Moscow 1991

The manual contains supporting data for designing to SNiP 11-23-81 "Steel structures". The guidance is aimed at increasing labor productivity in design, reducing the metal consumption of structures and improving the quality of design.

The first part of the Guide contains tables of design parameters necessary for the selection of sections of steel structure elements. The guide is intended for engineering and technical workers of design organizations and specialists of factories manufacturing steel structures.

All comments and suggestions should be sent to the address: 117393, Moscow, st. Architect Vlasov, 49, Technical Department of the Institute.

FOREWORD

The manual was developed for SNiP 11-23-81 "Steel structures".

The guide applies to the design of building steel structures for buildings and structures for various purposes and contains auxiliary tables for the selection of sections of steel structures.

This part of the Guide (first edition in 1982) contains tables of design parameters for the calculation of steel structures and limit forces on connections.

The second part of the Guide, published in 1987, provides information and tables for the selection of sections for beams of technological platforms.

The third part of the Guide, published in 1989, provides information and tables for the selection of sections of columns.

In the future, the Guide will be supplemented by subsequent parts as new materials are developed.

The text and tables of sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8 of the Guide were prepared by P.I. Suzdalov and Grunenkov B .C ., section 6 - A .M . Gribanov, section 9 - V.P. Velikhov and V.M. Babushkin. The tables were checked and the material was prepared by S.D. Kurina and L.B. Musician.

  1. MAIN PROVISIONS

1.1. The Guide contains only auxiliary materials for the design of building steel structures and when working with it, you must comply with the requirements of SNiP 11-23-81 *.

1.2. Ultimate forces in the elements of steel structures were determined at γ c = 1 and γ t = 1.

1.3. Steel for steel structures of buildings and structures must be taken in accordance with SNiP 11-23-81 *.

1.4. When developing designs for load-bearing steel structures of industrial buildings and structures manufactured at steel structure factories, one should be guided by a reduced range of rolled metal products for use in building structures.

Information on the supply of other types of rolled metal is available from the Directorate for the Supply and Marketing of Metal Products (Soyuzglavmetal) under the State Committee of the Council of Ministers of the USSR for Material and Technical Supply. Soyuzglavtrubsnabsbyt has information about the supply of pipes.

1.5. The choice of gradations and sizes of details of units and sections of profiles should be made taking into account the requirements of GOST 8032-84 "Preferred numbers and series of preferred numbers" and GOST 6636-69 "Normal linear dimensions".

1.6. When developing project documentation, the following conditions must be observed:

Completing structural elements (individual shipping elements and all structures) from the minimum number of profiles;

In the case of using corners of the same caliber, but of different thicknesses, in one sending element, the difference in thicknesses should be taken at least 2 mm;

Do not accept in one structural element the same profile sizes from different steels.
