Do not use inferior components.

If you don’t need the motor that is used to create the engine, its performance may be in doubt. Make sure it will last for some time and be effective.

Building an engine from scratch is a highly specialized process and requires a lot of knowledge. Make sure that the motherboards are in order, that all necessary connections are sealed well, etc. It is better to check again than to make another fan later.

  1. Insulation.

We remind you once again: do not forget about high-quality winding of wires with electrical tape. You shouldn't save it, because short circuits and repairing them will force you to sacrifice a lot of expenses. Perhaps even in a monetary sense.

A hand-held fan is quite compact, efficient and does its job well. It is not difficult to do if you take the procedure responsibly and follow the instructions. There are no restrictions on dimensions: if you feel strong, feel free to start assembling the fan larger size.

Summer has arrived, which means heat, heat and an eternal lack of coolness. But this problem can be fixed, and quite easily. You only need a few details and a little free time to make your life easier with your own hands, to fill it with the light coolness that you will certainly get by making USB fan Houses. Of course, you can go and buy a fan in a store, but how nice it will be to sit next to the same computer, and a light breeze from the USB fan you created will blow on you. And a thing created with your own hands always pleases not only the eye, but also develops self-love.

We invite you to watch a video of a homemade USB fan:

Tools for usb fan:
- A regular CD (not necessarily new);
- The tube of silicone glue is empty;
- Wooden block;
- Mini disk;
- USB cord;
- Motor;
- Holder;
- Adapter;
- Silicone glue gun.

You need to make three holes in the tube, one in the lid and two on the sides. Holes can be easily made using a regular nail, which must first be heated.

IN wooden block it is also necessary to make a slot or recess. This can be easily done using sandpaper.

The mini disk easily turns into a propeller. To do this, you need to draw it into uniform blades, then heat a stationery knife and cut along pre-drawn lines. And after that, we heat the base of each blade with a lighter and, using our hands, bend each blade a little to make a propeller.

We take the motor, holder and adapter from a non-working CD drive.

Now let's start assembling the USB fan.

Heat up the glue gun. Lubricate the holder along the axis silicone glue from a glue gun. The propeller must be firmly seated on this glue. Press on all sides. Then, on the other side of the holder, add a drop of glue and glue the adapter. We wait until the glue dries well. This usually only takes a couple of minutes.

Now take a tube of silicone glue, remove the lid and coat the inside with silicone glue. And we insert the motor inside so that the part that we will connect sticks out of the hole that we originally made.

Then we insert the USB cord into the side hole of the glue tube and connect the ends of the wires to the motor.

You need to pour silicone glue into the recess in the wooden block, and place the wire from the USB cord tightly there, and glue the tube itself with the motor inside to the base of the block. And on the other side of the block we glue the CD with silicone glue.

Now the propeller needs to be placed on the side of the adapter glued to it onto the sharp edge of the motor, which sticks out of the hole in the tube from under the glue.

And finally, our USB fan can be plugged into the network and get that long-awaited coolness.

The fan is not a complicated device. It consists of a motor, blades, various adjustment buttons and a stand-case. There are additional elements, such as backlight, clock, but these are options that are not so important.

It is not at all necessary to buy a fan, because you can easily make one yourself. Moreover, this does not require special skills of a master.

With the proper skill, homemade model It will turn out not as a way to get rid of old things, but as an opportunity to show imagination and, possibly, hidden talents. Some craftsmen quite easily create both functional and extremely attractive options. They harmoniously complement the interior and become the center of attention no worse than any art object.

How to make a fan from a regular electric motor

Probably the simplest and quick way To acquire a homemade fan assembled with your own hands, you need to find a regular motor, which is most often found in toys.

Standard electric motor from a toy

Ordering such a thing is not difficult. Moreover, today, without stopping for a minute, caravans of various trinkets from the Middle Kingdom ply. And if not, then it’s enough to buy an inexpensive one toy car and remove the motor from it.

But you definitely shouldn’t expect the impossible from such a device. Rather, it will only be able to move air slightly. But for a desktop model it will do just fine. He will be able to blow air onto the face of someone sitting at the computer.

For such a fan you can use absolutely anything. The main parts will be:

  • blades;
  • motor;
  • on/off button;
  • stand;
  • power system.

Otherwise, the limit of the idea will only be within the boundaries of imagination.

After the motor is ready for use, it makes sense to take care of the power supply. These could be batteries, just like in the toy for which the motor was intended. But definitely this kind of energy will not last long. However, there is a plus - the device will remain compact and portable.

The second option is mains power. But in this case you need not to overdo it. Direct connection via a plug is a sure way to burn out the motor. So you should not experiment, trying to spin the engine to high speeds. On toys, electric motors are usually designed for 3-4.5 Volts, and the desire to provide more rotation due to powerful energy sources, firstly, will quickly drain the source (if it is a battery), and secondly, will seriously reduce the life of the fan, even to the point of failure. The engine will start to heat up and the brushes may melt.

But modern chargers convert the voltage in the network, reducing it to the specified parameters. You can find a power supply, including on sale, that is ideal for the motor.

To create blades, you can take any material. The main thing is that it is light. Due to the weakness of the motor, the less the blades weigh, the faster the rotation will be, and, therefore, the efficiency of the work.

  • The easiest option is to take a stopper from a regular plastic bottle, which will serve as a fastening for the blades. Make a hole in the bottle the size of the rotating axis of the electric motor.
  • The blades can be made from a regular CD. A hole the size of a bottle cap is burned in the center. The circumference of the disk is divided into 8 sectors. They are cut to some distance, but not to the center. Afterwards, the disk needs to be heated with fire to easily bend the blades. A lighter is suitable for this.

Creating blades on a CD

  • You can attach the disk to the cork with glue. The second option is when a hole is burned in the middle for the plug - immediately connect the structure. The melted plastic will harden and hold firmly.
  • After all this, the structure is connected to each other. Wire is suitable for the stand. This is perhaps the simplest option. And for such a lightweight device, you can’t imagine anything better. You can bend the frame in such a way as to hide the batteries there unnoticed. Or carefully run the power supply wire going to the motor.
  • The circuit does not have to be always closed if you use batteries, so you need to secure the button to the case. It's inexpensive. You can use it from a toy from which the motor was removed.

Another option for a propeller design is to use thick paper. The method is even simpler, but less practical.

Advice! When experimenting, remember that the larger the fan blade area, the noisier it will work. On the other hand, small blades do not move air as efficiently.

How to make a fan out of paper

Paper is not the best suitable material for a home fan for the simple reason that it is very impractical. Any ingress of water, even banal humidity, and the device will rapidly begin to lose its hardness.

But even despite all the disadvantages, craftsmen They even make quite nice samples from paper. Of course, we are talking about thick paper or cardboard. Strong material from boxes works well. You will also need a regular motor or cooler, an on/off button and wires.

The simplest table fan using cardboard

The approximate design plan is that the device can be simplified as much as possible. The impeller is easy to cut and can have many or few blades. Everything is at the master's request. The motor can be mounted on a wooden or cardboard block. The stand will also be made from paper or an old computer disk.

It is only important not to forget that such a fan is very light, which makes it shaky in operation. Therefore, it is necessary to further strengthen the body. Old batteries, bolts or nuts work well.

How to make a fan from a plastic bottle

Crazy Hands' favorite raw material is plastic bottles - almost ideal for creating your own fan. Good for propeller upper part standard round bottle. You need to cut off the part with the cork just above the pasted label.

  • The part of the bottle with the cork will be the blades. To do this, you need to cut the plastic down to the cork so that you get several different petals. After one, the petals are cut off at the base. The remaining ones are future propeller blades.

Fan blades made from a plastic bottle

  • You can use a candle or lighter to shape the blades and twist them a little. The main thing is not to overdo it, because the plastic is soft and can catch fire. The goal is to warm it up a little, not set it on fire.
  • The plug will be the base of the propeller. A hole is made in it according to the dimensions of the motor axis. To keep the connection firmly, you can put it on glue.
  • Now is the time to think about the foundation. The rest of a plastic bottle will also work for this. A hole is cut in it to rigidly place the plug with the blades at a right angle. You must remember to weigh down the base - with nuts, bolts or any other metal objects.
  • A hole is made on the base for the button and the chain is assembled. There is also enough space for a power supply.

Field for imagination when working with plastic bottle extensively. You can use several bottles at once. One will become a propeller (more precisely, part of it), and the second will become a solid foundation. But then they will need additional materials. For example, ordinary drinking straws.

Simple and lightweight bottle fan

How to make a USB fan

But the most convenient and simple fan is an old cooler, which can also be used. For example, put it on a table, and it will cool, but not the processor or video card, but a person.

The advantages of this design are obvious: the cooler is very reliable, because it is its job to constantly turn the impeller and cool something. And it’s easy to get coolers. It is enough to either find an old computer, or order a new fan or buy it in a store.

The cooler design is simple. This is a ready-made fan in a plastic case. There are two wires coming from it (usually red and black).

Regular computer cooler

Making a USB fan takes just a few minutes:

  1. The wires on the cooler are stripped 1-2 centimeters.
  2. Take a regular USB cable, at the end of which you also need to get rid of the insulation. The standard USB cable has four wires inside. Of these, you should choose black and red. Cut off the rest so as not to get in the way, and clean up the necessary ones.
  3. Connect the red wire of the cord to the red one on the cooler. Black - with black. Carefully insulate areas without winding. Ready.
  4. All that remains is to think about the holding device. Here the already familiar wire, which can take any shape, can come in handy. Even suitable for a fan housing carton, and if you spend a little more effort and time, you can even build a real designer object.

Design approach to fan design

It is very convenient when the fan turns on when the computer starts. In addition, modern units have several USB outputs at once. It turns out that such a device will not interfere.

Another point is that sometimes you want to turn on the fan regardless of the computer’s operation (especially since a device with a cooler turns out to be quite powerful, good and useful). Then you can use adapters. For example, today they make chargers for phones that easily turn into a USB cable when the connector with the plug is disconnected. Similar equipment can be used for a fan, making it universal: operating from the network and from the USB port of any computer. Another advantage of this design is the simplest electrical circuit. A cooler-based fan can even do without extra buttons: just a wire and a plug.

DIY bladeless fan

But a slightly unusual use of a free cooler (but you can get by with an electric motor) is a bladeless fan. Modern, interesting, with the right skill – no less effective – a solution that definitely attracts the eye. The thing turns out to be completely non-standard, spectacular.

For example, here is the ideal appearance bladeless or duct fan model:

This is roughly how you can make a bladeless fan with your own hands

The most important thing about bladeless models is, of course, their appearance. Therefore, if you make such a device yourself, you need to try to think through the frame in the smallest detail. Uneven edges, roughness - all this will spoil the impression.

The body of a bladeless fan is almost entirely the work area. Don’t think that some kind of space technology is being implemented here.

Air circulation is carried out quite prosaically - with the help of rotating blades. They hide in the base tube. If you take a cooler from a computer, you can make a stand according to its shape. Here, as they say, at the discretion of the author.

The differences from the classics are in the location of the cooler - it is placed horizontally in a bladeless fan.

Cooler location in a bladeless fan

The top ring is made hollow inside, two-layered. There the main redirection of air in the right direction is carried out.

A hollow cavity is visible in top ring fan, where the air blows from

You can make the frame of a bladeless fan from plastic, wood, or thick cardboard. It is better to use a flexible material so that you can easily give it the shape of a ring. An alternative is to use a combined structure. For example, the rings are made of cardboard or plastic, and the rigid frame is made of wood.

You need to cut:

  • four sides for a stand;
  • Two circles of the same radius;
  • Twist two rings of different diameters.

Then everything is put together and, if necessary, painted.

Meals can be arranged in different ways. Universal option– a combined wire for the USB connector and a plug for the socket.

The device can also be a little more complicated. For example, make a light strip of diode strip along the edge of the rim. The backlight consumes little energy, but will add beauty to the fan. And the power supply and wiring, if necessary, can easily be hidden in the stand.

How to make a powerful fan with your own hands

When it comes to powerful fans, then you need to understand that they require completely different engines. Starting from old fan motors to others household appliances. Good fit:

The only thing is that you need to get into the voltage corridor that is required to power the motor. For example, drills most often require 18 volts. But for ventilation purposes, it will be enough to supply less than half of this voltage. Even at 12 Volts, the fans are very loud and extremely unstable due to the strong inertia of the rotating blades.

Power for powerful electric motors must be supplied from the mains. Therefore, you need to think about installing a power supply or connecting charger. The electrical circuit can be complicated by adding light bulbs lying around, electronic watch, radio, toggle switch or board for switching operating modes. But it’s easier, of course, to limit yourself to only a fan with a button, if that’s enough.

In any case, such homemade variations of homemade fans are sometimes much better than even purchased options. With the right skill, you can get a very good thing, a real pride of the owner.
