For a universal type organizer, all compartments can be made the same size; for an organizer for bras, you can not cross them, and simply divide the entire space into several long zones. On the strips of dividers for the universal organizer, slots must be drawn that will allow them to be fixed to each other. The width of these slits corresponds to the thickness of the cardboard in which they are cut, and the height corresponds to half the total height of the dividers. Now you can start designing and assembling parts. Next you should start sewing the cover: You can make a removable version that will be washed occasionally, which is important for light fabrics, or a non-removable one. With the latter much less work, it is done in almost the same way as decorating dividers - using glue. It is enough to simply apply to the external and inside cardboard box with PVA glue, drawing out thin tracks with it, place the fabric on top and carefully iron it, eliminating air bubbles. It is advisable to place the “seams” inside, since on the outside at the bottom they will interfere with the stability of the organizer. When the glue dries, dividers are placed inside, and the underwear organizer is ready.
If you want a removable cover, then a pattern is marked on the fabric, which is an unfolded box. That is, the central rectangle of its bottom and the rectangles of the walls extending from it. Each “wall” must have an allowance of 0.5 cm on the side, along which they will be sewn, as well as on top - for further connection with the inside of the case. It is recommended to process the edges of the fabric with an overlock or zigzag stitch on a machine before proceeding to basting the parts and passing the final seam along them. The outer cover should be a soft mock-up of a cardboard frame. The inner one is sewn in the same way, but the height of its “walls” on the pattern is slightly smaller, exactly the difference in the thickness of the bottom of the box. In addition, there is no need to make allowances on top of the “walls” - only on the sides, in order, again, to sew all the parts together, forming an inner soft box.
To connect the outer and inner covers, you will need Velcro: they are sewn onto the saved allowances on top of the outer cover and to the corresponding areas near the walls of the inner cover. After that, all that remains is to put the fabric on the body of the organizer and secure the covers with Velcro to each other.
