Private residential schools. Foreign boarding schools for girls. A program of additional education, including the development of the creative individual abilities of pupils and the cadet component: drill training and the basics of medical knowledge

In single-sex schools, education is conducted in small classes. Here is the highest percentage of the ratio of the number of teachers to the number of students. Girls are taught high school programs, language programs and are prepared for university. There are compulsory subjects and a number of disciplines to choose from.

Private boarding schools for girls combine an individual approach with rules for raising young ladies. Students of such institutions more often become leaders, and it is easier for them to achieve success in their chosen profession. To achieve maximum academic performance, both traditional and modern teaching methods are used. For example, the Swiss school is a member of the Bellevue Education association of schools, where an impressive part of the investment goes to modern equipment and the best teachers.

The result is serious academic achievements. Thus, in 2016, 64% of British school students passed the GCSE secondary school exam with the highest scores A*/A. Also, the authoritative publication The Times noted the outstanding results of schoolgirls from.

While realizing the goals and objectives of cadet education, we try not to lose the basic feminine qualities of our students. For this purpose, the concept of education in a cadet school - a boarding school for girls - was developed, the implementation of which takes place according to three programs.

1. Program of civil and military-patriotic education.

The main attention in the education of cadets is paid to the military-patriotic direction. The taking of the cadet's Solemn Oath takes place at the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War on Poklonnaya Hill.

Pupils meet during courage lessons with WWII veterans, heroes of Russia, internationalist soldiers, and visited the sacred places of our Motherland - the hero cities of St. Petersburg, Volgograd, Kursk, Belgorod.

The pupils showed excellent drill training during a ceremonial march through Red Square on November 7, 2006, dedicated to the anniversary parade of November 7, 1941.

The following actions have become traditional:

  • concerts and targeted assistance to veterans of the Great Patriotic War,
  • warriors - veterans and disabled people who were wounded in zones of military conflicts;
  • "Memory Watch";
  • inviting veterans of all wars to the Victory Day holiday.

Pupils of the cadet boarding school "MPGV" are active participants in patriotic events held by government bodies, the public and veteran organizations, laureates of military-patriotic song festivals of 2004-2007, winners of sports competitions dedicated to Defender of the Fatherland Day.

To ensure high-quality practical field training on the basics of military service, students annually go to the cadet health and educational camp “Patriot”, where they learn drill and fire training in practice.

To deepen the students’ understanding of the basics of military service, military discipline and organization, the “Combat Training” course was introduced.

2. A program for the formation of an intellectually, morally, culturally and spiritually developed personality.

To express musical and creative abilities, in order to instill interest in the art of music, for the further development of spirituality as a personality trait, the following circle classes have been introduced:

"Vocals" And "Choral Singing" They form primary skills in performing vocal works, and also foster a sense of collectivism and responsibility, and teach interaction in joint creativity.

"Piano" develops musical taste, the ability to listen and perceive classical piano and symphonic music, cultivates a love for folk music, the work of Russian classical composers, Soviet composers, and the best representatives of foreign music.

To develop children's coordination of movements, body plasticity, endurance, dexterity, musicality, rhythm, a sense of self-confidence, familiarization with world culture, and the formation of aesthetic ideals based on mastering the art of choreography, the following clubs have been introduced:

  • "Folk dance";
  • "Variety Dance";
  • "Historical ballroom dancing".

Classes in the theater club develop the individual creative abilities of pupils, develop the skills of dialogical and monologue speech, and expand their knowledge in the field of literature.

Dance art teaches a person beauty. Moreover, this is not only the beauty of movements, but also the beauty of appearance, an important element of which (especially for a woman) is the hairstyle. The goal of mastering the primary skills of the art of creating a hairstyle is the “Crazy Curl” group.

Decorative and applied art is a special world of artistic creativity; the area of artistic objects created over the centuries-old history of human development is infinitely diverse. Introducing children to three forms of artistic activity: visual, decorative and constructive is the main goal of the applied direction of additional education, in which circles operate:

  • "Fine Arts";
  • "Young Gardener";
  • "Press Center".

To improve health, develop motor and intellectual potential, and increase the level of physical and psychological qualities of those involved in accordance with their age capabilities, the following sports clubs have been introduced:

  • "Martial arts";
  • "Fencing";
  • "Volleyball";
  • "Tennis";
  • "Athletics";
  • "Skis",
  • "Swimming".

The areas included in the plan of additional education make it possible to achieve the following tasks:

Compensate for the absence of certain training courses in the basic plan. With a minimum number of hours per subject in the basic plan, strengthen this subject with hours of additional education.

To create a “situation of success” in the self-realization and self-determination of each student based on the traditions of the cadet women’s movement, taking into account the modern requirements of the time.

3. A program of additional education, including the development of the creative individual abilities of pupils and the cadet component: drill training and the basics of medical knowledge.

The same program includes clubs in which girls acquire the skills of a “skillful housewife” and learn the basics of family relationships.
The general education program of secondary general education provides additional in-depth training for female students in general education and cadet subjects.

To strengthen students' basic knowledge, the following club activities are included:
"Informatics" expands students' ideas about the possibilities of using a modern computer.

"My Moscow" immerses the child in the world of history of his native land, increasing his knowledge about the capital of our Motherland throughout the centuries-old history of the city.

"Psychotechnics of communication" teaches skills of mutual understanding and communication with peers, people around them, and social adaptation in society.

Mugs "Literary Lounge" And "Linguistics" strengthen the subject area "Philology» , allowing students to develop their creative abilities.

There is Hogwarts in Moscow, and it is part of the Russian Ministry of Defense. It all begins, as a rule, at the age of ten with an unexpected letter. You can get here only because of your origin; almost no one knows about this school, and what is considered to be the best teachers teach here.

“One fine day in February 2008, dad returned from work and said: “The telegram arrived today.” We didn’t really have the Internet yet,” graduate Tanya, who eight years ago lived with her family in a military town in the Far East, chatters, throwing her long hair from shoulder to shoulder with a practiced gesture and stirring coffee with marshmallows. - It was reported that a cadet corps for girls was being opened in Moscow. The first intake is 180 people, the criteria are very strict: the average score is not lower than 4.7, perfect health, girls only from the outback, fathers are officers, heroes of Russia or fought in Chechnya. Dad asks: “Do you want it? If you pass, you will get a start in life, because this is Moscow.”Tanya has big eyes, thin wrists with bracelets and mobile facial expressions - when she frowns, her forehead touchingly curls into the likeness of an inverted comma. At twenty-two, she is simultaneously studying for a master's degree, working as an administrator in a beauty salon and running an amateur PR agency: together with her friends, makeup artists and photographers, she arranges shoots in which she herself also acts as a model.

Tanya is one of the first graduates of the Boarding School for Students of the Ministry of Defense. A closed school for girls was founded eight years ago; eight and a half hundred people from all over Russia study there. Upon entering fifth grade, girls spend seven years in the boarding school. It’s like in a monastery - you can only go out into the city on an organized excursion with teachers, once a month on leave or going home on vacation . “I come from a military family, I’ve moved so many times: as soon as you get used to it, find new friends, dad comes and says: “We’re being transferred,” we pack our things the day before and leave for another city. I thought there wouldn't be a problem. But this is the toughest thing that has happened in my life.", says Tanya.

KVN

Hogwarts of the Ministry of Defense is located behind a solid brick fence on the territory between Dynamo and Begovaya. Inside the building is yellow, there are gazebos, exemplary lawns and a fountain. A notice at the checkpoint prohibits bringing laptops into the area. Groups of identically dressed girls of different ages walk between the buildings. “Hello! - they say. - Hello! - Hello! - Hello!" The rules of the boarding house require that every student must greet any adult passing by, so in the five minutes of travel from the checkpoint to the assembly hall, I manage to say “Hello” in return several dozen times. However, there seem to be few outside adults here: neither parents nor friends are allowed outside the fence.

Journalists must be accredited by the Ministry of Defense. The formal basis in my case is the qualifying round of the cadet KVN: they came to the boarding school to visit the studentsSuvorovites from Moscow, Tver and Kazan, as well as students Moscow Military Music School. All, of course, boys.

“How do we compare favorably with others? “We are the only team that wore makeup today,” the boarding school students joke from the stage. “Well, we hope!”

Participants joke mainly about sleep, food and selfie sticks. From time to time, the incomprehensible word “uval” is heard from the stage. As eighth-grader Arina explains to me in the hallway, this means “dismissal.” Only if the cadets go to the “Uvaly” every Sunday, the boarding school students go once a month. At the entrance, the girl must be met by her parents or a trusted person and nine hours later brought to the same place. After school, Arina wants to enter a military university, but for now she works as a journalist on the school TV channel; not so long ago she interviewed cosmonaut Leonov, who came to the boarding school. The press secretary of the boarding house, Taisiya, looms over Arina. Conversations with students are permitted only in her presence. “For violating the rule,” the press secretary warns with a bloodthirsty smile, “it will not be her who will have problems, but the editors.”

How do you conduct the uvals? - I ask Arina.

I meet my parents and we go to some shopping center.

So! What other shopping center? Under no circumstances should this be written. We go to museums and theaters,” Taisiya hisses.

What's wrong with going to the mall? - I ask.

Not allowed. A military institution, everything is strictly according to regulations.“They change their panties here according to a schedule,” Taisiya confidentially tells me, not at all embarrassed by Arina’s presence. , after which, in full accordance with Vyazemsky’s phrase that the severity of laws in Russia is moderated by their failure to comply, suddenly disappears without a trace, giving me complete freedom of action.

However, without a supervising eye, the smiles of the pupils do not become less sincere, and the stories do not become less cheerful. Yes, it is very difficult to apply: you need to take Russian, English and mathematics and pass an interview with a psychologist.Yes, training is completely free. Yes, all graduates go to university. No, there are almost no quarrels.Yes, the discipline is tough, but there are many clubs and it’s interesting to study. The punishment for misconduct is deprivation of dismissal or expulsion, but the girls cannot remember a single such case: “Behavior does not suffer.”

Can you hang a poster on the wall in your room?

Yes, there is a special magnetic board above the table. Well... If it's not the first floor. We have a demonstration building, and it must be perfectly clean because guests come.

Charter

According to the stories of its graduates, the daily routine at the Boarding School for female students of the Ministry of Defense is structured like this. Getting up, breakfast, after breakfast - formation, where the appearance of the students is checked. It is forbidden to wear makeup, or to let your hair down or put it in a ponytail - you are required to wear braids. “If a rumor gets around that one of the bosses is in formation, everyone gets angry, especially those who have a manicure, and immediately hide.”

The state pays for everything, from pens and notebooks to laptops and air tickets home twice a year.In the rooms, girls live in pairs, two rooms - a block, each block has two toilets, a bathroom and a separate dressing room. The boarding house also provides the pupils with clothing, from tights and sportswear to down jackets and ball gowns. There are a lot of things: a separate set for each day of the week. The pupils are completely freed from everyday worries: bags of dirty clothes are handed over to the ground floor and received clean the next day by lunchtime.

When girls return from the “Uvals”, their bags are inspected at the checkpoint for prohibited items.

The food is healthy. “Almost the country’s chief nutritionist came and looked at what was left on our plates, what we were eating and what we weren’t eating.” Potatoes are given in the form of mashed potatoes on holidays. Pasta “never happened at all”; instead there are zucchini, eggplant or stewed cabbage. Chips, crackers, condensed milk, and mayonnaise are prohibited: when girls return from the “Uvals,” their bags are inspected at the checkpoint for prohibited items.

After lunch - additional classes: a choice of theater studio, vocal, dancing, swimming, equestrianism, tennis, football, figure skating with ex-world champions and yoga. Almost every week there are trips to museums and theaters, plus meetings with interesting people: over the eight years of operation of the boarding house, celebrities from Putin to Vika Gazinskaya and Ksenia Sobchak have visited here (Sergei Shoigu is traditionally considered a favorite guest).

Girls from primary school receive mobile phones in the evening for a couple of hours - the rest of the time the equipment is with the teachers. From the tenth grade they stop taking away phones. Access to Wi-Fi and social networks is limited after lights out.

Communication with the opposite sex is also strictly regulated: students from military schools are brought to the boarding house for joint events like KVN, and discos are held several times a season. The culmination of communication is designed in a fairy-tale-romantic spirit: a ball for which dances are learned all year long.“Getting a ball gown is pure joy. There’s a whole room of them, you stand there like a princess.” The only way to go on a date with a boy before leaving boarding school is to do so during dismissal (if your parents or trusted adult allow it).

The only way to go on a date with a boy before leaving boarding school is to do it during dismissal

On Saturdays, during political information classes, girls assigned by the teacher briefly recount the news of the week. They talk a lot about patriotism at the boarding school, but they don’t set up graduates for a mandatory military career - rather, they say that they “should grow up to be good mothers, worthy wives and generally educated people.” In recent years, 10-15% of girls have gone to military universities.

Reality

The stories of the graduates about the tricks they had to go to in order to overcome prohibitions would be like a full-fledged play for the Theatre.Doc. The play will be anonymous - most girls still value their relationships with teachers and educators and regularly come to the boarding school.

1. “They took your clothes, there’s not enough sweets. Something always needs to be done. You can't sit down and ask, "Don't touch me, please." Only at night or while you are in the shower. But if you were in the bathroom for a long time, this is already explanatory. I wrote explanatory notes for everything. I had a stack like this. I put on my shoes - explanatory. After lights out I was furious - explanatory. We watched a movie at night - explanatory. We've already joked about who has the most. Even if you put on a short skirt on dismissal, they will certainly tell you: “You’re a student, how can you!”

2. “There were rarely discos. Of course, we got ready, tried to somehow put on makeup unnoticed - you can’t go to a disco either. It’s light outside, the music is different, in general, a specific spectacle. It happened that for all tenth grades - we had a cycle of 100 people - they would bring fifteen unfortunate cadets. Thin, small. It wasn't very great. I personally did not welcome communication with the cadets: it seemed to me that the relationship was doomed, there was no point in seeing each other once a month. In addition, they live in a barracks of twenty people, discussing and sharing all the details. But this did not bother many, as soon as the boy appeared: “Oh, we need to communicate quickly.” Novels, calls, text messages, as soon as lights out, life immediately begins. We came to the checkpoint, some flowers, some chocolates. Some people even managed to kiss at discos, but this was strictly monitored, and everything was sorted out later during the formation. There was another case: a Suvorov soldier came up to the boarding house on his leave, called from downstairs, the girl looked out the window, because of this they made such a fuss!”

3. “You go out with your girlfriends on Sunday, everyone in the same clothes. In the subway everyone is looking at us, whispering: “Boarding school? Not a boarding school? The glances are sideways, it’s offensive. Now all the stalls have been demolished, but before there was a stall on a stall near the metro. And the thought occurred to me: why not meet a girl in some stall, change into your clothes somewhere in the bushes, leave her things and calmly go for a walk, like a free person? It was so scary the first time! We approached the girl, she was selling fruits and vegetables near Begovaya, her name was Marina. We say: “We are from a boarding house” - “Yes, I see you often, you are the same.” - “Can we leave the jackets with you and pick them up in the evening?” She first: “How so?” - “Well, just like that, quietly. The main thing is to hide it so that no one takes it, otherwise they will kill us for state things.” In general, Marina became her own person, every Sunday she had bags with blue jackets, all signed. We brought her sweets and chocolates in gratitude.”

4. “Everyone from dismissal brought forbidden food - they hid it in their boots, and sewed them into secret pockets. Fantasy worked in this regard. When they told us that they were checking the dormitory buildings - and they were completely inspected, clothes in the closets were sorted out - they took them with them to classes in their briefcases, so that, God forbid, they would not be found. At the end of the month, supplies ran out. The most annoying thing is when someone gets chickenpox, for example, quarantine begins, and for three months in a row you can stay in a boarding house without leaving. But nothing, you sit and endure. Each of us understood that this is a difficult educational institution, we are special, since you study here, it is your choice.”

5. “In the boarding house you always dream: it’s evening, I’d like to go for a walk, you envy those who are free. And now you think: how good it was, they will feed you and clothe you, but now you have to do everything yourself. What was the most unusual thing about leaving the boarding house? There are no such sad faces there as in the rest of Moscow. The boarding house is a separate country, the grass is always green there, the sun is shining, everyone is friendly. Usually you don't see rudeness. And the streets of Moscow are full of it.”

Elite of Russia

“I called my mother every day for the first six months. There’s a seven-hour difference from Khabarovsk, it’s three o’clock in the morning, and I’m sobbing: “take me away from here,” Tanya shares her experiences with enthusiasm, like a person talking about trials long ago and triumphantly overcome. She is more outspoken than other graduates: partly due to her character, partly because she graduated a long time ago and has already managed to graduate from the university with honors.

Why do girls and their parents need all this?

There is one more rule, which the press secretary of the boarding house warns about from the door: you cannot ask the pupils about their families. The risk of touching a nerve is too great: the school is primarily designed for the daughters of military men from distant garrisons and those whose fathers died in military conflicts in recent years. The fact that the boarding school is the only accessible social elevator is clearly explained to the girls during their enrollment: “You will become the elite of Russia and will carry this title throughout your life” - and then they repeat it so many times that the girls themselves begin to believe it. Restrictions on freedom within this logic turn out to be a necessary condition and a symbol of one’s own exclusivity. Everyone is proud of the boarding house, and sooner or later the words “elite”, “unique place”, “rare chance” will flash in everyone’s speech. In a word, the same Hogwarts - only specific, in Moscow.

Preparing for classes in the hostelPhoto: Mikhail Japaridze/TASS

“When I graduated from the boarding school, I was faced with the fact that I ran out of classes at three o’clock in the afternoon, and I don’t understand: what should I do? - Tanya continues. - Previously, the day was always scheduled. At first I tried to perceive it as a vacation, and then I realized that I needed to organize some kind of movement. You’re already bored with life, you need to constantly be somewhere, develop, I have not one job, but two, and I’m also studying for a master’s degree. And in reality, Moscow doesn’t believe in tears: no one will feel sorry for you, no one will pat you on the head, I myself learned this Moscow anti-sympathy... People who slow you down - you need to refuse them, and, on the contrary, strive for people from whom you can learn. In Khabarovsk, too, I only have two friends left, but both of them have an active life position: one bought a car, got her license, the other completed a makeup course, and will give many a head start in Moscow. When I come to my city, I see that the people there are softer, they have a measured life, they are kinder. I'm not like that. I think so - why is she whining, she can go and do everything herself: learn, earn money. Thanks to the boarding house, I was in all the museums, saw all the performances, I can carry on a conversation about the theater, I saw Putin when he came to the boarding house, I asked Serdyukov a question personally. Yes, I even know how to hold a fork and what kind of knife to eat. Why could I do it, but you can’t?”

Thank you for reading to the end!

There were many options: “inferior”, “mentally retarded”, “lonely”, “sad”, “unhappy”, “destitute”, etc. Only one girl stood out from the crowd with statements: “brilliant,” “gifted,” “special.” During the discussion, it turned out that she herself studied in a specialized mathematical boarding school.

Obviously, most of the answers were associated with boarding schools for orphans, children with mental disabilities and children with serious health problems: the hearing impaired, the visually impaired, and those with cerebral palsy.

But this opinion is wrong. Quite healthy, financially secure, intelligent and talented schoolchildren also study in boarding schools. Why there and not in a regular school? The point is a special form of education, which distinguishes boarding schools - the child spends here not only days, but also nights. It’s like a five-day day in kindergarten: parents bring their son or daughter to school on Monday and pick them up on Friday evening. You can also stay there for the weekend. The reasons for such a study schedule are different. And there are several types of boarding schools.

For the rich and busy - private boarding schools

One of them is private boarding schools. They are very reminiscent of the “closed” boarding schools that existed in Soviet times. Access there was closed to mere mortals; the student population consisted of children of diplomats and other specialists working abroad. Not all countries had their own schools at the USSR embassy, and going to local educational institutions was prohibited for ideological reasons. So parents left their school-age children in Russia. In the absence of caring grandparents, the children ended up in a special boarding school.

If funds allow, any child can be enrolled in modern boarding schools. There are plenty of busy dads and moms earning money 24/7 today. Parents simply physically do not have the time or energy to give their child due attention. And in a private boarding school, the child is supervised, grows up, and studies in good, almost home-like conditions. Children whose parents live in another city or country also often study in boarding schools.

There are no special innovations in the routine. During the day - lessons. After lunch - rest, walks, excursions, visiting clubs, sports sections. Additional classes and specialized training are possible - foreign languages, legal or economic cycle, mathematical and natural science specialization, etc.

How to get there?

You need to conclude an agreement with the school and pay for your stay at the boarding house. Some private institutions provide subject testing. It is especially common among high school students: the school takes upon itself the obligation to enter a university. Therefore, children are selected whose knowledge base will allow them to quickly prepare them for the declared institute. But if a tenth grade student is still at odds with , then even the most ingenious preparation will not “reach” him in a year to the level of the Faculty of Economics or Mechanics and Mathematics of Moscow State University.

“Brilliant”, “gifted”, “special” - remember the epithets mentioned at the beginning? It is for such children that boarding schools with special educational conditions have been created. However, since 1988, many of them have been renamed into specialized educational and scientific centers (STSC). In each class of such a boarding school there are several winners of Russian educational Olympiads; most of the graduates enter the “difficult” faculties of the supervising universities. The most famous institution of physics, mathematics and chemistry is the A.N. Kolmogorov School at Moscow State University. M.V. Lomonosov.

You can be talented, especially gifted, not only in mathematics, physics, etc. This group of boarding schools also includes sports and choreography schools.

The class schedule is different from the usual - there are special programs here. Lessons do not end, say, at exactly one o'clock, but may continue with breaks in the afternoon. And in Olympic reserve schools, children train almost all day before major competitions. The kids go to their parents for the holidays. The rest of the time is spent within the walls of the boarding school.

The boarding schools “for smart people and smart girls” recruit students from all over the country: not only Moscow is rich in talent. For example, the same School A.N. Kolmogorov accepts young Russian citizens into the tenth and eleventh grades, regardless of their place of residence.

Formally, any specialized boarding school provides general secondary education. In fact, often all efforts are aimed at developing children according to their profile. It is no secret that most graduates of sports boarding schools are not strong in mathematics and literature. Teachers advise sending only those children whose future will definitely be connected with a specific direction to specialized boarding schools. After ballet school, only a few manage to enroll in a regular university. If for some reason: illness, loss of physical shape, etc., a ballet career does not work out, the young talent goes “nowhere”. It is very difficult to adapt to ordinary life, hence many broken destinies.

How to get there?

Pass the entrance tests. Children in sports boarding schools are usually recruited from among secondary school students who study in sections.

Not only good physical data is required, but also experience in a particular sport. The highest level is the Olympic reserve schools, where they train professional athletes. You will have to fight for the right to become a student at such an institution. Especially if the choice fell on a mass sport - football, hockey, gymnastics, volleyball or basketball. Only those who can realistically rise to the level of the youth team and higher are accepted.

To enter the department of choreographic art of the Moscow State Academy of Choreography, you need to pass a creative competition. Students are admitted to the secondary school at the Moscow State Academy of Arts from the age of ten. In the future, there is an opportunity to receive specialized secondary and higher education.

Boarding schools specialized in school subjects conduct entrance exams during the summer holidays so that nonresident applicants can come. At the A.N. Kolmogorov School there is an opportunity to test their knowledge - non-residents can take trial correspondence exams. To do this, just download problems from the Internet, solve them and send them to the address. The exam results are posted on the school website. Opposite each name is the number of points scored. True, the correspondence tour does not have legal force: in order to become a student of the School, you need to pass face-to-face tests.

For future military

The maximum task of another special group of boarding schools is to train the elite of the country's Armed Forces. These include military boarding schools: cadet corps, Suvorov and Nakhimov schools, etc. Children live and study here with full government support. In the future, without exams, they will enter military universities. However, it is not at all a fact that upon graduation from corps and schools, only one path is open to their students - to the army. You can, for example, become a student at the Faculty of Journalism or Law at a military institute.

Duration of training - 2 years (after ninth grade), 3 (after eighth grade) or 7 years. The youngest Suvorov students are graduates of the 4th grade of secondary schools. The age of applicants must not exceed 11 years.

Suvorov and Nakhimov students receive general education and basic military training (sometimes by branch of the military). They are required to study a foreign language in an in-depth program.

But in military boarding schools there is a strict selection based on physical and intellectual characteristics. So, for example, in order to obtain admission to the entrance exams to the First Cadet Corps of the Federal Border Guard Service of Russia, the average certificate score for grade 9 must be at least 4.

How to get there?

Familiarize yourself with the admission rules. They are the same for all educational institutions of this type. It is also necessary to provide a certificate of academic achievement from the school, or a certificate of nine-year education. Pass a medical examination, professional psychological testing and a physical fitness test.

Then follow general education exams: mathematics, Russian and foreign languages.

Children of military personnel who have served at least 20 years in the ranks of the Armed Forces, subject to successful passing of exams, are enrolled without competition.

Orphans are admitted without exams, after a medical commission and psychological testing.

Who is boarding school suitable for?

K. I. Razumov, specialist in child and adolescent psychology:

“No matter what your family circumstances are, do not rush to send your child to a boarding school. At a minimum, you need to have him tested by a good psychologist. Or consult with teachers.

Children perceive separation from their parents differently. Some adapt almost immediately, make new friends, and actively participate in school life.

Others live with the feeling that their loved ones have betrayed them and left them to their fate. Moreover, this reaction occurs more often in truly talented children. Many of them are very vulnerable.

A good option is to send your child to a camp or forest school for the summer. Let him try to cope without his parents.

And under no circumstances make the decision to transfer to a boarding school on your own! Even if you are sure that a new form of education opens up enormous opportunities for your child. Explain your position to him. And give the student the right to choose."

Parent's notebook

The head of the press service of the Moscow Department of Education, A.V. Gavrilov, answers the questions.

What should parents do if the teacher hints at a monetary reward for a good grade in a quarter or half a year? What to do if the administration of an educational institution regularly, once a month, requires parents to contribute fairly large sums for the needs of the school?
