What folk remedies to feed peppers for active growth. How to feed pepper with folk remedies How to feed pepper during the ovary

An indispensable condition for the well-being of pepper in central Russia is its regular feeding with fertilizers of various types. It is first produced at the stage of seedling care, and repeated several times until the fruit appears. It is important to accurately calculate the amount of fertilizer and know what bell pepper loves.

Fertilizer recipes for bell peppers

The most suitable fertilizers for this crop are urea and superphosphates. Many summer residents use potash and nitrogen fertilizers, cow dung, bird droppings and other folk remedies are also used. There are many recipes for compounds that benefit bell pepper.

Cow dung and bird droppings are used as solutions. Mullein is bred at the rate of 1:10, and litter 1:12. In the absence of these natural fertilizers, sodium humate can be used, one tablespoon of liquid substance per bucket of water. It is a universal nutrient fertilizer for peppers.
Choosing the right composition for a particular type of soil and the period of development of pepper is not difficult, but there are signs by which you can determine the priority needs of the bushes. So, with a lack of nitrogen, the vegetative mass turns yellow and develops poorly, the absence of potassium leads to a marginal burn of the leaves, and a lack of phosphorus gives a purple hue to the bushes.
Nettle tea is what you can feed the bell pepper at any period of its development. It is prepared as follows: finely chopped nettle stalks are folded into a container - a barrel, a plastic bucket - two-thirds of the volume. They are filled with water, you can rain, and put in a dark place for fermentation. When the mixture stops fermenting (it takes about a week), the liquid from it is used in a 1:10 solution.
Often it is made more saturated. Together with nettles, chopped leaves of dandelion, wood lice, plantain and other herbs are put in a container (even valerian and motherwort are used). A liter of mullein and a glass of wood ash are added to 10 liters of grass with water, and the solution is allowed to ferment. When used, it is also diluted with water.

A popular remedy is nitrophoska - a fairly cheap complex fertilizer. It is applied at the rate of 30 grams per 1 square meter of land, dry or diluted with water. It can also be mixed with diluted bird droppings to make a more nutritious mixture.

Land preparation

Before planting pepper, the ground is also fertilized, but this must be done correctly. If it is known in advance where the seedlings will be planted, then it is possible to determine how to feed the bell pepper even before it is planted. And the best time for this will be the introduction of mixtures in the fall.
We are talking about mineral fertilizers, and the following mixture will be universal:
. 1 tbsp superphosphate;
. 1 sl. potassium sulfate;
. 1 tsp urea.
This composition is applied to the soil at the rate of one portion per 1 square meter of land. Depending on the type of soil, it can also be prepared in advance for growing peppers. So, one bucket of sawdust and rotted manure, and two buckets of peat per square meter are added to loamy soil. One bucket of peat, humus and sand is added to the clay soil. And in the sandy two buckets of peat and one bucket of humus for the same area.
The above compositions are evenly distributed over the area of future beds, and then they are dug up. Already prepared land is watered with a hot solution of mullein or sodium humate.

Wood ash, often left over from clearing old trees and overgrowth, is a great alternative to potash fertilizers. It is applied to the ground at the rate of 1 glass per square meter in dry form and in solution. In addition to potassium, it contains phosphorus and calcium. The latter is especially necessary for pepper when the fruit ripens. If it is significantly lacking in the soil, gypsuming of the earth is also carried out at the stage of autumn work.

Seedling feeding

To know how to feed bell pepper seedlings, you need to take into account the quality of the soil. If this is ordinary land transferred to a greenhouse, then it needs to be enriched with nutrients at least every 10 days. If the mixture was formed specifically for seedlings, three procedures for fertilizing it will suffice.
Often summer residents use the most affordable way to feed seedlings if it is grown on pallets in greenhouses. Between the rows of seedlings, long shallow trenches are made into which a solution of manure or bird droppings is poured. They protect tender seedlings from chemical burns. The procedure is carried out at the stage of the appearance of the second or third sheet.
After diving, ten days later, the second feeding of seedlings is carried out. Complex fertilizers and ash solution, as well as compost tea, are suitable for her. It is best to fertilize with water when watering. You can also use any of the all-purpose mixes that are now sold in abundance.

After 20 days, the third feeding of seedlings follows. A mixture of nitrophoska, bird droppings and ash is ideal for her. It is also applied in the amount of 1 liter of aqueous solution per plant. If the bushes are still small, you can divide the solution into several waterings.

Feeding after planting

Directly when planting seedlings in the holes, 2-3 tablespoons of wood ash can be poured into each hole, and mixed thoroughly with the ground. After a week, you need to think again about how to feed the bell pepper after landing. A solution of mullein or bird droppings is perfect for fertilizer in the first ten days after planting.
Before flowering, you need to repeat top dressing two more times. Mixtures of mineral fertilizers, such as "Rizhskaya", "Senior Tomato", "Gomel", as well as a solution of wood ash, are suitable for this. A universal remedy will be nitrophoska. For each procedure, you need to choose only one composition - either a complex fertilizer, or a solution of manure or litter.
The next mixture is used two weeks after the previous one. For 100 liters of water add 10 liters of mullein and 5 liters of bird droppings, a glass of urea. Give the infusion to ferment, and leave for 5 days. Then it is thoroughly mixed and used in the amount of 5 liters per square meter.
If the plant needs additional feeding, you can use universal mixtures or herbal teas. Fresh manure leads to a strong growth of deciduous mass, but interferes with flowering and fruit development.

Stimulation of fruiting

At the flowering stage of peppers, the ground directly around the plants is watered with nettle or herbal tea. One bush consumes 1 liter of solution. This allows you to save all the ovaries and stimulate fruiting. The question of how to feed bell peppers for fruit growth is often of interest to vegetable growers, and you need to understand that the bushes should have enough nutrition in general.
After the ovaries have appeared on the bushes, it is necessary to irrigate with wood ash mixed with water. The calcium contained in it protects the fruits from certain diseases and makes them healthier and stronger. Herbal or nettle teas, and complex fertilizers are actively used during this period.
Any fertilizer for bell pepper is applied to moist soil. Even if an aqueous solution is taken, it must be used no later than three days after watering. The water in the solutions should be warm, 25-30 degrees Celsius. This ensures the safety of heat-loving bushes.

Do not use more fertilizer than recommended. This can damage the bush - branches can become stiff ahead of time, too active growth of the vegetative mass will make it difficult for the formation of ovaries, and can lead to the appearance of empty fruits that fall long before ripening.
Fertilizing even the most nutritious soils cannot be neglected. Bulgarian pepper is a very heat-loving plant, which in its homeland receives most of its nutrition directly from the sun. In our country, it is regular feeding that partly compensates for the climate that is not quite suitable for this crop.

Pepper responds well to fertilization and is said to be a vegetable with a very good "appetite". To obtain a decent harvest, regular feeding should be continued both during the period of fruit set and at the time of their active growth. Proper feeding of peppers during fruiting is the key to a noble harvest.

What batteries are needed

During the formation and return of the crop, peppers need additional nutrition. To stimulate fruiting, as a rule, potassium, nitrogen, phosphorus are required. But plants also need many other important micronutrients, here are just a few:

  • magnesium,
  • molybdenum,
  • calcium,

The list of substances necessary for peppers depends on the characteristics and condition of the soil on the site, plants - predecessors, climatic and geological features of the area. To understand whether it is necessary to start feeding, the bushes themselves will help. An attentive gardener will recognize by the appearance of the plantings what elements are missing:

  • the back side of the leaves has become gray and dull - nitrogen is deficient;
  • the foliage is plentiful, fleshy and dark green, and there are almost no fruits, few - nitrogen is in excess, but phosphorus is not enough;
  • flowers and ovaries fall, the flowering of peppers is poor - boron is needed, and, possibly, iodine.

Attention! An excess of nitrogen during the fruiting period of peppers will lead to an increase in green mass to the detriment of fruit development.

Types of fertilizer during fruiting

During the fruiting period, mineral and organic fertilizers are alternately applied to the plantings of peppers. They practice both root and foliar top dressing. Most often, nutrients are used in a liquid state or in the form of an aqueous solution.

Intensive top dressing is not required if the plant looks healthy and strong, blooms profusely and sets fruits well, and the peppers themselves are actively growing and have no damage.

mineral

Top dressing of peppers during fruiting usually begins with the application of mineral fertilizers. 30-40 grams of granules are taken per 10-liter bucket (approximately as much is included in a matchbox). The feeding option is chosen based on what active ingredients the peppers need at this time:

  • potassium sulfate (this is potassium sulfate, it is preferable to chloride);
  • superphosphate (phosphorus);
  • potassium nitrate - potassium nitrate (potassium);
  • superphosphate in combination with a potassium compound;
  • ammonium nitrate (nitrogen);
  • urea (urea, source of nitrogen);
  • azofoski - nitroammophoska (sodium, potassium, phosphorus).

Fertilizer granules are thoroughly dissolved in warm water. Plantings are watered with the resulting solution at the rate of a liter per plant, or a bucket per square meter of ridge.

Urea, ammonium nitrate and superphosphate are also used for foliar feeding, this stimulates the acceleration of fruit formation. One teaspoon of fertilizer is taken for five liters of water, foliage and stems of peppers are treated with a garden sprayer.

Advice! On soils with a high acidity index, superphosphate is better absorbed by peppers if fertilizer is applied with chalk, phosphate rock or limestone.

About when and what fertilizers to apply, what result to get, you can learn from the video:

organic

First, you should make a choice between organic fertilizers offered by the industry, and self-prepared top dressings. Special tools purchased in the store are used in accordance with the instructions.

Self-preparation of organic dressings requires additional time and careful consideration of the characteristics of the soil in the garden. It is worth taking care of this 7-15 days before applying fertilizer.

Attention! The need for potassium in peppers is 20% higher in cool, non-sunny summers. It will be effective, additionally, to add half a liter of wood ash under each bush.

For more information on fertilizing peppers during fruiting, see the video:

Fertilizers with important trace elements

Peppers are extremely in need of a sufficient amount of trace elements. During the fruiting period, this vegetable crop must be provided at least once with a complex or simple top dressing containing these substances.

A lot of the necessary components in the "Riga mix", which is produced in two versions:

  • Option "A". In addition to potassium, phosphorus and nitrogen, it includes boron, molybdenum, zinc, cobalt, manganese.
  • Option "B". Additionally contains iron and magnesium. One tablet of fertilizer is dissolved in a bucket of water.

Easy to use and give a visible result factory complex top dressing: "Ideal", "Giant", "Impulse +", "Breadwinner", and others. The compositions are dissolved in water in the proportions indicated in the instructions for use, and the peppers are watered under the root.

Folk ways of feeding

It is widely used as a complex fertilizer and ash - peat, grass, wood. Wood ash is especially useful. It is rich in potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, calcium, sulfur, iron and many others. This useful substance is used in the preparation of liquid fertilizers, foliar top dressing, in dry form under the root.

To increase the intensity of fruit formation and ripening, spraying with an aqueous solution of boric acid is excellent - 2 grams per 10 liters of water. The substance is poorly soluble in cold water, so the powder is first introduced into a small amount of non-cool boiling water, and then cold water is added to the desired volume. This measure not only accelerates fruiting, significantly increases the yield of peppers, but also improves its quality, protecting it from diseases.

Treatment with ordinary iodine has an amazing effect on this vegetable crop. You only need 3 drops per 10 liters of water. Water under the root, one liter for each bush, or spray the entire plant. The drug not only treats and prevents diseases, but also increases fruiting, increases the size of each pepper by 15-20 percent and seriously reduces the ripening time.

Features of top dressing in the greenhouse

When growing peppers indoors, care must be taken to improve the soil structure with the help of ash, crushed eggshells, rotted sawdust and manure, because all these organic substances also increase soil fertility.

Additional feeding of peppers during fruiting in the greenhouse is necessary in the middle of fruiting, after the first and second harvest. Mineral complexes are also suitable for this, but organic fertilizers are more often used.

How to feed peppers in a greenhouse is described in this video:

Conclusion

Contrary to the opinion among some gardeners that fertilizing during the period of formation and ripening of peppers is fraught with the accumulation of substances harmful to humans in them, the fruiting period is not a reason to refuse top dressing.

Properly selected and timely applied fertilizers will help grow healthy peppers with excellent taste.

To grow a good pepper crop, you need to properly fertilize. What to feed the plants? This question is asked by novice farmers. For normal growth, seedlings need mineral and organic substances, which are not enough in ordinary soil. They are introduced at different stages of pepper growth, both when leaves appear, and just before planting in the ground. If you apply the right fertilizers in the right rows, the seedlings will take root, and the harvest of peppers in the summer will be plentiful.

Rules for feeding pepper

When feeding seedlings of peppers, you must remember:

This plant does not tolerate fresh manure; - you can not feed the seedlings immediately after picking - at least two weeks must pass; - feeding solutions should be at room temperature or slightly warmer; - feed, as well as water, you need to be very careful, trying to prevent drops from falling on the leaves and stems;

This operation is best done in the morning or evening.

Organic fertilizers for seedlings (video)

Fertilizing bell pepper seedlings is an important part of caring for these plants. Top dressing allows young seedlings to grow faster, while their root system develops. However, it is important to carry out the application of nutrients according to special schemes so as not to overfeed the plants.

Folk dressing recipes

What else can I feed seedlings of peppers with? In addition to standard fertilizers, they use various folk remedies. They contain minerals and organic substances that are beneficial to plants. They are cheaper than standard ones, do not have toxic properties. Therefore, many gardeners prefer just such natural fertilizers.

Feeding peppers with ash

Ash is not only an excellent source of potassium, calcium, magnesium and other minerals useful for plants, but also a unique substance that can make acidic soil suitable for vegetable crops. Ash in the soil reduces the risk of developing fungal diseases in peppers.

To prepare top dressing from ash, you need to mix one tablespoon of this substance with two liters of water and insist for a day. At the same time, you need to make sure that the ash that you use as fertilizer was not obtained from the burning of construction debris and painted wood.

Fertilizing pepper with yeast

Fertilizing seedlings with yeast not only contributes to the introduction of nutrients into the soil, but also completely rebuilds the soil structure. Such work of fungal microorganisms accelerates the growth of seedlings, and improves the yield of pepper.

The basis of such top dressing is yeast (10 g), sugar (4 tablespoons) and water (10 liters). The resulting solution is a concentrate, which must be diluted with clean water in proportions of 1:10 before being applied to the soil.

Yeast can be replaced with wheat grains. To do this, they are poured with a small amount of water and left in a warm place. When the grains swell, they need to be ground into porridge and add sugar. Two to three tablespoons per glass of dry wheat grains. The resulting viscous mass must be heated and left for a day in a dark place.

Before applying such top dressing, this mass must also be diluted with clean water.

Feeding peppers with egg shells

At home, it is easy to prepare top dressing from the shell of chicken testicles. The stock is made for several winter months in order to make a sufficient amount of fertilizer by the beginning of the season. Eggshells are a real storehouse of minerals needed for pepper seedlings. When soaked, hydrogen sulfide gas is released from it, thanks to which the extra-root part of the plants increases. In addition, the shells are added to the compost or simply scattered in the garden. Prepare the infusion as follows:

  • Crush the shell of 3-4 eggs
  • Pour 3 liters of warm water
  • Keep three days in a warm place under a loosely closed lid.

You can put top dressing on the veranda, where pepper seedlings grow, without closing the lid. Then hydrogen sulfide will be freely released into the air, stimulating the development of plants. After three days, top dressing is applied to the soil along with the shell. Before fertilizing pepper seedlings with a solution, fluff the ground well.

Top dressing of pepper with iodine

Iodine as a top dressing can not only accelerate the growth of plants, but also protect them from pests and diseases. Such top dressing is usually used simultaneously with watering, adding iodine to settled water:

  • For 10 liters of water take 10 g of iodine
  • Phosphorus (10 g) and potassium (20 g) can also be added to the solution.

How to feed pepper after picking and when planting in the ground

As soon as the plant gains strength and forms a good leg, you can proceed to the second stage of seedling fertilization. In this case, the mineral top dressing of pepper is designed to ensure that the seedlings subsequently give a good harvest and are not susceptible to various diseases during the fruit ripening period. In this case, fertilizers should contain macronutrients, phosphorus and microelements.

So, how to fertilize pepper seedlings at the picking stage:

  • Green "Crystal" (20 g of fertilizer diluted in 10 liters of water and watered plants);
  • "Kemira-Lux" (we dilute 30 g of fertilizer in 10 liters of liquid and put it under the roots of the plant);
  • Mineral mixture (80 g of superphosphate, 30 g of potassium salt and 10 l of water);

If you managed to strengthen the seedlings of pepper at the initial stage of growth and the time has come to plant them in the ground, then in this case it is necessary to make another feeding of the plant in order to ensure good rooting. Here, mineral mixtures and various types of top dressing can be applied directly to the soil just before planting.

Latest articles about gardening and gardening

  • First of all, you can use a mixture of potassium chloride and superphosphate in a ratio of 15:40 gr. You can use this amount of fertilizer per 1 square meter of your garden.
  • Superphosphate and wood ash (40:30 gr) can be used on the same area with pepper seedlings.
  • An ideal solution would be a simple mullein solution as a top dressing for peppers (it is advisable to use at least 0.5 liters of mullein per 10 liters of water). This mixture must be poured into each well for planting pepper.
  • You can also use the simplest mixture of humus and earth in a 1: 1 ratio. This fertilizer is placed in the holes before planting seedlings.

It is worth remembering that subsequent top dressing of pepper must be done a week after planting the bushes in the soil. In this case, the temperature of the mineral mixtures should not be lower than 22 degrees. About 1 liter of top dressing should be poured under each seedling bush, strictly making sure that the fertilizer mixture does not erode the root system of the pepper.

And remember, the requirements of pepper seedlings for mineral dressings largely depend on weather conditions. So, in cloudy and cool summers, you need to feed the seedlings with plenty of potassium. To do this, you can use ordinary wood ash, which is best poured into the soil in two glasses per 1 sq.m.

How to properly feed pepper seedlings: fertilization schedule. Feeding pepper seedlings with folk remedies

The yield of most crops depends on seedlings, pepper is no exception.

If the plants have a plump stem, juicy and well-developed leaves, then we can talk about strong seedlings.

To grow high-quality seedlings, experienced gardeners resort to top dressing, the main role is assigned to folk remedies.

How to feed pepper seedlings so that the harvest pleases? This will be discussed further.

Do I need top dressing for pepper seedlings and what

Beginners in gardening believe that the more nutrients are added to the soil, the better the crop will be. But this is not always justified. If the soil is nutritious, rich in useful substances and the crops bear fruit well on it, then nothing else needs to be added. Top dressing is used wisely, since an excess of nutrients is just as harmful as their lack. Healthy plants gain excess green mass, which negatively affects yields.

Fertilizers are applied only if the seedlings are sluggish, poorly growing and developing.

Pepper seedlings are fertilized according to the following scheme:

When will the first true leaves appear?

After the third pair of leaves;

7 days before landing in the ground;

10 days after landing;

during bud formation.

The first feeding is aimed at the formation of a good root system and plant stem. The second time, pepper seedlings are fed to form a leaf cover. Before planting, peppers are fertilized in order to increase the resistance of plants to the environment. Subsequent top dressing helps female flowers not to crumble, increase productivity.

Important! Feed seedlings no more than 1 time in 10 days.

Before applying top dressing, it is important to know what and when to apply to the soil. As soon as the plants have the first true leaf, the seedlings are fed with phosphorus-potassium fertilizers, after which they switch to nitrogen. During the budding period, the plants are again fed with potassium.

Folk remedies for feeding pepper seedlings

The most effective in comparison with store-bought products are home-made dressings for seedlings, the choice of which is very large:

Cleaning from vegetables and fruits;

Plant residues of herbs;

Compost;

Manure or bird droppings;

Iodine, manganese or boric acid.

Each top dressing is applied as needed, if there is a reason for that.

How to replenish phosphorus and potassium in plants

Ash is a valuable nutrient fertilizer that not only nourishes seedlings, but also strengthens its immunity, increases survival rate and resistance to diseases.

Ash top dressing is used twice at the seedling growing stage, but separately from nitrogen fertilizers. Together, such top dressing is not carried out, since the ash destroys nitrogen.

Ash top dressing replenishes the reserves of potassium and phosphorus in plants, so it will be used at the very beginning of growth and during budding. The soil under the seedlings is moistened, and then sprinkled with ash. It is effective to use ash infusion as top dressing.

Ash infusion recipe:

Wood ash - 200 gr;

Water - 10 liters.

Dilute the ash in a bucket of water, mix well and infuse the mixture for 3-5 days. Then drain the mixture and use for watering seedlings.

For the same purpose, banana peels are also used, which are a good source of potassium.

Banana dressing recipe:

Banana peel - 2-3 pieces;

Water - 3 liters.

For infusion, use fresh or dried banana peel, which is pre-crushed, poured with water and infused for 2-3 days. The finished solution is filtered and used for feeding pepper seedlings.

It is important in the early stages of seedling growth to feed it with an infusion of eggshells. The shell contains not only potassium, phosphorus, but calcium, iron, magnesium. These elements stimulate the growth of seedlings.

Recipe for egg feed for pepper seedlings:

Eggshell - 2 pcs;

Water - 3 liters.

Crush the eggshell into powder, pour cold water over it and leave for 3 days, stirring occasionally. Strain the finished infusion. Top dressing is prepared from 1 cup of infusion and 3 liters of water.

Top dressing with nitrogen for seedlings of pepper

Bird droppings are a good source of nitrogen. Infusion for feeding is prepared from fresh or dry litter. You can apply top dressing before planting seedlings in the ground only 1 time.

Bird droppings recipe:

Bird droppings - 1 part;

Water - 2 parts.

Place the litter in any container, except for the iron one, and fill it with water. Stir the mixture and insist 3 days in the sun. For top dressing, use 1 glass of infusion, diluting it with 10 parts of water.

A high nitrogen nutrient mix can be made from grass clippings or weeds.

Herbal supplement recipe:

Water - 10 l;

Grass - 1 bucket.

Mowed grass or weeds without seeds that remain from weeding, pour a bucket of water and leave in a sunny place. The infusion is considered ready when the fermentation process is over. For feeding, use 1 glass of infusion, bringing it with water to the amount of 5 liters.

Yeast top dressing for peppers has been known for a long time. It not only stimulates the growth of seedlings, but also saves them from fungal diseases, significantly increases the yield.

Yeast infusion recipe:

Yeast - 100 gr;

Sugar - 150 gr;

Water - 5 liters.

Wet alcoholic yeast is used to prepare the infusion. Sugar is poured into the container, yeast is added and poured with water. Fertilizer is “boiled” in the sun, in an open container until fermentation is over. The working solution is prepared from 250 g of infusion and a bucket of water.

With this solution, seedlings are fertilized not only under the root, but also superficially. Experienced gardeners have noticed that such top dressing significantly increases the number of ovaries, which increases productivity.

Home feeding of pepper seedlings with ammonia has several advantages, since alcohol is rich in nitrogen.

Recipe for alcohol dressing:

Ammonium chloride - 20 mg;

Water - 8-10 liters.

Mixes ammonia with water, and carry out top dressing on the same day. Such fertilizer helps to cope with the bear. To do this, after planting the seedlings, we water the garden bed with a ready-made solution.

Feeding pepper seedlings as a disease prevention

Many top dressings are aimed not only at the formation of seedlings, but also at the disinfection of the soil, the prevention of fungal diseases.

One of the most common recipes is feeding seedlings with iodine. It is carried out once for prevention or as a treatment until the symptoms disappear.

Recipe for iodine tincture:

Water - 10 l;

Iodine - 15 drops;

Milk or whey - 1 liter.

Milk or whey is mixed with iodine and diluted with water. The mixture is used immediately after preparation. Spraying is carried out in the evening or early in the morning. Repeat preventive treatment immediately after rain.

Coffee grounds, which are brought into the holes when planting seedlings, will help to improve the composition of the soil and nourish the plants. In addition, onion infusion is used to disinfect the soil and top dressing.

Recipe for onion tincture:

Onion peel - 200 gr;

Water - 3-5 liters.

Pour the husk with water and leave for 5 days, after which the solution is filtered and used to feed the seedlings after planting in the ground.

How to properly feed pepper seedlings with folk remedies

In order for top dressing to bring maximum benefit, it is necessary to make them correctly and only as needed.

1. In cold summer, it is better to feed the seedlings in the morning so that the bed dries out by night. Cold weather and wet soil promote the development of fungal diseases;

2. Water for foliar top dressing is used warm.

3. Fertilizers are applied only after watering so that the soil is moist.

4. After top dressing, the soil must be loosened, which will provide oxygen access to the roots of plants.

How to determine what a plant is missing

The appearance of the plants will tell you what the seedlings lack, what top dressing is better to apply.

If there is a lack of nitrogen, then the lower leaves of the seedlings testify to this. They become faded, lose their green color. Plant growth slows down.

If the upper leaves on the seedlings turn pale, then the plants lack iron. And their wilting indicates a lack of copper. The fact that the seedlings need phosphorus is indicated by purple veins on the leaves.

Carefully monitor the plants, at different stages of development there is a shortage of different elements. Apply only those top dressings that are necessary.

Ready-made organic mixtures for feeding pepper seedlings

No less effective for feeding seedlings are organic natural mixtures that are used instead of home fertilizers or in conjunction with them.

For top dressing, it is better to choose liquid fertilizers that are better absorbed by the roots of plants. The solution for feeding seedlings is prepared not as strong as for adult plants.

Good results are shown by the following fertilizer solutions:

Kemira-Lux - for seedlings and flowers;

Crystal - for the formation of the root system;

Gumi - increases the stress resistance of seedlings;

Ideal - forms the root system.

It is necessary to apply fertilizer according to the instructions, without changing the dosage, otherwise there will be no benefit from its use.

Now you know how to feed pepper seedlings during the growth and formation of fruits, it remains only to choose a recipe and the harvest will not take long. Be sure to take into account the need of plants for nutrients. Remember the gardener's golden rule - it's better to underfeed than to overfeed the seedlings.

Feeding pepper seedlings with folk remedies

Pepper has long found its place in the garden of almost any garden in the country. The attitude towards him remains frivolous. Under the motto: "what has grown, it has grown", they do not show much care for him. As a result, the quantity and quality of the crop suffer. The fruits do not ripen, do not gain the desired sweetness and aroma. Although caring for this crop is no more difficult than growing tomatoes. You just need to know the features and preferences of peppers. Nutrition is the most important condition for the growth of all living organisms. Therefore, the most important event will be the study of information on the topic: how to feed pepper seedlings.

First food - soil

The initial nutritional power is given to the plant by the earth in which the seed is laid. For each garden crop, its own soil composition is preferable. Most of our vegetables are of foreign origin. This means that their ancestors grew up under different conditions and on other soils. Therefore, ordinary land from the garden will not be as useful for them as special soil.

You can buy specialized soil for pepper seedlings, or you can cook it, focusing on the desired composition. Moreover, the soil on the shelves of the store does not always meet the requirements. There are different variations of soil preparation for pepper seedlings:

  1. Peat, humus and garden soil of the same volume. Plus a half-liter jar for a bucket of ash from burning wood. Superphosphate in the amount of 2 matchboxes.
  2. River sand, humus, garden soil, peat in equal proportions.
  3. Earth in combination with sand and peat equally, watered with a nutrient composition of water dissolved in a bucket, superphosphate, potassium sulfate (30 g) and urea (10 g).
  4. Garden soil, turf, river sand and compost with the addition of ash, the ratio is a glass per bucket of the mixture.
  5. One part sand and compost to two parts sod.
  6. Take equal parts of leaf humus, garden soil, dilute with a small amount of sand and vermiculite.
  7. For three parts of ordinary land, take one part of sawdust and river sand.
  8. Mix peat and humus of the same amount, fertilize with superphosphate and potassium sulfate.
  9. Mix earth, sand and humus in equal proportions, fertilize with a small amount of ash.

The main aspect of the preparation of nutrient soil for seedlings of peppers is the achievement of a light porous structure and a balanced mineral composition.

First dressing of pepper seedlings

It is believed that pepper seedlings should be fed only after diving. Others carry out the first dressing before picking. The seeds have already been planted in carefully prepared nutrient soil and the first leaves have appeared. So, it's time to feed the seedlings with the first dressing. Give impetus to further growth. To do this, in a liter of water you need to dilute the following trace elements:

  • Any potash fertilizer 1 part;
  • Ammonium nitrate ½ part;
  • Superphosphate 3 parts.

All constituent ingredients must be thoroughly dissolved in warm water, at a temperature of at least 20 degrees. With this composition, light watering is done under the bushes of seedlings of peppers. Before feeding for a few hours, it is necessary to water the sprouts with clean water. This technique will allow the fertilizer to be evenly distributed in the soil and not burn the delicate roots of the plant.

There are analogues among natural fertilizers. A good first dressing for the growth of pepper seedlings can be a mixture of nettle infusion with ash. However, a problem creeps in here: in the middle latitudes, during the initial growth of seedlings, there are no nettles yet. There is a way out - to prepare fertilizer from dry grass:

  • To do this, 100 g of dried nettle leaf is placed in a three-liter jar of water at room temperature;
  • The liquid should only reach the shoulders of the jar;
  • Place the container with the solution in a warm place;
  • As soon as the fermentation process begins and an unpleasant smell starts, cover the jar with plastic wrap, securing it with an elastic band on the neck of the jar;
  • This infusion should be infused for 2 weeks. It is shaken twice a day;
  • The finished solution has the smell of fresh manure.

Ready-made fertilizer for seedlings of peppers should be diluted with water, a ratio of 1 to 2, and add 2 tbsp. l. ash. Water as usual.

The process of preparing such a natural fertilizer is very long, but the resulting composition acts on pepper seedlings as a growth stimulator.

The finished composition can be stored all season in an opaque container in a cool place.

Important! Nettle sourdough for pepper seedlings must definitely stand the allotted time, otherwise it can harm the plant.

Second top dressing

The second feeding of pepper seedlings is carried out 2 weeks after the first. The difference between the second nutrient mixture and the first is that phosphorus and other macro and microelements are added to the nitrogen-potassium composition. A wide range of such fertilizers can be found on the shelves of specialized stores:

  • Kemira-Lux. For 10 liters of water you need 20 grams of fertilizer;
  • Crystal. In the same proportions;
  • Compound fertilizer from superphosphate (70 gr.) and potassium salt (30 gr.).

Purchased fertilizer for pepper seedlings can be replaced with an ash solution that contains phosphorus, potassium and other elements. Ash can be from the burning of wood, tops and plant residues, weeds. The best composition with a high content of phosphorus in the ash from the burning of hardwood.

Important! Do not throw garbage, newsprint, polyethylene and plastic into the fire for fertilizer.

Substances from their combustion pollute the earth, negatively affect plants, and are carcinogens.

According to professionals, you should not overdo it with nitrogen fertilizers. Otherwise, you can get a powerful green bush with a poor harvest. Therefore, if the soil for pepper seedlings was prepared correctly, there is humus in its composition, then nitrogen with the second top dressing will be superfluous.

The next top dressing will be necessary only after planting pepper seedlings in the ground.

Method of preparation and application of ash solution

100 g of ash is poured into a bucket of water with a capacity of 10 liters, mixed and infused for a day. Ash will not dissolve in water, but will saturate it with useful trace elements. Therefore, do not be upset when you see all the ash in the sediment. Before use, you can mix again and water the pepper seedlings.

Help for weak plants

Weakened seedlings will help watering with a special liquid. It is prepared from used tea leaves. Only loose leaf tea is suitable. Pour a glass of tea leaves with 3 liters of hot water. Infused for 5 days. Used for irrigation.

Folk methods for feeding pepper seedlings

All the methods described below, although they are folk, because they are passed from mouth to mouth, still have a scientific basis. They contain the substances necessary for nutrition, therefore they are suitable for feeding seedlings of peppers.

Yeast Growth Promoter

Yeast contains phosphorus and other useful elements in its composition, besides it is a source of nitrogen. Yeast top dressing nourishes not only the plant, but also the microorganisms that live in the soil. These organisms are useful soil microflora. The downside of this fertilizer is that it eats up potassium, so after using it, it is useful to use potash fertilizers, or just ash. It is easy to prepare such a fertilizer to feed pepper seedlings:

  1. Dry yeast - a tablespoon, pressed - 50 g must be dissolved in 3 liters of warm (not higher than 38 degrees) water, add 2-3 tablespoons of sugar.
  2. Prepared composition to insist during the day.
  3. Dilute 1 liter of the resulting fermented liquid in a bucket of water per 10 liters.
  4. Fertilize by watering.

Such top dressing is a growth stimulator of the plant itself, and not of the fruit, so it is carried out before flowering begins.

Advice! It is good to schedule an event for the second week after planting seedlings in the ground.

Green mash

Nettle often becomes the basis of such a fertilizer, but dandelion, wormwood, yarrow, tomato tops are suitable. It is better to prepare such an infusion somewhere aside, because it has a terribly unpleasant smell.

Cooking method:

  1. Gather herbs without seeds and lay on the bottom of the container. The amount of grass should be such as to fill the barrel to 1/6 of the volume.
  2. Pour warm water over the container, almost reaching the top.
  3. To speed up the fermentation process, you can add a solution of humate. For 50 liters you need to take 5 tsp.
  4. Insist 5-7 days in a warm place.
  5. The finished liquid is diluted for irrigation with water. A 10-liter bucket needs a liter of green mash.

This is the best home dressing for pepper seedlings, so use it once every 2 weeks, throughout the season.

onion happiness

Dry onion peel makes an excellent fertilizer for pepper seedlings with elements of protection against harmful microorganisms. It is necessary to pour 10 g of husks into 3 liters of warm water and leave for 3-5 days. You can replace this solution with water for watering seedlings. Onion peel contains many trace elements.

banana peel

Potash fertilizers are the main thing that needs to be fertilized with pepper seedlings during the period of fruit growth. Potassium is always needed, it is he who gives the fruits fleshiness and sweetness. The peel of a banana, like the fruit itself, contains a large amount of this element. It is dried, crushed and added to water for irrigation. Insist fresh peel in water. They burn it to ashes. Simply cut into small pieces and lay in the ground. This is a good analogue of potash fertilizer.

Energy

Potato decoction belongs to energy fertilizers. The starch found in potatoes gives pepper seedlings energy for growth and other processes. Sweet water works similarly: 2 tsp. to a glass of water.

Manure and bird droppings

Pepper seedlings react extremely negatively to nitrogen fertilizing in the form of manure infusions. Such nutrition can lead to putrefactive diseases. If the use of these infusions is the only way to supplement nitrogen, then the use of bird droppings will be better than the manure option. Preparation of fertilizer for seedlings of peppers from bird droppings:

  • 2 parts of bird droppings are diluted with one part of water;
  • Insist in a sealed container for 3 days;
  • For top dressing, dilute with water, 1 part to 10 parts of water.

The role of trace elements in nutrition

The main participants in various fertilizers are potassium, phosphorus and nitrogen. There are still a bunch of substances that take part in the life processes of pepper seedlings, but it is this trio that plays the main role.

Potassium

The main merit of this element is the beauty, sweet taste, fleshiness, health and size of the fruit. Therefore, it is necessary to lean on potash fertilizers during fruiting. But it is necessary, starting with laying the ground for seedlings of pepper. The best source besides artificial fertilizers is wood ash.

Phosphorus

Phosphorus is an active participant in all metabolic and building processes of pepper seedlings. He himself is an integral part of the greenery. Therefore, it is vital for health and resistance to adverse conditions. Again, in addition to artificial superphosphate, it is found in large quantities in ash.

Nitrogen

Nitrogen from various compounds is needed for seedlings of peppers, as a growth vitamin. The presence of nitrogen helps to grow the green mass of plants, increases productivity. Nitrogen is quickly washed out and processed by microorganisms, so it is often not enough. Excess can make the fruit dangerous, due to the high content of nitrates. These fertilizers are needed every 2 weeks in a small amount. Sources are green mash, yeast infusion, fertilizer from bird droppings.

Fertilization in a permanent place

When planting seedlings of pepper, fertilizers are laid in the holes. I must say that fertilizers for pepper seedlings are equally useful for eggplant seedlings.

Fertilizer application options:

  1. 1 st. humus can be mixed with earth and a handful of wood ash.
  2. Pour the wells with a solution of mullein, or bird droppings.
  3. Mix with earth 30 gr. superphosphate plus 15 gr. potassium chloride.

Plants planted in this way do not need to be fed for at least 2 weeks.

Conclusion

For the entire period of growth of pepper seedlings, it is enough to carry out 2 top dressings. The first is predominantly nitrogen content. Before or after picking depends on your desire. The only thing is that before picking after feeding, 2-3 days should pass. Properly prepared soil does not require frequent and abundant fertilizing. The fattening of plants, when there is an abundance of green mass in excess, indicates that it is time to go on a diet of pure water.

The choice of fertilizer for seedlings of peppers from those offered by stores, or homemade mixtures, depends entirely on the personal preferences of the vegetable grower.

How to feed pepper for a good harvest and growth?

To grow a good and juicy pepper, farmers strongly recommend using top dressing for growing this crop. You will also need to follow some rules for caring for them so that the vegetable grows faster and its fruits do not have flaws.

First of all, you will need to prepare the soil before planting seedlings in the ground. Even if gardeners use purchased land, then even before planting, top dressing should be applied to it. Fertilizers are best placed in the ground two weeks before the pepper bushes are planted. In order for it to grow normally, it is very important from the very beginning to ensure that all the necessary trace elements and minerals are present in the soil.

Mineral additives, ammonium nitrate, superphosphates, and potassium sulfate are most often used to fertilize the soil in greenhouses. It is best to use these components for soil preparation and after the pepper has begun to bear fruit.

In order for the pepper to grow strong, and the fruits to be large and juicy, fertilizers must be of high quality, applied in a timely manner and in the right amount. With proper care, the leaves will have a juicy dark green color (of course, if a certain variety does not have a number of its own characteristics). By following some rules, you can get a good harvest.

Feeding after planting

Why do you need to feed seedlings after planting? This question is very common today.

When planting young seedlings that have not yet taken root and have not adapted to new conditions, top dressing cannot be used. After two or three weeks, it is best to apply an organic top dressing that does not have concentrated chemical elements. To do this, you can use eggshells, ash or wood ash, bird droppings, herbivore manure.

After planting, two small top dressings can be done if the soil where the pepper is planted is fertile enough (without clay inclusions, stones). The first - 2-3 weeks after planting seedlings in the ground, and the second - during the appearance of the ovary on the bushes. It is better not to overdo it with chemical top dressing, as this can adversely affect the condition of the leaves and the condition of the fruit. They will have a watery taste, there will be no smell of a ripe vegetable, and this may also adversely affect the health of the person who has eaten the pepper.

As a top dressing for peppers, some gardeners use ammonia. The fact is that it includes nitrogenous compounds, which are very necessary for vegetable crops. Ammonia is added to the water, and then you can water the seedlings under the root. In addition to fertilizing the soil, ammonia is able to drive away insects with its sharp and strong smell.

Also, ammonia can quickly remove pale shades of green. Watering the ground with a solution, after a few days it will be possible to pay attention to the fact that the color of the leaves becomes more juicy and bright. This indicates that the plant is saturated with nitrogen and oxygen. Thus, the process of photosynthesis and nutrition of pepper improves. The accelerated process from the ammonia solution is explained by the fact that it is absorbed faster, unlike other forms of nitrogenous substances.

Care

The place of future planting does not have much effect on changing the method of caring for or preparing the soil. In a greenhouse, it is easier to protect seedlings from weather changes, temperature changes, wind, and rain. It is also much easier to maintain a stable level of air humidity here so that the pepper grows steadily.

Very often, novice gardeners are faced with the fact that their pepper grew poorly due to the fact that cold snaps often occurred ahead of time, so part of the crop could deteriorate. That is why the leaves begin to wither, the plant gradually leans, the stem weakens. Weather is a very important factor for the growth of this crop. You can get rid of such problems if the pepper grew in a greenhouse. This is especially true for those gardeners who live in the northern regions.

When growing pepper on open ground, it will be necessary to carefully monitor its condition, periodically spray seedlings against various pests and pathogenic microflora.

An indicator that the seedling is growing poorly or there are problems with its nutrition is the color of the leaves. If the leaves turn pale or begin to wilt, this means that more thorough care is needed. Having determined why the pepper is withering, you should fix the problem as soon as possible.

First of all, such a problem most often appears due to the fact that seedlings lack water in the soil. This vegetable is not as demanding as a cucumber, but it should also be watered and fertilized in a timely manner.

In order for the pepper to grow well, you need to water it under the root. It is advisable to do this every 3-4 days, loosening the top layer of soil when a dry crust forms.

Video “Sweet pepper in mid-June. Care, top dressing, variety of varieties "

The video tells how sweet pepper develops, how to care for pepper and how to feed it in mid-June.

Protection from pests and diseases

Of particular danger to pepper is late blight. This is a fungal type of disease that begins to develop if the correct seedling care measures are not followed. The cause of development may be a decrease in air temperature, dampness. If there are spores in the ground that have remained there since the last season (for example, after harvesting potatoes), the pepper crop will be at increased risk.

In this regard, it is desirable to use special means of directed action against the fungus. To do this, you can spray the seedlings, both in advance to prevent the development of the disease, and during the detection of the first characteristic signs.

Also, for processing, you can prepare some products based on folk recipes. The main components in the basis of these funds can be sour milk or curdled milk, manganese. Each of them allows you to prepare a separate mixture.

When using sour milk, it is enough to dilute about a liter of product in a bucket of warm water. After thorough stirring, you can insist for several hours, and then process the leaves and stems of peppers.

In addition to dangerous diseases, there are many pests that can significantly reduce the yield of pepper. They begin to eat leaves, infect the stems of seedlings. In rural areas, where vegetables are grown in large quantities, it is very important to treat pepper bushes in a timely manner to prevent this problem.

A very effective remedy against pests is ammonia. Ammonia is added to the water, then a little iodine is required to enhance the effect. Everything is thoroughly mixed, and then all seedlings are processed. Ammonia effectively fights aphids, bears, ants, midges.

Ammonia has a very pungent odor that insects do not like, and iodine additionally has an antibacterial effect. Remember that it is best to wear a mask or respirator while working, because a person may feel dizzy when inhaling a strong odor.

If you follow all the vegetable care measures so that the pepper grows quickly, you can get a rich and tasty harvest at the end of the season. And in greenhouses after it, you can plant greens.

Video "Ideal top dressing for peppers and tomatoes"

This video shows you how to prepare a top dressing for peppers, tomatoes and cucumbers from natural plant ingredients.

Sweet pepper is a representative of nightshade (along with eggplant and tomatoes). This perennial species of plant, the fruits of which are consumed both fresh and processed, is a shrub. Vegetable culture responds well to substances introduced into the soil. Peppers tolerate nitrogen and potassium especially well, but you need to be careful with chlorine - the vegetable does not like it.

What do sweet peppers like?

In general, pepper is known as a rather whimsical plant, but you should not be afraid of this and refuse to cultivate a crop. It must be remembered that it does not tolerate abundant watering, as well as a lack of water. Peppers bear fruit well when the weather is warm and sunny. Loosening the soil should be carried out carefully, since the vegetable crop has a superficial root system.

It should be remembered that such a vegetable crop as pepper loves loamy and fertile soil. The plant does not tolerate heavy soil because it is acidic. If there is such soil on the site, it should be lightened. To do this, use peat or sand, which is brought in when digging the earth. Along with this, you can add last year's organic mixtures, for example, cow dung or compost.

The composition of organic and mineral fertilizers added to the soil depends on such factors as the age of the seedlings, the vegetable variety, weather conditions. You should also understand what specific top dressing for sweet bell pepper is used for. For example, for the growth and development of a plant (before the fruit formation stage), phosphorus supplements are necessary. During the period of active formation of ovaries, pepper requires potassium. Throughout the entire period, from development and growth, and ending with flowering, vegetable crops need to be fed with calcium and nitrogen.

Did you know?
In case of prolonged cloudy weather, the amount of potash fertilizers should be increased by about 1/5 part. In the event that it is dry and sunny outside, then on the contrary, their number should be reduced by 20%.

Top dressing in the open field

When the seedlings grow to the desired size, they proceed to planting them in open ground. Peppers before this must be carefully fertilized. For these purposes, wood ash, potassium sulfate, as well as humus and superphosphates are used. To simplify the task, you can use ready-made complex fertilizer for sweet peppers, which contain a balanced amount of nutrients. Fortunately, in the 21st century, such mixtures can be easily found on the market. After planting seedlings in open ground, you should continue top dressing with a clear frequency until the stage of formation of the first fruits.

In general, when to start feeding pepper depends on factors such as planting time, volume, quantity and composition of the first fertilizer. For example, in the case of fertilizing the soil in the fall, less mineral fertilizers will be required in the spring.

Sweet peppers planted outdoors are traditionally fed every 3 weeks. Planting seedlings is carried out when the plant reaches a height of about 15-25 centimeters, as well as when buds are laid. Approximately 2.5 weeks after transplanting the vegetable crop to a permanent place, it blooms. It is during this period that the first feeding is carried out.

To do this, use stale cow dung or a solution of bird droppings diluted in water. If there are no ready-made organic fertilizers, then pepper is fertilized with a composition dissolved in warm water, from ammonium nitrate, superphosphate, and also potassium.

Useful fact

An excellent fertilizer that contains all the necessary macro and microelements is a herbal cocktail. It is very easy to make it yourself. This will require herbs such as dandelion, nettle, plantain, as well as any weeds. Plants are finely chopped and used as top dressing.

Second dressing of pepper

After two weeks, after the first application of nutrients, a second top dressing should be carried out. It occurs at the time of the formation of inflorescences, up to the moment of formation of the first fruits. If mineral products were previously used, now organic substances should be used. To do this, you can use urea, bird droppings, as well as manure from last year. The ingredients dissolve in water and infuse for a week. Top dressing is carried out as follows: five liters of liquid per square meter of land.

How to improve productivity?

We are constantly getting letters in which amateur gardeners are worried that due to the cold summer this year, a poor harvest of potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers, and other vegetables. Last year we published TIPS about this. But unfortunately, many did not listen, but some still applied. Here is a report from our reader, we want to advise plant growth biostimulantswhich will help increase the yield by up to 50-70%.

As mentioned above, peppers need various trace elements throughout the entire period of development and growth. These include phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, iodine, zinc, molydbene, manganese and boron. Foliar top dressing is an ideal way to introduce nutrients. In other words, the pepper is sprayed with a solution containing the necessary elements.

Pepper fertilizer in greenhouses

A strange fact, but peppers that are grown in a greenhouse, and not on open ground, are fed with useful substances in a completely different way. So, organic matter has a positive effect on the amount of the future crop, and minerals are responsible for the height and volume of the bushes.

When planting pepper in a greenhouse, you should adhere to the following fertilizer application scheme:

Feeding rules

There are a number of rules that must be observed when organizing top dressing for sweet pepper seedlings:

  • This vegetable crop does not tolerate fresh manure very well. The fertilizer from the year before last is best suited for these purposes.
  • Seedlings are forbidden to feed after the picking procedure, you should wait two weeks.
  • The fertilizer solution should be slightly warmer than room temperature.
  • Top dressing should be carried out carefully, avoiding falling on the stems and leaves of pepper.
  • The best time to fertilize peppers is early morning or evening after sunset.

Types of fertilizers for pepper

Mineral dressings for peppers are used only in liquid form. It is customary to dilute the powders in water at room temperature to the required consistency, after which the soil under the plant is poured with the composition, without falling on the stems and leaves. Today, various mineral mixtures can be found on the market for garden products. Experts and experienced gardeners advise purchasing complex products that have a balanced composition.

As for organic fertilizers, last year's manure and bird droppings are the best option here. This type of top dressing has a beneficial effect on the amount of the future crop and its fruitful properties. Fertilizing the soil is carried out in accordance with pre-designed schemes, so as not to overfeed the vegetable crop.

Folk remedies for fertilizers from ash and shells

Advice
If you put the prepared fertilizer next to pepper seedlings, hydrogen sulfide released into the air will have a positive effect on the plant, stimulating its development. Before making the resulting solution, the soil should be thoroughly fluffed.

How to fertilize with yeast

The introduction of yeast into the soil has a positive effect on the composition of the soil, completely rebuilding its structure. Fertilizing microorganisms contribute to the rapid growth of seedlings, as well as increase the yield of vegetable crops.

In order to prepare top dressing, you should mix the following ingredients: 10 grams of dry yeast, a bucket of water, 4 tablespoons of granulated sugar. The resulting solution is concentrated, therefore, before fertilizing the soil, it should be diluted with water in a ratio of one to ten.

Experienced gardeners sometimes replace yeast with wheat grains. To do this, they should be filled with water and left in a warm place for a day. During this time, the grains will swell, after which they must be ground into gruel and mixed with sugar. Before using fertilizers, the mass is also diluted with water in a ratio of one to ten.

Additional fertilization

Sometimes it happens that a vegetable crop requires additional fertilization in addition to the main scheme and feeding rate. This can happen when the soil is too acidic and the pepper bushes grow very slowly.

Additional feeding is carried out in accordance with the following rules:

Overfeeding the soil can adversely affect the fertility of peppers.

When fertilizing and feeding sweet peppers, you need to understand how one or another substance affects the plant, as well as what consequences can be from an overdose:

Conclusion

Pepper is undoubtedly a popular vegetable on the Russian table. It is consumed raw (added to salads), as well as processed - stewed, marinated. Thanks to its peculiar taste and useful composition, the vegetable won the love of gardeners.

Summing up, it should be noted that the feeding of such a vegetable crop as pepper has a great influence on its yield. It is important to fertilize according to the scheme and within the recommended norm, without overfeeding the soil. And remember, the plant, which was properly cared for, will surely thank you with juicy fruits.

Options for feeding peppers

And a little about the secrets of the Author

Have you ever experienced unbearable joint pain? And you know firsthand what it is:

  • inability to move easily and comfortably;
  • discomfort when going up and down stairs;
  • unpleasant crunch, clicking not of their own free will;
  • pain during or after exercise;
  • inflammation in the joints and swelling;
  • causeless and sometimes unbearable aching pain in the joints ...

Now answer the question: does it suit you? Can such pain be endured? And how much money have you already "leaked" for ineffective treatment? That's right - it's time to end this! Do you agree? That is why we decided to publish an exclusive interview with Oleg Gazmanov, in which he revealed the secrets of getting rid of joint pain, arthritis and arthrosis.

Attention, only TODAY!

Every experienced gardener is well aware that the pepper loves to eat, which means that more than anyone else needs to be fed. The quality and volume of the crop depends entirely on the care of the plant and on how correctly and thoroughly it is fertilized.

Feeding pepper seedlings

Before you plant a vegetable, you need to prepare the soil. Peat compost is best suited for this - 3-4 kg per 1 sq. m of soil. It can also be fertilized with straw and nitrogen supplements.

The earth should be well loosened, as peppers are very fond of such soil and grow better in it. If the soil is filled with air, the roots are easily saturated with oxygen, which stimulates the overall development of the plant, respectively, it begins to grow faster. Also, in the soil saturated with oxygen, beneficial microorganisms work more actively, providing the plant with the necessary nutrition.

The next step in baiting peppers involves adding nutrients to the earthen holes just before placing the seedlings in them.

  1. A very useful mixture of organics and minerals, consisting of 200-300 g of humus or peat, 5-10 g of superphosphate and the same amount of potassium salt.
  2. A mixture of 30-40 g of superphosphate and 15 g of potassium chloride per 1 sq. soil meter.
  3. A mixture of 30-40 g of superphosphate for one glass of ordinary wood ash.
  4. Mix 0.5 liters of mullein and 10 liters of water, heat the mixture to 35 degrees and pour about 1 liter into each hole.

Feeding peppers after planting

During the summer season, peppers need to be fertilized quite often. It all depends on the condition and fertility of the soil, so you can spend about three to five top dressings. And what substances do peppers need the most during different periods of growth?

  • This plant needs nitrogen most of all before the beginning of the flowering period and during fruit ripening. Its disadvantage is shown to the gardener by green upper leaves with a pale tint and yellowed or dead lower ones.
  • In phosphorus, pepper has the greatest need when it is just beginning to develop and the not yet fully developed root system is not able to ensure its full supply from the soil.
  • Potassium is most needed by the plant from the moment of setting until the very end of fruit ripening.
  • But at the end of summer, when the fruits begin to actively form, he most of all needs water. Insufficient moisture dramatically reduces the yield. Depending on air temperature and rainfall, plants should be watered once a week and a half. It is necessary to stop watering 1.5-2 weeks before harvest.

Fertilizers must be dissolved in the water with which you water the peppers, but it is better not to overdo it, because all excess fertilizers will settle in the fruits in the form of nitrates.
The solution of water and fertilizers should be warm - 22-24 ° C. Each bush usually takes a liter of solution.

They begin to feed the pepper in 1.5-2 weeks after the seedlings are in the ground, and so on throughout the entire growth period. The plant is already fairly well settled in the soil, and the roots are looking for useful and nutritious substances.

The secret to a great harvest: top dressing of vegetable crops

Top dressing of pepper growing in the open field

  1. For the first feeding, you can take 10 g of urea and 5 g of superphosphate, dilute this into a ten-liter bucket of water. After stirring the solution well, carefully pour it 1 liter under each seedling, trying not to get on the leaves.
  2. The second top dressing can be done at the time of tying up and the beginning of the ripening of the first buds. Since at this moment the plants most of all feel the lack of potassium, you need to take it in the amount of 1 tsp, add the same amount of urea and 2 tbsp. l. superphosphate, stir it all in a bucket of water and pour a liter of solution under each seedling.
  3. Next time you can fertilize as soon as the first beautiful peppers ripen. In a bucket of water, you need to dilute 2 tsp. superphosphate and the same amount of potassium salt. Water the resulting mixture in the same way as the first two times.

Infused young nettle with the addition of minerals feeds the pepper very well. Fill the container with nettles to the top and fill with water. She needs to brew for a week, and then fermentation will begin. When the nettle goes down (about a couple of days after the start of fermentation), the resulting liquid can be filtered and a small amount of mineral fertilizers added. Such an infusion is completely harmless, if you do not add minerals, you can water the plants with it every 10 days.

Top dressing of pepper in greenhouses

The schemes growing in the open air and in greenhouses are different from each other, so you need to feed them in a greenhouse a little differently.

  1. The first time the plants should be fed on the 15th day from the moment they were planted in the ground. You need to take bird droppings and clean water in a ratio of 1:15. Add mullein with clean water in a ratio of 1:10. All this must be mixed and each bush should be poured with 1 liter of the resulting mixture.
  2. The second time they feed after flowering. It is necessary, just like the first time, to dilute the mullein with water and you can additionally add mineral fertilizers.
  3. Repeatedly the same top dressing should be carried out immediately, as soon as the first crop ripens.

Another top dressing can be carried out only if the soil is too depleted. For the preparation of fertilizer take superphosphate and minerals.

If you follow all the rules for caring for pepper, water it in time and indulge in healthy top dressing, then you will find a plentiful, solid, juicy and very tasty harvest.
