You can access your mailbox from any device connected to the Internet. To do this, type in the browser address bar, enter your Yandex username and password and click the Login button. If you are using two-factor authentication, you need the one generated by the Yandex.Key application for authorization.

Note. If you accessed the Internet from someone else's device and do not want the browser to remember your username and password, use incognito mode in the browser.

Note. Yandex needs access to your social network profile in order to connect it to your mail. Yandex will not perform any actions with the profile without your knowledge.

Switching between boxes

If you use several Yandex mailboxes, you can switch between them without entering your username and password:

You can choose an account in Mail, Passport, and other Yandex services that support this feature. The selected account is considered the main one: with it you will be authorized on services that do not yet support switching.

You can add up to 15 accounts to the list. To remove an account from the list, switch to it and follow the link Exit . The current account will disappear from the list and you will automatically switch to the next one.

To remove multiple accounts from the list, follow the link Add user, tap the icon in the upper left corner, and tap the icon to the right of the account you want to remove.

Exit mailbox

Open the account menu in the upper right corner of the screen and click the Sign Out button.

If you forgot to sign out of Mail on someone else's device, open the page and in the block Login history and devices click link Sign out on all devices.

Attention. For subsequent access to Yandex services, you will need to re-enter your login and password on each device.

How do I change my password or security question answer?

To change your password on Yandex, open the account menu in the upper right corner of the screen and click the Change password button.

On the page that opens, enter your current password and twice a new one to confirm the correct entry. Enter the characters from the picture and click the Save button.

It somehow happened that GMail has long been recognized as the leader in this segment of communication services, which, I must say, is quite fair, given the opportunities that this Google mail service offers. However, Yandex Mail gives it a worthy competition.

In order not to be unfounded, below I will try to touch on all the most useful and important components of the Yandex Mail functionality (which, I must say, is very extensive), including security, working with letters, a built-in translator, changing themes and a whole bunch of other useful features. If you are patient, you will learn about all the nuances below.

How to create Yandex mail

On the Internet, the postal services market has long assumed serious competition, and Runet is no exception. Along with GMail, big online services like Rambler and Mail.ru, which I used to use myself, have their share of the pie.

Free worldwide e-mail Yandex, of course, is not yet an absolute favorite, however, it shows very high rates of development even in comparison with such monsters as Yahoo Mail, which, by the way, is not particularly popular in the Russian-speaking segment.

In the course of competition, postal services try to keep up with the times, all the time providing new opportunities. The main criteria that allow us to meet modern requirements to the maximum, probably, can be considered simplicity, user-friendliness of the interface, security and readiness to promptly fulfill the wishes of users.

All these advanced developments are fully inherent in the Yandex mail service, as I will try to convince you in the course of today's story. By the way, one of its most useful chips can rightfully be considered the ability to create mail for the domain, which we will certainly discuss in more detail in future publications.

How to register in Yandex Mail and create a mailbox

By the way, if you have your own e-mail box, you will simultaneously get access to all the numerous Yandex services (), which is one of the decisive advantages. Therefore, to create an account, the easiest way is to go directly from the main page Yandex.ruby clicking on the link "Get Mail" in the upper right corner:

You may also have to sweat a little over the formation of the login, since Yandex Mail has a huge number of registered users and, perhaps, the username you want is already taken, which you will be immediately notified of when you try to enter it.

At the same time, the form filling wizard will issue a small list of still free logins, of which you will probably like some. If not, then go through your options until a green checkmark appears in front of the corresponding column, which means that the login you have chosen is free.

Further, I strongly advise you to enter your mobile phone number, especially if the mailbox you create is planned as an important part of correspondence with business partners or incoming letters will contain strictly confidential information. With the help of a registered phone, it will be easier to restore access to your account in the event of an unexpected force majeure.

In this case, you need to enter the mobile phone number with the country code at the beginning (since I live in Estonia, the screenshot above shows +372 as an example, for Russia, as you probably know, this is +7), and then click on the button "Get code" and enter the code digits received by SMS in the field that appears. This will confirm that you are the owner of the number.

And further. Before clicking on the "Register" button, I want to draw your attention to one more important point. You must decide for yourself whether you will create Yandex Wallet as your payment system. Since the matter concerns the financial aspect, you confirm this option separately or refuse it by unchecking the box, which is activated by default (previous screenshot).

If, for some reason, you do not want to show your mobile phone number or your email is not intended for receiving archival correspondence, then proceed in the old fashioned way, namely, click the link "I do not have a phone" and choose a security question from the drop-down menu, to which you can enter any answer (there is also an option for your own question):

At the end of these gestures (it doesn’t matter which option you chose, with or without a phone number), click on the registration button, after which the process will enter the final phase.

Mailbox options in Yandex

The system will first redirect you to Passport Yandex page, where you can make settings for your entire account. Here you will find a whole list of different email options. mail (aliases) with the same login that was specified during registration (in the example in the screenshot, this is “goldbusinessnetcom”). These addresses differ only in the content of the second part after the @ dog symbol (yandex.ru, yandex.ua, ya.ru, etc.):

A significant part of them belongs to different domain zones (after all, Yandex works not only in Runet), corresponding to certain states: Russia (.ru), Belarus (.by), Ukraine (.ua), Kazakhstan (.kz), Estonia (. ee), and so on.

This is done so that it is impossible to use the same login when registering, regardless of the user's territorial affiliation, which would create confusion. According to this scheme, for example, mailboxes " [email protected]" and " [email protected]” will not belong to different persons, but to one (and it doesn’t matter where it is registered from).

Don't worry, it won't cause you any inconvenience. You can use any e-mail, all the same, all letters will be available for each of them. It will also not be superfluous to indicate your mobile phone number, which will later be useful in case of restoring the entire account, if for some reason you lose control over it. All these actions will certainly increase the level of protection, however, we will talk about security separately.

If, after some time after registration, you decide create a new mail on Yandex, then you can do it by repeating the above procedure. Formally, the number of created accounts for personal needs is not limited, so you can open several accounts at once.

However, the following should be kept in mind here. If you link the same mobile phone number to a new profile every time in order to increase its protection, then you will not be able to create more than 10 boxes. If you need more, you will have to specify other numbers.

Of course, without linking phones, there are no restrictions on the number of mailing addresses at all, but in this case, new additional accounts will not receive maximum protection. Therefore, carefully weigh all the pros and cons of this or that option.

How to enter your page and log out of your account

After registration, you can log in both from the main web page and from the Yandex Mail page (I remind you that when you log in, you get access to all services at once):

The “Alien computer” checkbox is provided for those cases when you decide to log into your account from a device that you do not control on a permanent basis. If you check the box, then this makes it possible to log in only until the browser is closed, after which the session will be completed. Be sure to take advantage of this opportunity to increase security.

After you click the "Login" button, you will be taken to inbox page, where you will see a service interface with the necessary options and, of course, a complete list of incoming emails. Naturally, it simply does not make sense to fully describe the functionality of this mail service, but here are the most important and interesting, in my opinion, features and settings that make reading and parsing correspondence easier, I will definitely note further.

Switching between mailboxes (login to mail via login)

If you have several Yandex mailboxes in active use, then you can easily switch between them by logging in to each of them only once.

First you need to log in to one of the accounts, and then to profile menu, which is located in the upper right corner of any page of the Mail interface, add others (click on the plus, and then each time sequentially enter the login and password of the desired account):

All e-mail boxes can be opened in adjacent tabs. Even after closing a tab, you will remain authorized in the corresponding account (and will be able to return to it essentially through a login without entering a password) until the moment you intentionally exit or clear cookies in the browser. An extremely handy feature that allows you to avoid having to log out of one account each time to log into another.

Purposeful exit from your Yandex mail account is carried out from the same profile menu, in which there is an item "Exit Yandex services":

How to recover a password from Yandex mail

And now let's analyze the situation when the password from the mail account is forgotten or lost. At these words, perhaps you will be thrown into a shiver. Especially if, as you think, the most important business correspondence and other related information can be lost. But in fact, everything is fixable, and the password can be recovered. Similar cases are also provided, therefore, in the authorization form there is a link “I can’t log in”:

It must be said that Spam Defense learns on its own and it is on the basis of the content and addresses of the senders of letters marked in this way by users that it will automatically send such correspondence to Spam in the future.

How to unsubscribe from newsletters

Of course, spammers are one thing and those who correctly use the mailing list as an e-mail marketing tool, following all the rules, are quite another. One of the main requirements is that each mailing letter has the ability to unsubscribe from it:

But usually, for this, the user has to follow a link to third-party sites. Yandex has introduced a very useful feature that allows you to unsubscribe from the mailing list with one click on the button of the same name, which appears in the toolbar on the open letter page:

But this only applies to legal messages that contain an unsubscribe link, while messages with spam elements usually do not have such a link, and therefore there is no way to use the Yandex button. For spam, there are more radical methods (the Spamo Defense I mentioned, coupled with the active actions of the users themselves).

What else is useful in the functionality of Yandex Mail

In the final section of this manual, we will consider those chips and utilities that have so far remained, so to speak, behind the scenes, but the use of these can greatly facilitate the work with correspondence in general.

For example, I want to draw your attention to the fact that at the very top of the Yandex Mail interface there are links "Contacts", "Calendar", "Disk" and "Money". It is these Yandex services that are very often most in demand in conjunction with Mail, so users get easy access to them, although from the menu next to it, by clicking on the button with three horizontal stripes, you can call up a list of all significant services to go to:

Login via social network

Recently, the system introduced another possibility to log into the account - through social networks: Vkontakte, Facebook, Twitter, Toy World, Google and Odnoklassniki. If you have a contact database that you do not want to manually re-enter into "Contacts", you can import it using a special file with the ".csv" or "vCard" extension.

Working with letters and the nuances of mail
